  1. How would we have felt if the governing body stopped all advancements a year or so ago (ramapo, building projects, Jesus movie) because they felt the GT is close? That wouldn’t be very ‘discreet’. We will keep on planning, as an organisation, until the very end. And we will possibly use these new buildings, and movies many years into the new system. That gives me faith we have the true religion. That is so interesting about IS. It is a common enemy, and it’s all to do with religion. Could be the straw that breaks the camels back. We will watch and see. Enjoy your memorials everyone! Hopefully it’ll be the last one.
  2. True. Plus it’s not as if audience members are going to be super casual, we will ALL look smart and modest, whether we’re wearing skirt or trousers, or brothers no tie or jacket. Compared to worldly standard it’s super formal still.
  3. On ministry on Friday, so literally a day before this announcement, the sister I was working with had on a beautiful knee length skirt but it was quite flowy…and it was windy. And let’s just say she had to grab it quick at some points. I soooo appreciate now having the choice of wearing trousers, especially on windy days in the ministry, so our full attention can go to our preaching work, not making sure our skirt doesn’t flow up! (And yes I know she had a choice to wear a different kind of skirt, but to be fair to her it was so sunny when she left the house and the wind just picked up out of nowhere! That’s England for you I guess, the weather is VERY changeable).
  4. We had some beautiful examples of trousers for a few of our sisters in our meeting yesterday. Black trousers with a tucked in black shirt and heels. Then another sister wore wide leg black trousers with a red blouse. And yet another sister wore a jumpsuit which was tailored look. They looked so chic and modest. No brothers not wearing ties or jackets though, but that could have been because it was the special talk. We will keep an eye on it. It’s so lovely! Exciting times to be living in. I can’t wait to tell my sister and dad in the resurrection that sisters were allowed to wear trousers, brothers did have to wear ties and could grow beards!
  5. Thank you for your comment. It is indeed so heartbreaking to watch the videos on social media… those poor children suffering right now, families broken, starvation, the list goes on. Imagine how Jehovah must feel. My thoughts go out to you and your husband, as well as your relatives in the truth and family. One day, there will be war no more, and I hope I get to meet some in the resurrection, Jehovah willing, and teach them about the true god.
  6. Thanks. I hate to see suffering. That’s all. No neutrality issue at all. I should feel sad if any witnesses wouldn’t want war to end?!? Of course we know that the only true way is through Jehovah’s kingdom.
  7. Out of the 15 SC members, US Vetoes and UK abstains. Anglo American power seen quite clearly. Makes you sick that they wouldn’t want a ceasefire when soooo many civilians have died.
  8. https://news.sky.com/story/amp/uk-economy-in-a-recession-13071973 UK is now officially in a recession too.
  9. Frightening but exciting too. We’re so ready for it aren’t we. Let’s hope 2024 is the year.
  10. I have a few ideas: I would love to design gardens and parks for the community, planting trees and vineyards, and watching as concrete jungles turn into beautiful fields and ponds and forests. The way we transformed Temple farm, which was a derelict car graveyard, into the beautiful scenery we have today inspired me. Like that, but everywhere haha. Plus I’d love to teach the resurrected ones, especially the unrighteous that had no clue who Jehovah was. Seeing the realisation on their faces as they come to learn about Him and how life is now- I don’t think much would compare to that. Also, after salvaging work is done I would love to be a part of destroying all vestiges of the old world- churches, shopping centres, banks (and all their money 😂), council house estates, schools etc. Thinking about salvaging, I’d love to be on the team to go into clothes/food shops and warehouses to keep what’s good, destroy or recycle what’s not. In the long term, I’d love to study space and hopefully travel around the universe if we’re allowed. If we’re not, I’d like to spend my days on earth studying all living things (plants, animals, environment etc) in extreme detail and document my findings to help others to learn about the wondrous creations of Jehovah. This will require extensive travelling so I’ll hopefully be staying with some of you lovely brothers and sisters with my husband. I’m hoping my children will be off serving Jehovah somewhere and we have a yearly family meet up. Then maybe after I’ve learnt everything, I’ll settle down with my husband in my own home and have a couple more kids, serving Jehovah from my community I’m in wherever I get put, having friends over for dinner, working in my garden, probably learning some other crafty things that people around me are knowledgeable about. I don’t think we’ll ever stop learning new skills will we. Such a lovely topic to ponder.
  11. You’re absolutely right Sofia. From scripture all we see in Revelation is that the 10 horns (the political powers) that are on the scarlet coloured wild beast (the UN) will devour the harlot (false religion). Whether this comes about by complete reform of the UN and abolishing the SC (which seems unlikely even though a lot seem to be calling for it to be reformed) or by those existing SC members coming to the same conclusion for some reason, remains to be seen. All we know is that Jehovah will put his thought into their hearts to do it so we don’t necessarily need to be waiting for a reform of the UN. Jehovah will make it happen any way he wants. I wonder with so many references to P&S (which is a demon inspired lie) if Satan is trying to fool us thinking this is it, but really he’s just messing with us because he knows we’re waiting for it? I guess we’ll only know which is the true cry by the immediate and sudden destruction of BtG straight after. The watchtower even says the true P&S cry may be different to all the others as people may think that world leaders have succeeded in making the world a safer place. So we know we haven’t seen it yet. But it feels very close doesn’t it.
  12. Interesting video. Thanks for sharing. Funny how he blames a ‘divided’ security council, how it’s been ‘deadlocked’. Maybe they’ll think to reform in some way, leading to the ‘10 kings’ giving their ‘power and authority’ to the UN. (Rev 17:12,13).
  13. I feel like the ministry has been completely overhauled. It feels like they’re preparing us for the time when ‘formal’ door to door ministry might be gone. Let’s give it our all and our best try, obviously there will be some that are better at conversations than others, but we try. That’s all Jehovah asks. Can’t wait to get stuck in. Now I’m thinking of all the ways I can start a conversation!
  14. Thank you for your replies. I’d completely missed that. I can’t even imagine. They’d just had their lovely Friday convention, just sat down after the morning prayer to start the program on the Saturday. That 12 year old probably had her stationary all ready to take some notes. Maybe her older/younger brothers and sisters were sitting near her. And then in a moment it all changed. She would have been in extreme pain too, burns are the absolute worst way to die. And even those who survived, recovering from burns, the doctors say it’s the worst pain. Those poor poor brothers and sisters and surviving families who lives are now shattered. I know Jehovah allows these things to happen, I know he can’t intervene and give us miraculous protection at the meetings and on the ministry- but I wish this world was over so no one would have to go through this again. I reckon it’s going to get much worse. We’ll hear of this more often. Just don’t let it stop us attending meetings, conventions, going on the ministry- that’s what Satan wants.
  15. Does anyone know of it was the convention or circuit assembly?
  16. Oh no. Hopefully soon it will be on jw.org so we can get the full and correct information. So sad for the poor brothers and sisters just trying to attend their assembly.
  17. Why does it matter? We have all we need- more than we need- in the public one. Don’t get hung up on things like this. Much more important things to think about.
  18. I understood what you meant. Jehovah did allow it to happen, he allows all of the suffering we experience today! it doesn’t mean he causes any of it. We know the world is in Satan’s control. Isn’t it funny the war started on the same day as the AM. I think it’s Satan trying to distract us, think that peace and security must be soooo far off because look! Another war! We must keep ready because it can happen at any time.
  19. No we’re not saying it was unscriptural at all. It was just one of those things like, why are we doing this. It never sat well with me. Jesus never (as far as we knew) took a count of how many hours each disciple was doing in the preaching work. They just described their experiences, which is sooo encouraging when we do the same. Like I said I understood the reason why logistically that the gb wanted to know how many hours we spent in the field, and per publisher to know averages, but I didn’t think it was important for our salvation to meet an hour target. Like say for example, getting to double digits. We saw that with the wisdom of the allowance of counting 15 minutes for elderly and infirm. This just seems like an amazing decision from the GB, indeed from Jehovah. Thank Jehovah for these refinements.
  20. Yes me too, I would never have said anything and more than happy to follow direction. But can you imagine if I’d allowed it to fester and eventually took me out of the truth- not good. Plus, I understood the logistics- that the only way to know the amount of time spent in the service meant we’d have to report our time, which is interesting to know. I just didn’t think it was mega important to Jehovah.
  21. I didn’t think of the translating. What a mammoth task for all those dear brothers and sisters on the 100’s of translation teams to translate it in such a short period of time. I know who I’ll be praying for over the next few weeks.
  22. Maybe now we can focus on the quality of our ministry rather than the time we spend in it. Such a loving provision from Jehovah.
  23. Ooh this is interesting. I’d love to tour, how did you book? Just call the bethel?
