It is always very sad when anyone loses a home, property or valuable resources.

But, is not Lake Enriquillo the largest lake and lowest point in the Caribbean?  I am wondering why did the man in the video fail to mention that the lake is 148 feet below sea level.  Since Central America and the Caribbean are well aware of this, I'm wondering why were these folks not informed of the dangers in living near that lake.  The video showed the houses the government built to relocate people who lost their homes.  Considering there are numerous reports with videos and many photos of houses showing the very poor districts/neighbors of the Dominican Republic, those houses built by the government to relocate citizens seem nicer than what could have possibly been there in the first place.  The people are now asking for even more land for farming purposes and for other uses.  Yet, these folks have a lot of time to consume alcohol?  So, it is being blamed on global warming?  Interesting.

Always skeptical about a video when the facts aren't fully disclosed.
