  1. My iPhone 14 Max with 128 gig hard drive has 45 total gigs and over 11 gig of JW Library files with no lag. I have a gen 9 iPad too and it does great. That said, I don't consider myself a "Apple Person". For research, it's hard to beat a current Windows computer with "Watchtower Library". Quick search, great cut and paste. And would I go back to an Android phone? I would. I'm kind of on a every four years new phone schedule so I went from iPhone 10 (my first Apple iPhone) to iPhone 14 but when the 18s come out I'm sure I'll look at android again. I try to avoid being "brand faithful" if new products are better (and less money). My current favs are: LG appliances, Samsung TV, Toyota car, Apple Phone, Apple iPad.....
  2. I totally agree with the info in this Awake. I also know that in the last 51 years since it was written lots of research has been done on animals. There are thousands of YouTube videos of animals.... all types of animals being friends with each other, mothering babies that are not from the same kind. Cats and birds playing, Elephants and dogs as best friends, They are Jehovah's creation and a gift from him for us. He even had Adam name them..... I just lost a dog after 14 years and I have to admit I'm not over it. She truly was a friend. Have you seen dogs that can talk now? They put buzzers on the floor and each one says a different word so the dog can touch them and build short sentence's. Some if these smart dogs will tell you what they want swim but not a bath).
  3. 10 Countries call for the end to abuse and other infractions against Jehovah's Witnesses https://www.state.gov/international-religious-freedom-or-belief-alliance-statement-on-jehovahs-witnesses/
  4. We will just have to wait and see but I read that the new Windows 11 will run android apps. Maybe at that point we could open the Windows JW app and also the Android app. If so that would be a good reason to upgrade to Windows 11.
  5. Could you count 16,000 placements plus the circulation of the Huffington Post? Whew! (just kidding of course).
  6. The Brother on the left and his wife next to him stayed in the same Hotel as my wife and I. 😃
  7. I would sure like to play baseball and watch baseball. That being said, I'm more worried about getting to the New World. Jehovah knows what we need AND want. I can't imagine thinking.... boy i miss the old world where I could watch baseball, basketball, football, hockey.... (OK maybe Baseball )
  8. The newer "Introduction to Genesis" and Introduction to Exodus" are downloaded and show up under videos and I can watch them but they are not attached to the actual Book in the Bible. On the other "Introductions" when you go to that book of the Bible it gives you the option to watch that video. I tried moving the videos to make sure they are all in the same folder (windows laptop) but they still won't connect to the Bible book. Any ideas? Delete and re-download maybe? How did the other "Introductions" know how to attach to the Bible book?
  9. C (40 years in a few months..... B (10 yo rescue dog named Piper). Now there's nothing much better than a good bottle of Cab (2008 Silver Oak Alexander Valley from Oakville California) ......... so instead can I have a hoppy IPA beer (Bent Nail IPA from Red Lodge Brewing Co, Red Lodge Montana?
  10. Greg, I also used to feel the same way wondering if it was worth it and then a funny thing happened. A show I watched in 2018 started a new season of course in 2019 and it "felt" different.... and I can't really say I liked it. I seriously watched over 1/2 the season and keep thinking" what's different? It almost gave me the feeling that it was being shot live to video. When I was a kid my Mom watched a soap opera and the quality was weird.... ..... if that makes sense. The picture was SOOOOO clear and sharp it looked funny. Another way to describe it..... movies are shot with film and there's a softness about film. When I finally figured it out it make sense.... 2018 was in HD and 2019 was 4k. I guess I'm used to it now but "sharper" it not always better, in fact it was a little distracting. The flip side though is live Baseball (of course not this year yet ) A baseball game in 4k is mesmerizing. It's so close to real, replay is sharp, close ups are crazy clear. If they could add the smell of grass, hotdogs and beer................. So my vote...... 4k YES....... worth extra money? Maybe not. I personally watch a lot of baseball and I'm spoiled and wouldn't want to go back to HD.
  11. Not everyone had their camera on and some could only listen in but I'd guess about 2/3 had their camera on. With the Gems, the friends with their camera on could raise their hand and get called on to answer. Again, it was history making.... I'm a 4 generation Witness and I've never seen anything like this. ALL the credit goes to Jehovah. He WILL NOT leave us unfed physically OR spiritually.
  12. We just had our first "Zoom Meeting" tonight and it was...... AWESOME! Attendance of 136. The meeting just just the same as at our KH but it was on live from everyone's home.
  13. As mentioned above, only the person that initiates the Zoom meeting has to upgrade to get past the 40 minute limit. In our case our COBE bought the upgraded account and then the rest of the congregation are invited by him and only need the free account.
  14. Brother, to get around the 40 minute time constraint on Zoom just have the Administrator sign up for Zoom Pro. It's $14 a month but he is the only one that needs to subscribe as long as he is always the one that initiates the conference. We are doing that. We have a dry run tomorrow night and then our first meeting Thursday night. As Elders we checked it out yesterday with 10 of us on at once and it worked really well. Everyone will keep their assignment, they will just do it from home. It actually looks like it will be fun.... at least for awhile.
  15. Another way would be to open it on an Apple Phone or Ipad and then watch on your smart TV. Get the video running then tap on it and at the top it will show which TV you can broadcast it on.
  16. I had the same problem with Outlook on my iPhone with 13 (now 13.1.1). I actually rebooted my phone and then it worked fine. I just double checked and it's still working.
  17. My stock 06 Chevy 3500 with the LBZ motor has over 400 hp. Would love to have a Banks turbo It would get around faster on LDC jobs.
  18. Mine too but mostly on videos and the Good News brochure. I'm not shew how or who to contact.
  19. 90 miles from Billings, MT where I live. We share public speakers with Cody. I'll be there on the 31st of this month.... if there is no snow 😨
  20. I'm way late on this thread but my wife and I started a loose form of the Keto Diet in February (before going to a Special Convention) and in 5 months lost about 35 pounds. Went to the convention (Georgia and then Croatia) and gained back about 12 pounds 🤪. Now 6 weeks ago we went hard core Keto with the Ideal Protein diet. I've lost 22 pounds in 6 weeks and Carol has lost about 15 (I know, it's easier for Men and it's not fair). Overall now I've lost 50 pounds on some form of Keto diet and I hope to lose about another 20 or so. I think one of the "Key's" with the Ideal Protein diet is when you reach your goal they ease you back into a "normal" diet that includes carbs (Yeah BREAD!). I do find it interesting how the coaches and the Dr. talk about how smart your body is, how it can adapt to what you are eating, how starving does not work and why..... all things that tell me Jehovah knew how to make our body work perfectly and Man now has it so messed up that he has to figure out how to get it somewhat back to normal (but no where close to perfect). BTW, my Dr. and the coaches are talking about IF and how it is also working for people. I THINK..... get close to your desired, healthy weight and then just eat good. Avoid sugar, pop, junk food, most fast food, go easy on carbs, eat your fruit and veggies, lean meat and chicken (if you want), fish, a little wine for the sake of your stomach........
  21. My Wife and I and my Daughter and her Husband are here! We were able to talk to Brother Lett for a few minutes yesterday. Service day was my personal highlight so far. I worked with a Brother that spoke no engligh and I speak no Georgian but we will be friends for life. He talked to a few people on the street and made a couple of his RVs. I could tell he was a VERY good teacher. Had dinner last night with 22 people we just met. Unless you are part of Jehovah's family that would seem strange. I'll post some pictures later.
