  1. We are invited to a diner and dance in early April. I can't dance and for music I can do an awful rendition of the March 2024 new music.
  2. When they raised the price way up I dropped my landline about 12 years ago. Already had MagicJack and have kept it active all these years. I like the fact that with their app I can receive calls on my cellphone when data is active.
  3. I have always said 5 bucks
  4. Was talking to my sister last night out in the boonies in Saskatchewan. We were talking about because we were born and raised in Paris, ON we are Parisians. However if you moved into Paris you were a She mentioned that where she lives they built several duplexes on former swamp land, Thus they are She groaned
  5. Thomas Walker's sc-fi books, under a different name, are good. Read them quite awhile ago.
  6. Update. Finally got cats into groomer/vet after 3 week wait. Unfortunately they both were very sick and the sad news that recommendation was to put them both to sleep. This was done about 3 PM on Friday Sept.1st. I petted them as needles were put in. They purred one last time.😢 Owner is supposed to come home on the 13th but that is in doubt. Family and friends thinks she needs to go into a home since she has a bad heart valve and doctors won't operate. A 15 minute procedure, put in like stents, but .....
  7. Since Aug 1st/23 I am currently deep cleaning a woman's apartment and looking after her 2 old cats while she is in hospital ( since Feb/23 ). It definitely needs it. Even then the cat urine smell comes back, just not very strong. It is in baseboards, floor tiles and in the paint on the walls. Scrubbed the walls, floors, shampooed carpets ( need to be replaced - 20 years old ) wiped everything down with cleaner/vinegar solution. Sprayed odor busters and cat formula Febreze, etc. everywhere. Rewashed stuff her sister had done, plus all clothes cat was sleeping/peeing on - but added vinegar to wash this time. Cats left alone too much over past few months act out. Haven't done this since Dec/2016 when I had my last heart attack. Now my mind says -Get to Work but my body is hardly working! 🙃 What I could do when in my early 60's my body balks at now.👴 Come new world, come very soon, please.🙏
  8. It also is supposed to settle out the coffee grounds. Haven't drank enough perked coffee to know for sure. My dad used a 2 cup stove top percolator when I was young ( many moons and then some ago ). Nothing worse at 7 AM than his dissolve the spoon coffee and his version of oatmeal, both done in aluminum pots. 🤢 My wife likes her coffee lite & sweet 🤐. Almost everybody likes my oatmeal. 😁 I like real cream in my decaf coffee with or without sugar/sweetener.( regular coffee curls my hair then it falls out - or so I tell others. In fact I can't handle the caffeine/sugar double whammy, same as colas )
  9. I drink Tim Horton's decaf. At Timmies I just get 3 creams ( 18% ) in large decaf. Cools it down and smooths it out. At home I add a little sugar or non-aspartame, non-sucralose ( Splenda ) sweetener and 35% cream. Just got more cream today - was out. Got some Timmies decaf K-cups on sale for used Keurig that I bought.
  10. We were asked Not to make comments about the "Elisha look" to our brothers who are follicly challenged.😁 I had lots of fun, but no more. 🤐
  11. My car -SUV is a Ford Edge. My winter tires by Canadian Tire are also called Edge. 😁
  12. Yup. That sounds like oregeno oil. There are other nasty 'natural' tasting oils out there too.🙃🤪
  13. My wife just tested positive again🤢. There went our plans for a night or 2 in Las Vegas this weekend. We were going with her sister and her husband. Oh well. At least it is only one night hotel fee lost for each of us.🤧 The Rio wasn't expensive and no resort fee.🤪
  14. You can't see it in pics but hwy 74 is on this side of hill. Rainbow was just part way up the hill. Never found the pot of gold though. You can see part of new deck with 2nd set of steps that I built for them.
  15. Got weird weather here in Inland Empire, CA Got snow for 1st time in about 15 years 5 miles west of Hemet. Didn't last long but when it was starting - very high winds and almost thought a tornado was here. Was in town where temp was 45F dropped to 39F at west end of town then 33F 5 miles away at Homeland where it was snowing hard. Hmm. Won't load pics. Bad fiber internet.
  16. 40 C is 104 F. Only mid 50s ( low mid teens C ) here at in laws in Inland Empire SoCal. Had about 2 inches rain over weekend. Rainy season for this desert area but that is a bit much. Makes a mess of private road but no one wants to chip in to grade and put course gravel down.
  17. Lots of us 70 year Olds around. The brother cat/apartment sitting for us is 9 days younger than me. In our a building a sister is a month younger than me. Come Feb 23 one of our elders living in our building will be 70 and the manager, a brother will be 70 in March. Talking about our cats. They have wound the brother and sister around their paws and allow the brother to sleep with them in bed.👦👧
  18. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome aka CFS was a misnamed label by Gary Holmes, et al in 1988 for Myalgic Encephelometis a British term used since 1930's Out of 18 doctors on the committee that named it CFS, only 2 doctors who had experience with ME refused to sign it. Thus 16 doctors who did not know what they were talking about labeled ME patients with a label that down played the seriousness of this horrible illness. Then in turn the US tried to enforce this bogus label onto the world - and partially succeeded. They falsely claimed "It Is All In Your Head" even claiming that ICD 10 had it listed under neurological and psychosomatic classifications which the IDC clarified it was Only listed under neurological. Long Covid has been likened to ME/CFS
