  1. Hi everyone, We've come across an issue with playing videos from the JW video library. When we play a 'Sing out Joyfully'-meetings video we typically pause the video at the beginning. Once the video is fully opened it shows a "Pause" symbol (2 vertical bars) and so we click on that to temporarily pause the video. We do this so we're allowed to share the video via Zoom before continue playing it. However, with other videos from the library, when we open the video it starts playing directly though the "pause" symbol doesn't show. We can't pause the video and so the Zoom participants will miss out on the start of the video. That is, there might be another way to pause the video, for example, by pressing the 'spacebar' or another key. What is difference between a song video and another video from the library that causes this difference in behavior? Thanks for your help. --Paul

He won just 607 votes in New Hampshire. The next day, he “slept like a baby,” Mr. Dole said afterward. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk2gTC9_Fd4 After Mr. Leno mentioned research showing that Viagra might cause blindness in rare cases, Mr. Dole emerged to roars of laughter from the audience. “That’s a lot of rubbish, Jay,” he said. “I hate to see this misinformation being spread. I know a little about Viagra, Bob Dole knows a little about Viagra, and my vision is perfect. It’s 20/20. “And,” he said, pointing to Mr. Leno’s band leader, “you ought to know better, Jay Leno.”
  3. Dear friends, We use a high-quality HD video security camera to capture the stage speakers in our congregation. However, if we compare the image quality of the recorded HD video with that of what 'zoom' makes of it, it seems to have lost quite some resolution. Sometimes, it even looks like SD-quality video. Now, it's likely that zoom "transcodes' and compresses the incoming video to guarantee smooth thumbnail playback. That said though we certainly would like zoom to keep the quality of the stage recording (which is spotlighted the whole meeting). We checked all video settings to maintain HD-quality video. Does anyone have an idea on how to maintain best video quality without loss of resolution? Thanks, --Paul
  4. Being a somewhat couch potato, I tend to leave my creams around my PC. Today I found myself applying my Himalaya hair cream on my calves. I'm going to see a luxuriant growth on the one place I don't want 'fur' growing. The protein stuff did nothing for my hair though. Next on my shelf is my beloved GV moisturizer. I must put my creams on different sides of my computer to avoid future mix up.

  8. Hi Friends, I searched hi and low and to no avail, unsuccessful!! Therefore, decided to ask my wonderful astute Kingdom Pro-claimers a quick question. Do you know where I can find the back story to the sister in the picture below?
  9. For tonight's midweek meeting, I'm trying to watch the "Excerpt" for "For a Certainty God Made Him Lord and Christ." I'm using wol on my PC, but I can't get the link to work. See here: Tonight's meeting: https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/202018010 Link for "Excerpt": http://www.jw.org/finder?pub=mwbv&issue=201801&track=6 When I click on the Excerpt link, I get rerouted to jw.org homepage. Then I tried to search for the Excerpt video on jw.org > publications > videos but I can't find it. Help please?
  10. Only 4.5 hours worth but it is on youtube. If you use Firefox or Seamonkey use addon 'download video as mp4' and there is a download button below the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnnUWnnfF60
  11. Wish we had a special "tech" section on JW talk! A sister in my congregation is has a problem when downloading video's from the JWL app that I've never seen before, and so far, I haven't been able to help her or figure out why it's doing what it is doing - so I'm posting the problem in here, in hopes someone else may know what the problem is. Whenever she downloads a video - it's basically a "crap shoot" as to where it will go. She always downloads directly through the JWL app but sometimes it downloads to the app and sometimes it goes to her "gallery". When it goes to her gallery - her JWL will not show that it has been downloaded (the cloud stays on the bottom right). She then goes to her gallery to watch whatever happens to download there. Some of what she downloads through the JWL app goes directly in the app and it will show the "more" button. There seems to be no ryhme or reason for where her multi-media goes. (She has an SD card and the JWL app is set to download multimedia to her SD card - it is doing this because I went into her files to confirm it) The only thing I could figure out is that possible the JWL app has a corrupted file or something and she may need to uninstall and reinstall it. Anyone else know what is going on here? By the way, she has a Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet (8 inch) which is the same one I have (only mine is 9.7 inch) and I have no such problem with mine.
  12. Here it goes - I have been having problem's downloading and viewing video's and music through my JW Library app for a couple of months now. I was thinking that the problem was the app. Whenever I would download something to my SD card, it could play right after I downloaded but if I closed the app and restarted it and tried to play a video or music, it would tell me that "video cannot play", or "content cannot be found". It's been very frustrating. Then along came Marshmallow. I was hoping perhaps the upgrade to the new operating system would somehow magically fix this problem with JWL app - but it seemed to of gotten much worse. I decided to wipe the SD card, uninstall JWL and reinstall it. Then I redownloaded all the publications, video's and music. At first it seemed to work - the music 'took' and I can play most of the music with no problems. But any video longer than a couple of minutes gave me the same problem as before. I remembered I had bought my SD card from an Ebay seller so I went back to their feedback page to see if anyone else who bought this particular "genuine and authentic" Samsung EVO 128GB card was having any problems. Sure enough - there were at least 6 after me and all of them said that the card wasn't working properly and they found out it was counterfeit. So at least now I know what my problem has been all along and when my new GENUINE SD card comes tomorrow, I will be spending the next two days downloading everything again and hopefully with much better results. It's a small piece of wonderful techology, but if it's cheap, a counterfeit or not really made for the type of device you are using it for, you can run into problems. I thought I'd post this in case anyone else is having problems of a similar nature.
