My husband was a marine and had spent 1966 in Vietnam and would get very depressed about what he had experienced and the children he saw killed. He would ask me over and over "How could there be a God that would allow war and children, actually babies, to be murdered? I tried to find the answers for him and was introduced to the truth. A sister (Evelyn) and her mother (Dorothy) showed up at my door as I sat rocking my daughter reading the book of Psalms. I love the Psalms but I cannot read them without crying to this day. We started studying together immediately. That was 1971. I did not really find the truth. The truth found me but I wasn't ready.

I used to like figure drawing, charcoal on newsprint, some painting, printmaking, cutting woodblock prints, paper making, paper sculpting, sewing and design, (all of which I can do very little of because of osteoarthritis and those things are expensive and time consuming. Time I have very little of. However, I love doing research and absolutely love the JW Library, the new research tools, our new translation with the five different versions, JW.org, talking about the good news of the kingdom, the Bible, Jehovah, Jesus, the organization, discussing the Watchtower studies, the books, the new things learned, finding ways to do informal witnessing. I am fascinated with human biology, anatomy and physiology. Clearly, how we are made and the way our bodies, brains, and emotions function are a credit to Jehovah as a creator, designer and source of all things. Like Paul anything else is really refuse to me today.

I love reading the psalms, I love the new translation. I love studying Draw Close to Jehovah.
