Hello. What have been your experience buying old watchtower books from e bay if you had? Also what is your opinion on buying these old books and others for you from e-bay or other source?

Thanks sister. I understand that we have new understandings. But still some old books still have great illustrations and good statements related to our beliefs. Also I collect them. :)

I too like collecting our older publications.

I have not bought any online, but I have at old book stores - not many of those still around though. Sometimes I have picked a few up at yard sales.

You may do better befriending older friends in the congregation or circuit.  Many have left their book collections for the friends as they downsize or (sadly) die.   Our congregation is struggling to get rid of older books right now from several personal collections.

It's also the same way that I have personally received older books for our collection.

That was my suggestion too, Tammi.

Check with your secretary. Occassionally your KH library may have more than one copy sitting around. I have seen our books too at various second hand stores or book exchanges.

Not knowing how they got there and who had them, they are there now and maybe they catch the eye of another shopper and that's how they are introduced to the truth. :)

I've bought books and publications from ebay, no problems.  Most sellers are from the US, very few older publications sold in the UK.  Amazon is also a good place to find them.  I recently got a 1963 green NWT (the really thick one), that was never used from amazon for next-to-nothing.

I never liked the idea of getting in a bidding war with brothers or sisters. Let them have it and at a cheaper price. To get in a bidding war over a Kingdom publication seems wrong; It reminds me of greed and covetousness.

It may be that the lisitng was a "Buy Now" or a non bidding item. I do understand what you are expressing tho'.

 brother Quito

  in answer to your question,

yes have had good experiences & found a few WT pub gems on ebay ('buy it now' format)

... also in thrift stores, yard sales, etc...

agree with dustparticle, it's our spiritual heritage.

over the decades, our tireless brothers put much work into these teaching tools...

      LOVE our older pubs!

I too like purchasing our old publications, the illustrations are very interesting, and (as mentioned above) even though there has been new light...its cool to see how far we've come.

Also I've found local antique stores carry many of our old publications as well.
