How to Understand Women

Recommended Posts

I think women make it hard. If they'd admit to wanting to be loved and directed and counseled as necessary yet respected for their contribution and intelligence it would be better.

Oh dear, will I be flogged now?

I know that this is a joke so, excuse my bucket of cold water.

The lyric from Camelot is surprisingly perceptive:

“How to handle a woman?
Mark me well, I will tell you, sir
The way to handle a woman
Is to love her, simply love her
Merely love her, love her, love her"

Interestingly, and coincidentally (or, pre-incidentally), the advice from the scriptures:

Ephesians 5:28

"In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself..."

Yes, because the other saying is so true, "Hell hath no furry like a woman scorned! "

Pick your poison.

I don't envy husbands at all.  From personal experience I can say, I don't understand why I do or say most of the things I do or say, how in the world should I expect my husband to?!! But I do (and I don't know why)!  Guess I'm always hoping someone can figure me out and give me all the answers.  I think I was less confused about why I do and say certain things when I was younger.  The world is a much different place now than when I grew up and the worse things get the more it affects me  - in ways I would of never imagined.  So really, I guess it all boils down to being Satan's fault - he's the reason no one can understand women, including the women themselves!

Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D

“Man is the Reasoning Animal. Such is the claim. I think it is open to dispute. Indeed, my experiments have proven to me that he is the Unreasoning Animal... In truth, man is incurably foolish. Simple things which other animals easily learn, he is incapable of learning. Among my experiments was this. In an hour I taught a cat and a dog to be friends. I put them in a cage. In another hour I taught them to be friends with a rabbit. In the course of two days I was able to add a fox, a goose, a squirrel and some doves. Finally a monkey. They lived together in peace; even affectionately.

Next, in another cage I confined an Irish Catholic from Tipperary, and as soon as he seemed tame I added a Scotch Presbyterian from Aberdeen. Next a Turk from Constantinople; a Greek Christian from Crete; an Armenian; a Methodist from the wilds of Arkansas; a Buddhist from China; a Brahman from Benares. Finally, a Salvation Army Colonel from Wapping. Then I stayed away for two whole days. When I came back to note results, the cage of Higher Animals was all right, but in the other there was but a chaos of gory odds and ends of turbans and fezzes and plaids and bones and flesh--not a specimen left alive. These Reasoning Animals had disagreed on a theological detail and carried the matter to a Higher Court.”

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

I have found in my experience many sisters as very astute, more knowledgable; than brothers, more caring, more

willing to go the extra mile. These are women who have learned to cultivate many of the qualities described by

Solomon at Proverbs 31. They are the ones who call forth praise on themselves.

However, it is the somewhat selfish, vain, or conceited ones. and ones who think they are God's gift to men ( vain

beauties ), and who then proceed to make their men jump through hoops to please them, or try to manipulate things

in the congregation. These are hard and difficult to understand. And God help you if you cross them. They will try to make

your life a living Hell ! These are the ones that gives sisters and women in general a bad name.
