  1. Ryan, If you are staying in Manhattan, you need to try to go on one of Biblical Tours at the Metropolitan Museum which is organized by Oasis Group Tours. There is a website under that name and the tours are very reasonable. I hear the tour "The Woman and the Seed" is great.
  2. My son has decided that he wants to get baptized at the Regional Convention. I am one proud mama!!

  3. I just love it! I plan to view it with my son during family worship. We just attended our Special Day Assembly and after the assembly he stated, "I have a lot of work to do". I pray to Jehovah that he makes the right decisions. He will be 15 years old this summer.
  4. We are having our CO visit this week and our CO's wife mentioned it to a few of us.
  5. Gave my first talk on the school in 20 years at last night's meeting! It felt so good!

  6. Here is a picture of my sons with their new bibles. My nephew from Bethel sent them to me to give them!!

  7. My nephew at Wallkill got accepted to go to an international convention in London! So proud of him!

  8. It is a sad situation when people use their position of trust to take advantage of innocent children. This system is getting worse and worse by the minute. I have worked with children for almost 15 years as a special education teacher and a behavior management specialist, it is unimaginable what our children are being exposed to. That is why last Sunday Watchtower study was so timely. Christian parents need to be prepared to hear what their children are communicating or even be aware of changes in attitudes. What we were expose to as children is a hundred times worse then what are children are subjected to out in Satan's world. Again may Jehovah bless those poor children, their parents, and the congregation.
  9. Not a happy situation. I pray for the boys, their family, and the congregation.
  10. So happy that I have made junior member status! Yes, it is the little things that make me happy and rejoice!

  11. I am new to the forum, but was wondering why I have limited access. There are some area that I can't read. I am guessing it is because I am a "Newbie". How long before I can become a "Full Access User".

How I Found the Truth

  • How I found the Truth
I was raised in the Christian Congregation at a young age when both my parents and sister were disfellowshipped my whole world changed. My parents started having drinking parties and we started to celebrate holiday. My grandmother was my only link to Jehovah and she would take me to the meetings at the local Spanish congregation. It was so hard for me to be at the meetings without my family and I had a difficult time with the Spanish language. It wasn't until my grandmother took me to an English Circuit Assembly, that my eyes were opened to the truth. Until then I thought that Jehovah's Witnesses only spoke Spanish. Sometime after that my grandmother decided that she would move over to the English Congregation, so we could fully benefit from the meetings and publications in English. It was truly the best thing that she had done for us. It was a sacrifice for her because at that time she was conducting about 7 progressive bible studies and had countless RV's that had to be turned over to the Spanish Congregation and basically start all over in English. I struggled a bit after that because my parents eventually divorced when I was eleven years old and my mother remarried. Her present husband was very opposed to the Truth and did not allow me or my sister to attend meetings, go out in service, or even talk to my grandmother. He insisted that Jehovah's Witnesses were a cult and he would not support us being a part of that. It was not easy. At that time my older sister who had been inactive for several years began attending meetings and even regular pioneered. I really tried to stay in touch with my grandmother and sister. My sister would right letters to me and a young sister that I went to school with would bring them and literature to me at school. When I was 16 years old I finally was able to leave my mother's home and lived with my grandmother, but that lasted for about a year. (More to come later)
