New Game - What could you tell an faithful man or woman of old that would be hard for them to believe about our world now?

Recommended Posts

So here is the game - when faithful men and women of old are resurrected, what do you think you could tell them about the world we live in now where they would say "no way!" or "how did you survive in a world like that?" or "I find that really hard to believe".

For instance, I would tell them that in my world it became legal for homosexuals to get marrried legally and live as "wife and wife" or "husband and husband" - that would probably be both a "no way" and a "how did you survive in a world like that?" moment - even for Lot!

Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D

Probably they would be shocked how general population was dying from recreational drug overdose ...

Next on the list : global warming destroying our own home - some of the resurrected lived in a pristine conditions .

Moon Landing ?

Social paranoia of personal conversation ( face to face) texting and mobile ( cell) phones replacing communication ... Well that would be long subject to explain .....

Next: Internet itself downloading books movies instantly ..

Perhaps above subjects are not shocking enough ... But that's the list that I could come up with at 6.30 am my local time ha ha still waking up :)

Man was created as an intelligent creature with the desire to explore and understand :)

That we had a device called a computer that was linked with others around the world, and you could find an answer to any question on it... But mostly it was used to play games.

And that we could communicate face to face with anyone in another country in seconds.

Yes, that will be hard for them to believe (it's still hard for me to believe!) Another shocking rhing is that men could anatomically become women (and wanted to!!!!) And visa versa.

How could they understand being able to fly around the world in a matter of hours!!!? It was even astonishing to us when we visited a brother in AZ who used to be in our congregation. One of the first things he said was "I just got back from flying around the world!"  You did WHAT?? REALLY? Yeah, my son who flies  a Gulf Stream jet for a private company called and said he had to take some guys to Bagdad, Iraq, you want to ride along? So he flew to AZ, picked me up, we flew to Washington, DC, picked up two guys, flew to Bagdad, landed at the airport there, left them off and he said "Well I guess we'll just go on to Calif and take you back to AZ. So he really had gone around the world in a matter of hours. Hard to believe even for us.

I would like to tell them about how all the world governments turn on false religion after it's tight grip on millions of people and completely destroy it and it's false religious leaders... Then how Jehovah rescues his people after all Satan's followers turn to annihilate them.  I'm sure Daniel and his 3 Hebrew companions could understand to an extent. :)

I live in a temporary reality- awaiting the day I wake up to life in the real world!

I think they would find electricity and a box that cooks with invisible waves (microwave) hard to comprehend (I know I still do!) Plus being able to hear voices over invisible wave frequencies! (radio) Someone mentioned earlier how fast communication has gotten and how many different forms of it there are - I think it will all be hard for them to imagine since they did everything with a messenger on foot!

I never thought about medicle advances. Who knows what many of them dealt with in the way of illnesses and just ailments like bug bites and stuff. We have vacinationns and solutions to certain diseases that probably mystified them then.

I would explain how we discovered semi-conductors and managed to fit billions of transistors onto a microchip, and how we got computers to do amazing things using digital logic after which they would say: Can you explain that again from the beginning?

Mind you I got that reaction from a brother a few weeks ago :P.

Or maybe explain how most of our money exists virtually without any physical manifestation xD. At that point they may accuse me of being a practitioner of magic.

I agree with you David - even a camera would be hard to explain let alone a phone that relays messages instantly, takes pictures, connects you to everyone around the world and let you read the entire bible on it! They carried huge heavy scrolls, all we have to carry is a smartphone and we have the entire bible and many othr publications with us!

a most innovative device came about that can allow one to communicate- live and direct- with persons

    thousands of miles away.

and research history. finding intelligent answers to perplexing questions,
... it allowed one to see amazing and beautiful pictures of not only of our earth-

including magnificent views of tiny creations not visible with the naked eye-
but also fascinating images in space- moons, planets, far away galaxies, nebulas & star constellations

yet amid the self-assuming narcissism and degrading morality of the masses, it ended up being used predominantly for reporting the trivial meaningless mindless activities you did with your day.
     and for porn.

and how lovers of the true God stood out as different.

using the device to boldly and  courageously preach bible truth worldwide.

and joyfully teach people about our wonderful God. and his unchanging purpose.

where Any and All Bible questions are answered. for free.

and how Jehovah's spirit empowered them to progressively spread the good news of God's Kingdom

in over 700 languages. to the deaf. the blind. to people of all sorts...

"making disciples of all the nations"... "in all the inhabited earth."

just as Jesus said they would.

At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion,

and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening..." ~ Malachi 3:16

How you can just pick up the aforesaid gadget in your pocket and order one of a dozen varieties of pizza , delivered home in minutes in a cardboard box ( then explain pizza, then explain cardboard )

That events happening now across the world can be seem at home on a screen either small or large (or on the ubiquitous gadget in your pocket) , in colour with a commentary.

That we can listen to the voice of people dead for many decades and be entertained or informed by them , in as good as perfect sound quality.

One of the best inventions that might be hard for ancient ones to wrap their minds around is the internet for sure! (and all the devices we use to connect to it of course!) - hope we will have the opportunity to show them JW.org!
