  1. Not sure how to make suggestions to the brothers who write the code for the apps. I have a couple of suggestions. Steve
  2. This is an awesome update...I have used it all week and appreciate the work that has gone into preparing the update. I use iPad and iPhone...the bulk of the studying I do is on my iPad...However being able to backup, I will likely start using my phone when I am on the fly...just need to remember to back up after each study period. I have created a few tags: "how would you answer" - for the wt review questions "gems" "personal" - things I want to work on "suplemental" - for bringing in quotes from wt library etc. "bible reading" for interesting points for my own info When I go to create a new note and tap the tags i only get to see 3 and have no way to scroll through them all. I'm not sure if this is just a glitch...to be fixed on a later update. However it presents the need to really think about your note and about your tags. I have yet to do a hard reset of of my device. Will keep you posted.
  3. We can theorize on this forever and never truly understand the 'length and breadth' of the moment the material universe came into exisrence.
  4. YOu should just be able to go to the app store and update the JW Library there...let me know.
  5. I believe backing up after each time you study appears to be the way to go...also having the same articles on each device would make things less frustrating...then it comes down to memory. My iphone I just have the basic but ipad I have virtually everything on it...so I ay need to rethink my iphone usage - we will see. So far though this is an excellent upgrade...now if only it could read my thoughts, I wouldn't need to type.
  6. Got it...!! it looks very simple...almost as simple as a paper library, just less heavy! i have poked around a little this morning and will continue to do so...not sure how I will 'tag' my notes yet...but the first couple have been...'bible reading' - 'meeting comment'. But I likely will change that to 'meetings' only. Be good to see what others do here. i looked at my backup and 'all' annotations since I started using JW Library are saved! The file is only about 500 KB...it will be interesting to see how large it gets as we write our own notes. happy single App studying my brothers and sisters...
  7. Who else is checking their App Store every couple of hours...you know, just to make sure auto update doesn't miss it!
  8. Agreed...no need to write you notes in another App. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

How I Found the Truth

  • How I found the Truth
My mother got the truth after WWII - a stalwart in the congregations she was a publisher in. My father never came into the truth...and vowed that I the youngest of 4 would not become a witness. Well, he wasn't very good at promises it would seem.
Early on in my parents marriage he was very favourable and seemed to be ready to study. Unfortunately he read some apostate literature, and from that point became very opposed he separated my mother from congregations two times...moving the family to towns that had no witnesses. Naturally my mother preached where she went (1 disabled daughter and 3 boys didn't deter her) and in time congregations were formed (Thurso, Caithness Scotland; then Alness, Ross-Shire Scotland). My father as opposed as he was helped in spreading the good news. He gave up running, and over the years he mellowed; he became exceedingly hospitable to the brothers in the congregation as it grew around him. He only went to church on rememberance day...he came to the memorial regularly (I'm not sure what age I was when he started attending) he rarely missed. In the end he started attending the Public Talk and Watchtower. The first time he attended my mother was busy getting ready for the meeting...my dad gets up and starts putting on his 'Sunday best'. My mum was wracking her brain to figure out if something was going on in the town, or there was some other thing that might be related to veterans...finally she asked "where are you off to then?" He replied "I thought I would join you today". You can imagine my mothers joy! Alas he died a couple of years later. My mother was faithful in thick and thin...she lost my sister, went through other sadness but never was missing from the temple.
I'm proud to say this woman Terri Page gave me my start in the truth. I look forward to Jehovah bringing her back!
