I just stumbled across this article

http://www.jw.org/de/bibel-und-praxis/familie/teens/fragen/medien-klischees-jungs/

and immediately, the strange language on the movie posters caught my eye.

Magnimp quis earum.

Quis esciis modi.

For a brief moment, I thought it was French, but I know French pretty well and couldn't make heads or tails of it.

So upon entering these sentences into translate.google.com, this is what I brought out:

Magnim(p) quis earum.

One of them is great.

Quis esciis modi.

What kind of foods.

OR: Magnim quis earum quis esciis modi.

Any one of them any kind of food with a great mood.

I really would like to read what they wrote in the movie poster credits!

In typography samples, or when a designing a website that has no contents yet, a Latin text beginning with "Lorem ipsum" is often used as a filler. It doesn't have any meaning, it just serves to show you what the page or website would look like.

I think the brothers here tried to do something similar. They didn't wish to name any particular movies, so they used Latin sentences that don't mean anything. I would like to know what the Chinese characters mean in the second film. Probably nothing as well.

EDIT: I looked up the Chinese characters 哉士, but Google Translator just renders them as Zai Shi. Maybe a name?

Yes... but... hmmmmmm.... something (I can't put my finger on) tells me they had the James Bond movies in mind along with some Eastern martial arts action films :D

So I wonder if the brothers posing as the martial arts hero or the secret agent had fun being photographed for these pictures

That article sounds funny in Spanish. Instead of translating literally the English "Why Reject the Media Stereotype?", which is rather hard to say in Spanish, they titled it: "¿Debería ser como los machos de las películas?" (literally "Should I be like the macho guys in the movies?") :boxing:
