  1. Did anyone recognize Jeff and Karen Malone as "Abraham and Sarah"? https://www.jw.org/finder?srcid=share&wtlocale=E&lank=pub-jwb-102_7_VIDEO https://www.jw.org/finder?srcid=share&wtlocale=E&lank=pub-jwb-106_4_VIDEO

  3. That reminds me of a little boy who was born in Australia to parents of mixed nationality. Little David told me, "I'm half Italian, half Austrian, and half Australian." Sorry, this is totally
  4. My Mum was Jewish. A well-prepared sister considered Daniel's prophecy on the 70 weeks of years with her. (Dan 9) She was amazed and could see that Jesus fulfilled prophecy. She was baptized 4 years later, in 1970, and is still faithfully serving Jehovah.

good to hear from you ..

I find Dr.Burns approach is very practical and straightforward

I have have had good success with sharing his approach with various friends who are struggling.

Thank you for letting me know this, Ying Ching.

  6. I haven't got time to write a proper comment now but I love the way the TEAM approach overcomes resistance. I haven't yet read the book "Feeling Great" but I've listened to dozens and dozens of Dr. Burns' podcasts. Brilliant work!
  7. Thank you so much, Uani and Sofia. That's perfect! One thing I observed in the article and the video that were sent to me was that they don't include any date or any place. That immediately made me sceptical. When I read the article on our website about misinformation, I wondered, what exactly is a meme? Now I know!!
  8. Here in Italy, as well as in Australia, first a news article and now also a YouTube video have started circulating stating that, "Indians throw thousands of idols on the street for not protecting them against the virus." The source is shiawaves.com, of 5 days ago. I haven't been able to find anything else about this and there is some debate amongst the brothers as to whether the news is authentic or not. Can any of our Indian brothers shed some light on the matter? And what about Shiawaves.com? Is it a trustworthy website? Thank you! PS What a timely article on jw.org: "Protect Yourself From Misinformation"! https://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/peace-happiness/conspiracy-theories-misinformation/
  9. I think the point's clear now, but just the same, you might find the Italian translation interesting: State attenti però a non glorificare gli uomini ma Dio. Retranslated: Be careful not to glorify men but God. We members of the Governing Body are given credit that we don’t deserve. Everything depends on Jehovah and Jesus, and we’d like the more than 8 million brothers around the world to understand this point. It’s not easy but we’ll continue to work on it.
  10. Just for the records, in Rome they say, "I fratelli" - "The brothers". (At least in Italian).
  11. I remember hearing an almost identical experience - and having re-told it over and over again because I liked it so much. The main differences were that the neighbour brought over a cake (not a pie) and that she found magazines (not a Bible Teach book) in the oven. I heard it related by our district overseer, Bro. Ray Cowling (Melbourne, Australia) during his concluding talk at one of our circuit assemblies when I was a teenager. In other words, about 45 years ago.
  12. I sent this link to my sister who serves in a Chinese congregation. This is what she replied: Hi Linda, Thanks so much for sending that article! I studied with the mum of a young sister who got the truth in our congregation and who is from that area. Her mum went through weeks of daily interrogations during that period. We used Skype to talk to one of the sisters in the area. She didn't say a lot, mainly cried. We understood that all the elders in the entire area, could be the whole of Xinjiang, had been arrested. She was totally isolated with no literature and no access to our website or app. [Name]'s mum will be coming out to [country] and attending the International Convention. She's requested to have a study every day for the few weeks she's here.
  13. This reminds me of a poem I once heard: Broken Dreams As children bring their broken toys With tears for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God Because He was my friend. But then instead of leaving Him In peace to work alone, I hung around and tried to help With ways that were my own. At last I snatched them back and cried, "How could you be so slow" "My child," He said, "What could I do? You never let it go." -Author unknown
