  1. Actually even the African violence is caused by greed - pretty much all of our problems come down to that one vice. The greed in the developed world is more direct, it is largely the people themselves who are greedy whereas in the developing world, such as Africa, the greed that affects the ordinary people is down to their governments. Many people in Africa starve because greedy political leaders steal money, food and goods so that they can sell them and grow rich. But then even when they have what they need such as a plentiful food supply the greedy amongst the population of the developing world will still steal a television if they get the opportunity. They seem less greedy than people in the developing world, particularly the West, because they have difficulty in providing a stable food supply thanks to their government and endless rebellions, but in reality like all humans there are those who are greedy and selfish and who desire all those luxury goods like TVs and expensive cars but don't want to do the work to earn them.
  2. Unfortunately it's the thing we have to expect from politicians today. The so-called "progressives" are the worst at this, their policies have caused much of the moral breakdown by promoting things that Bible based Christians understand to be completely against God's will and bad for people. But then again most of the so-called "conservative" politicians are nearly as bad these days. They may have gone against God in many ways in the past but at the same time they did promote Biblical values more often than not - now almost none of them do. They also seem completely blind to what they are doing and the results of what they are doing, I mean really and truly blind as bats.
  3. I was listening to the rioters in their own words to see why they were doing what they were doing. It's quite interesting to hear their rather stupid reasons. What was amazing was the number of rich kids who joined in with the poor kids and the gang members who were "shopping". Then there were the adults defending what they did and blaming the rich for their supposed greed and avoidance of law as well as a huge shopping list of other excuses right out of the Marxist play book. I notice the media, particularly the British media, were playing these things down and simply blaming frustration and anger at budged cuts that as far as I know don't even affect most of the people who rioted.
  4. This is the sort of thing I was talking about, it is pure class hatred and is the kind of thing that stokes these riots. Blaming the rich for the violent behavior of yobs is classic Marxist ideology. Bankers aren't the problem, in fact they tend to be somewhat less greedy than they used to be thanks to governments and customers forcing them to be so. What is causing these problems is people wanting everything but not wanting to earn them - in a capitalist or truly Christian society people have to work to earn the money to buy the goods they want, but that is not how modern society works. Instead people are put on easy welfare, are constantly bombarded with examples of people getting money for nothing (usually by wealthy pop and movie stars), are told that they "deserve more" and that they individually are the most important person on earth. Bankers are easy targets because they are rich and the left, who do control the narrative today, hate the rich (unless they contribute to leftist causes). While these yobs aren't leftist protesters they are soaked in a culture of socialist ideology that has almost entirely erased most of the ideals of the past such as hard work, thrift, and unselfishness. Instead of looking at the real problems they are told that all their problems come down to others - the rich, bankers, corporations, police, government, conservatives, Christians, and Jews - when in reality they are the problem. They are a problem because they don't want to work, they think the world owes them a living and no wonder, that is what they are told, they are told that all whites are racist and that the police are unfairly targeting them because they are black or Muslims or Pakistanis or from Outer Mongolia. This blog made an excellent point about the riots and the declining church attendance in the UK. The current church attendance in the UK is down to 15% and no one including parents are teaching these kids any kind of good social behaviour any more. It is less likely that these things will happen in the near future in the US, regular church attendance is around 43% and many of the rest are irregular church-goers or are quite religious. In the UK the level of atheism is about 20% while in the US it's about 2%. We are definitely going to see more of this, it may be a while in the US but radicals are gearing up for more trouble around the world and, as England showed this week, the ordinary people are so soaked in crime, class envy and left-wing demagoguery that all it takes is a spark to ignite violence in some parts of the world. This is a perfect demonstration of what the Bible prophesies in 2 Timothy 3 said:
  5. This didn't occur as a direct result of Anonymous or any other group inciting people, that is true. The cause of the riots goes back a long way through decades of leftist ideology - things such as not disciplining children, their changes to education, hatred of authority and so on. This was at least in part political because shortly after the rioting started anarchists turned up as part of the troubles although it didn't start out as a political protest. However, this is what groups like Anonymous and others are looking for and are inciting the disaffected to do and they are threatening the British government over their ideas on how to deal with this sort of thing in the future. These troubles are coming from a culture soaked in criminality and hatred for traditional values, not to mention a hatred for authority. There is no organisation that I can see behind the riots but these groups are in a very large way responsible for these things happening.
  6. I have heard that NPR is like that, it's especially since it is a government funded entity. But that's the sort of thing I have been hearing a lot, this Anonymous group want the West to be overthrown, then there is Wikileaks, a host of George Soros funded leftist organisations and a lot of other leftist groups who think the West including the US are the most evil regimes on the planet. They support the Arabs over the Israelis, they support Iran and all the other regimes hostile to the US. The calls for "revolution" are coming thick and fast and so is the anti-Christian and anti-Semitic rhetoric from the left and it is very likely we will see much more of this mob violence. Anonymous are gearing up for a takeover of Wall Street in November that is likely to see a considerable amount of violence, especially if anarchists turn up to the party. There will also be a lot of anti-Semitic hatred on display too.
  7. It's interesting that the MSM narrative is that things like cuts to spending and rising costs of education are the cause of the riots in the UK. But it has been pointed out that many of these people are not that poor, in fact some come from better class suburbs. A good example of this is one text said that "we're not broke, but who says no to free stuff?" Bill O'Reilly on his Talking Points played audio from two young who said quite openly that they are attacking the rich (i.e. anyone who owns businesses, large or small). In this they are following their education, things that we (Jehovah's Witnesses) have been pointing to for decades, zero discipline of children, no respect for any kind of authority, hatred of others, greed, selfishness, avarice and so on - they are reveling in things condemned by God's word. Most of what is being said shows that another large component of the cause of the riots is contempt for authority, a complete lack of discipline and a strong presence by criminal elements. They are being excused by the political left and even incited by their excuses and attacks on the government. This sort of thing is interesting, very interesting because we are seeing the same thing in nearly every western nation spoken by various leftist groups. Not all of these groups are particularly radical, yet what they say is quite united in its hatred of authority, Christianity (they don't distinguish between groups), class hatred and so on. Another major component is a group calling itself Anonymous who are fomenting and inciting incidents like this all over the world. They pushed the "Arab Spring" that will probably see terror groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood take power in several Arab occupied countries. Now they are pushing for a "Tahrir-like revolution" in the US. I am getting the feeling we may need to factor groups like Anonymous into our interpretation of prophecy, they are something that we could not have expected even 20 years ago. They are world-wide and hostile to everything we believe and they are gearing up to do terrible things to the world and most of them are openly atheist and anarchist in their political and social orientation. I am not sure if they are behind what is happening in the UK, even as just a component of the troubles, but they have mentioned hackers are working to take down RIM in retaliation for their assistance to the British authorities in quelling the riots. I think what we are seeing is a small foretaste of what is to come in other parts of the world, these people want the West to burn and for society to fall. We are truly living in interesting times.
  8. Yes, and there is a reason for that, as a UCLA study recently found - the media is significantly biased to the left, even Fox News (beloved of the left ) swings to the left politically. The news you receive is what they want you to hear and what they want you to hear is generally what the left wants people to believe. Israel is deeply hated by the left and so you won't hear much that is positive about Israel including their agreement to talks on this subject, a topic they have actually been willing to entertain since 1948. Though listening to media talking about it you would be forgiven for thinking that Israel has been the recalcitrant party always rejecting a sharing deal and then a two-state deal when in reality it's the Arabs/Muslims who have rejected it from the beginning and the Israelis have accepted it. The BBC is one of the most left wing media outlets in the world today, I think the Guardian (UK) is one of the few that swings further left and it's essentially a Marxist rag along the lines of Pravda.
  9. A note, I'm not taking political sides here, just musing on the various view points That's rather surprising, the 1967 lines are considered completely indefensible because it reduces parts of Israel to a width of no more than about 9 miles. The point of pushing back the lines is to make it easier to conquer Israel. I am very surprised that they are even willing to discuss it since it could mean the destruction of their country and the possible slaughter of most Jews (the Hamas charter demands this). You'd think they would be demanding the post 1967 lines, Judea and Samaria were supposed to be part of the territories that Jews would live in and were conquered lawfully by Israel after Jordan declared war on them in 1967. Though I do believe the "1967 lines" spoken of by Israel are different to what people imagine and are much more defensible than the way Israel was when the six day war started. I wouldn't bet too much on that - the Arabs (until 1977 the Jews were "Palestinians" and it was an insult, calling Arabs "Palestinians" is taking the Arab/Muslim side and buying into their narrative) are planning "protests" when the vote on their state is to go ahead. They have been working on a third intifada or "uprising" - there has been two groups on Facebook each with about 300,000 members on that subject and it is very possible that these "protests" will be the third intifada. This may be another time when they are talking about "peace" but I think there will be a great deal of violence when it happens. If Syria puts an end to the protests and if Egypt votes in the Muslim Brotherhood, the grandaddy of all Sunni Muslim terror groups then we could see Syria, Hezbollah and Egypt and possibly Iran ranged against Israel and at the very least an upsurge in violence with the possibility of outright war. This is very possible as during Egypt's uprising a high percentage of Egyptian Muslims were allegedly demanding the army declare war against Israel. What will be interesting is how the rest of the world reacts to such a thing - they are increasingly anti-Israel and that includes the current US administration. It will be an interesting few months to come, especially after the vote.
  10. Yes, it will be a great day when people see the "Sign of the Son of Man" and know that all the things they have done are right or wrong. Unfortunately it will be too late for those who oppose Christ and his followers, but it will be the end of all the evils men commit.
  11. The response would be the complete opposite to the reaction to Muslim violence - there would be helicopters and trucks full of special forces and riot descending on the church, there would be endless coverage of the church in the press and article after article on why Christians are evil and stupid and need to be suppressed. But then we already see these sorts of thing in the Western media and governments, just recently a Republican in the US started hearings about Muslim radicals in the US and one of the Democrats demanded they instead investigate "radical Christians" who she thinks are going to destroy America. Basically all of Christianity whether true or false is under increasing scrutiny and facing increasing antipathy and the laws are getting incrementally more restrictive. We see examples of this in the US where religion is being banned from public spaces like schools and Australia where atheists are trying to get rid of school chaplains. Christians are even the group that is second most likely to be affected by hate violence for being Christians after Jews in the US and Europe.
  12. They've just passed a new law that is supposed to prevent radicalisation of children in Tajikistan by banning participation of children and teens. The only religious ceremonies they are allowed to attend are funerals. That exception is an interesting choice if it is really only funerals and not that they have just left out weddings because it would lead the children associate religion with death and sadness at least a little bit. The law may not last long, pray that it doesn't because it will cause our brothers there great harm. The story The Guardian's Original Article This is what many atheists in the West are trying to achieve, banning parents from teaching their children any kind of religion so that the children will be raised atheist or at least agnostic. I wonder how long it will be before they succeed in doing this in a Western nation, it is already quite possible in some of the ultra-Leftist nations of Scandinavia.
  13. What's interesting is the fact that the spokesman was caught in a lie about our sister when he said that "she had started handing out crosses and Jehovah's Witness literature". It's a good warning to us when speaking to Muslims, proselytising to Muslims by non-Muslims is strictly verboten in Muslim occupied areas, any admiration for our belief that the Father is God alone is lost when we attempt to make disciples.
  14. It looks like the Methodists in the US are in for a big split between the progressives and the socially conservatives (mostly African and Asian) in the near future over homosexual clergy and homosexual marriage. Story The title of the story sounds over dramatic but reading what this priest is saying it really does sound like an uprising against traditional values held by the Methodists. A few weeks ago there was a similar story about one of the major Presbyterian denominations currently voting over the issue. At the time about 69 congregations, less than half, had voted against any possibility of the denomination endorsing homosexual marriage in the US. I think we are seeing a winnowing in Christendom - the various churches are splitting faster and faster than ever with an ever smaller core of members holding to traditional Christian values (even if they still teach false doctrines, they still hold to the sanctity of marriage and many other social doctrines we uphold) while an ever growing group are being mired in leftist politics such as social justice and even siding with neopagans atheists against Christians who do uphold these traditions including us. Most of these leftist churches are placing man's desires before anything the Bible commands, even going so far as to say that many of the things the Bible says are outdated and outmoded. It is rather interesting to watch the shenanigans going on in these denominations with the left leaning churches getting further from the Truth than Christendom has ever been in the past and watching this small core of social conservatives appear. These are not necessarily the same as political conservatives, some still for left leaning parties like the Democarats but remain opposed to many of the progressive political and religious doctrines. If we are fortunate we are beginning to see a major separation in the world with those who do truly have God and Christ in their hearts, even if they are currently blinded to the Truth being winnowed out of the greater mass of "Christians" who put mankind and mankind's teachings before God's.
  15. I read several blogs and came across this in I Hate the Media. A broadcaster/newspaper columnist in Australia is calling for tattoos on those who deny global warming is true as well as calling for their ghettoisation (albeit in what is currently considered prime real-estate) in low lying land. Link Of course, after outcry he has, in his original article turned around and said, "I didn't really mean it". The problem is that he is not the first member of the Church of Global Warming Climate Change to propose such totalitarian ideas. What is interesting is that he is calling for politics to be removed and that the fight against the Climate Changetm bogeyman be a community thing. For many Climate Changers it is already a religious thing with regular statements about us hurting Mother Earth/Gaia with our very existence. In the past some of the most dangerous ideas have started off as a lone nutter writing dangerous things - the Nazi ideas on ethnic cleansing came from the words of just a few men including Wagner (yes, that Wagner, the composer). Of course many more dangerous ideas also just disappear in a cloud of outrage from the public so we can hope this one does too. Still, something to watch out for - the majority at the moment don't believe in "Climate Change" except as a perfectly natural force that is not much affected by human activity but thanks to their control of various governments they have near complete control of the argument and in many places such as the US they also have a firm grip on education and can propagandise children. I think we can expect a great deal of trouble from the Green movement - it is both political and religious in nature and is quite fanatical. It's political ideas come from pure Socialism in that the government should do stuff regardless of whether the voters want it or not. It's religious ideas are straight out of the same kind of thought process that caused the Romans and Persians to persecute and kill Christians - in other words, if you don't agree with them and follow their ideas you are in deep trouble. We can already see how these ideas are beginning to harm us, food prices and energy costs are rising to insane levels for no real reason than that the Green movement wants it to because... Climate Change! Thanks to the exorbitant taxes they want to impose things such as housing, electricity and basic food will become more and more expensive in the name of Gaia. I don't know whether this will spark the Great Tribulation or merely contribute to it or even have no effect in the future, but it seems at the moment to be a good candidate for either of the first two.
