Since Juniper originated from coniferous trees, this is one reason why they have a slight odor of woody notes attached to them. Along with these woody notes, there are also hints of Dewey, freshness when you take in the scent of juniper. It is sharp to inhale, and this is because pure juniper does smell like gin.
