  1. I keep seeing that lately! But I cleaned out my car over the weekend and found some super old french fries that the kids hid in between the seats and they had a little fur on them. (gross, I know haha)
  2. My husband just ordered the Flytouch 3 (its Android). It hasn't arrived yet though.
  3. Our family loves fireworks. When they started being sold in stores we bought some and we had our own little fireworks show at home about a week before the 4th. Fun! Then we were surprised to see that we could see a big fireworks show from our house the other night. I guess they were shooting them off at the mall or somewhere, so we sat on the porch and watched those.
  4. The Royal Wedding vs Disney's "Cinderella" See anything similar?
  5. Shiva is the jewish mourning period. After someone dies they sit shiva for a week. They don't work, they wear mourning clothes, women often cut their hair, etc. They cover the mirrors because mourners aren't supposed to be concerned with their physical appearance. No one should expect them to look good on the outside when they obviously feel horrible inside. They're only supposed to be focusing on working through their grief and on God.
  6. Okay, no one call child protection services on me! This is what my son was doing all day yesterday. I guess he figured if the dog can play in there so can he!
  7. Yep we're snowed in as well. Which is a little frustrating actually. We were supposed to have our CO visit this week, but our Tuesday meeting was canceled and from what it looks like Thursdays will be canceled too. Hopefully it clears up soon!
  8. I saw that! I literally laughed out loud. The Homer Simpson is a great role model don't you think? Such good religious morals....
  9. I guess since they couldn't legally have a pet tiger, they decided to turn their dog into one?
  10. Wow... Things like this are really interesting to me because when the series first came out in book form, I loved it. Its such a huge romance and adventure that it really draws teens, especially teen girls, into it and you either "forget" that they're vampires or it makes vampires seem "cool" because he's a "good vampire". So once I started studying it took a long time for me to understand and accept Jehovah's viewpoint on the matter. And although I know some people come to different conclusions about this movie, you're absolutely right about how influential it can be... Its crazy. But its not even always "bad things" that can be really influential. I know of several sisters who won't read any romance novels because they always have the "perfect man" in them and it makes you want that... and at the same time start to resent your husband for not being as "sweet" and perfect.
  11. Haha, thanks for giving me something to laugh about today.

How I Found the Truth

  • How I found the Truth
I grew up in the Seventh-Day Adventist church. I actually had aspirations of becoming a pastor there. However, as my interest in spiritual matters grew I realized that there were WAY too many things about the Adventist church that were in direct contradiction with the Bible. Their take on the Sabbath, for one. Also the way we were forced to pledge to the flag every day before chapel. When I was growing up, my mother was very abusive to me. I went to my pastor to tell him about the situation and his response was: "Well, Angela, its just God's will for her to do that to you". That was the last straw for me. I left that church and was just "nothing" for a while. Not too long after, I met my husband (just a friend at the time). He told me how he was studying with Jehovah's Witnesses and I started asking him a lot of questions and he was able to provide me answers straight from the Bible. I then started going to the Kingdom Hall with him and started my own study and just took off from there. I have never found anything as satisfying as the truth. Jehovah's organization is truly the best place anyone could be.

My Hobbies & Interests

  • My Interests
I'm a huge music lover. I listen to pretty much any genre besides rap. That's just not my cup of tea. I also write. I do a lot of poetry and am working on a novel as well. I love nature. I could spend hours or even days just enjoying Jehovah's beautiful creations.
  • My favorite books
Honestly, the only thing I really read nowadays is the Bible and the publications we're given. I used to read a lot of fantasy, but most of the books I used to like don't sit well with me anymore. Too many questionable things for my mind to dwell on.
  • My favorite music
I listen to pretty much anything, except for rap. A few of my favorite songs? "If Everyone Cared" by Nickleback; "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield; "Jump Rope" by Blue October; "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas
  • My favorite quotes
"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4 Nothing can top that! I can't wait until I never have to see my children, or anyone else, sick or in pain ever again.
