  1. I lived in Longview for a year or so back in 1985. I have family from there, my mom grew up there as well as my aunt and uncle. We went to the Mint Valley congregation.
  2. With online banking that I've been using for the last 20 years I don't even think I use one stamp a year now.
  3. That's almost like asking which oil is better for your vehicle or which tires should I use on my motorcycles. The answer can be endless and people are brand loyal. All I will say is make sure whatever device you get has more memory than you'll probably ever need and more space. I've been an Android guy for years, but I also had a iPhone about 10 years ago. I prefer Android. I've seen over the years some of the friends by the cheapest tablets they can get, either no name brands or even brand names that have so little memory and so little space that they're plugged up it just a few months. Especially with all the downloads that we have in our JW library app, they all take up space. So whatever phone you get or whatever tablet you end up with I would go with a minimum of 8 gigs of ram (memory) and no less than 256 of storage.
  4. Greetings there Jay, I live in the Sequim/Port Angeles area, and there are two different VRBO's that are owned by the friends here. Where are you planning on wanting to stay? Send me a private message if you want the contact information. They both have been booked almost full time, but its worth a try. Also what dates are you looking at? Take care. 🙂
  5. I remember a game called tree of knowledge. Or something like that. We had it or might even still have it somewhere.
  6. I didn't realize zoom and khconf worked together. I thought they were two completely different programs. Our congregation is using zoom exclusively. We are sent a zoom link to join the meeting.
  7. While that probably could be fixed with the right person and skills, the time involved would out weigh the cost of a new door. Personally if it was my car I would insist the door be replaced. The value of the car goes down either way but more with patchwork. I could be wrong, so let's let some other voices chime in.
  8. Last year our CO brought up this very topic at our Friday elders meeting. I don't remember all of the details , but the slave was concerned about short hair styles on sisters as it could give onlookers the wrong impression. He said there is a trend in society to confuse genders and that we would want to be careful on that front. I'm not sure if there is any information on this in our literature , but it might be good to do some research personally rather than asking opinions. Opinions can come back to bite us sometimes. Don't bet me wrong, there are super cute short hairstyles for women out there, its just too bad what was something not bad could be construed as such.
  9. If you are referring to that small lock next to the web address, it means that the site is secure and encrypted. https://www.exede.com/blog/encryption-little-lock-url-bar-means/
  10. I would love to use one of my motorcycles in the ministry.
  11. I second the KHS program, I've been using it for over 3 years now and it is the best public talk scheduler there is. I also do the lawn list with it as well. There are literally endless things and reports that you can run with this program..
  12. About a year and a half ago I upgraded my 1 TB hard drive on my laptop to a 500G SSD, it was less than $200, and the best money I ever spent. Super-fast startup and no more moving parts, which makes the machine run cooler and with less noise. Programs open at lightning speed! It literally took 5 minutes to swap it out. My 4-year-old laptop is still competing with brand new ones with its original 16 GB ram and now the SSD, Win 10 and Office 365. My last laptop lasted me for over 10 years, before the HD failed. I originally got this HP Pavilion at Costco for less than $700.00, and it’s been a great device, and in fact is actually my main computer at home in my office. I have a dual monitor setup, and it’s awesome. I also have a dual monitor setup at work, I don’t know how anything ever got done with one monitor back in the day. Having the ability to have two calendars open or one calendar and then email, or a word doc on one and the library on the other well, in fact, sometimes I have my tablet on my desk with say the library app open so I can see the parts for the meeting, and then I have a word doc for writing on one of my laptop monitors and then the WT Library program open on the other. It’s crazy! Truth be told I am probably a little OCD and ADD, and I really think that all the multitasking that we do these days probably has added to that whole thing. I know I have a problem. Lol But again I could never go back to just one monitor. That would be like going back to a black and white TV or rubbing two sticks together when I can use a propane torch.
