Car detailing

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a fix it up solution please.

I had bought an air difuser that you put in the vent in the car. I thought I had put it in a safe place. the oil wouldn't leak out. But it did. & the dash has bubble some.

I have Googled for ideas & went to SuperCHeap Auto.

Showed them the dash. & they suggested using a Product that cleans the wax & grease & removes it. So I tried it but didn't work. I think its a bit deeper. SO Does anyone have a suggestion Please?

Thanks Guys.

bummer Gabe sorry that happened :(

not to sound like a commercial...

  but Dawn cuts grease.

it removes oils & grease from clothes, pans, bathtubs, driveways... has many uses.

  perhaps worth a try?

vinegar too is a good-for-cleaning-just-about-anything household goodie.

i often combine it with baking soda for tougher jobs. it is also non-abrasive.

Sorry to hear about that Gabe. The bubbling in the vinyl/plastic on the dash, is probably beyond help. You will have to pull out all  the stops, and cover it with some other material.

Personally, I have found the patterned, colored duct tape to be quite handy for repairing the notebook I keep my KM's in. Had purple, but wear and tear caused me to urilize some leopard print, that I have on hand. Hate to replace anything that costs. Have better places for my cash.

Check this video out.

I was thinking hot air gun, but hadn't thought to put the pin in it (but this makes sense, as the trapped air has to go somewhere!)

Please note that glove is a heat resistant glove..... I recognize it from some of lab ovens I've worked with (we had to use those types of gloves to remove our glassware!)

Help me understand. You clipped this oil diffuser to the vent in the front of your dash. Is the front panel of the dash damaged or the top of the dash? Did you perhaps take it off the vent and lay it on top? Or is the vent it was clipped to one of the ones on the TOP of the dash?

I had bought one of the febreeze vent things, and it smelled nice, for awhile. Thought about buying a second one, then thought, "why do I want to pollute the air in my car?"

Seriously, if you can smell anything in your car, clean it out.

I mean, what is the problem with the smell of clean?

The people who own Glade, and Air wick won't like this post, but anytime you can smell an odor, you are in the presence of pollution, aren't you?

There's no problem. I like fragrance.

We'd bought the 4WD from a Sister

a window was left down & we had loads of rain. Which made a smeĺl I didnt like.
