Greetings my sister from some F1 fans in the States.
My brother is an F1 fan and an offroad racer and introduced me to the sport almost 11 years ago, we were at convention during lunch and the 2011 Canada Grand Prix during the rain delay was on one of the screens outside the venue. My brother suggested we watch the race that evening after convention. I had already received a little nudge directing my attention to Jenson Button while at McLaren and his incredible comeback from the crash with Lewis to win that race made me a permanent fan.
We've now got our nephew as the biggest F1 fan in the family (and a staunch McLaren fan at that, he's even got the swag) and I've even been able to get my wife somewhat interested in the action (the Netflix series helped with that). We're looking forward to Bahrain this Sunday and have a watch party planned for Sunday afternoon. No Spoilers.
What's your take on the new regulations? How much are Mercedes sandbagging? Is Lewis going to be able to get an 8th WDC or is his era over?
