Does the sister in your mother's car group have access to the current Morning Worship or was she referring to an older MW?

She has a family member who is doing temp work there. I guess they were in touch this morning.

I want to Join LDC. My elders encouraged my hall and also me individually to join. I have also heard many great experiences from those who are already in it. My question is, what if you have no skills to help? I have no knowledge in construction. Will I get rejected for this?

It is not so much about what you know.. But your willingness to help.. And you are willing to be taught ...

My suggestions is follow the sisters example .. My best students on RBC and LDC training at Assembly hall maintenance are the sisters .. Detail oriented and I don't have to untrain sloppy work habits ...

Just my 2 cents

Zeph 3:17 Jehovah your God is in the midst of you. As a mighty One, he will save. He will exult over you with rejoicing. He will become silent in his love. He will be joyful over you with happy cries....... Love it....a beautiful word picture.

Can someone please post the form number for the LDC application

There are several forms available depending on what you are volunteering for but you probably want the DC-50-E.

I was asking because a brother I know asked his secretary for one and was given an RBC form with an entirely different number

When I saw the LDC feature on JW Broadcasting on Sunday for family worship, that was the form that was featured. There was a construction volunteer that was approved by a local congregation (probably service committee) for a local level perspective for helping their own congregation's Kingdom Hall. From my remembering of it.

I was told there is also an A-27 for full time work of 6 months or more. I have not seen the form.

Will the recent adjustments and cutbacks have any effect on the new way halls will be built?

If I recall correctly, in the video LDC: Designing Future Kingdom Halls (http://tv.jw.org/#video/VODProgramsEvents/pub-jwbrd_201503_5_VIDEO) all the brothers stated that the new design was standardized, reducing the costs of the hall building process. So in a way, I think the adjustments really started with the change on KH constructions.

PS: I knew I saw the LMMO of the CLAMM model meeting before! (Br. Lahfdany from LDC)

When at Sunday meeting during Watchtower study, the brother substituting for the normal Watchtower Conductor said from the platform that another elder who serves as the safety overseer in rbc projects, said he was recently 'fired' from that responsibility. When the elder rose his hand to comment on that and the particular paragraph, he said the word was 'transitioned' from the responsibility. The same word used from latest JW broadcasting video of former travelling brothers to be transitioned to special pioneers.

Have anyone else heard the 'transitioning' phrase for rbc overseers phased out to the new LDC arrangement?

I haven't heard the term 'fired'. If an elder's assignment changes in the congregation, no one says he was 'fired' from one assignment and 'hired' for a different assignment..

Song 180:

"That precious book is God's own Holy Bible.

'Twas written long ago by men inspired,

By men who truly loved their God, Jehovah;

And by his holy spirit they were fired."

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

Soon .....

Every time we sing that song - it feels awkward to me.

I liked "Man and Beast, living in peace"

My BIL called it the Wedding song.... :D

OK. I guess the fellow elder was joking about it. It just caught me off guard when he said it. But was happy when the former safety overseer commented from his seat to clarify. Lol

The meaning of the word fired has changed over the last 30 years or so. It is now the accepted term for layoffs, often do to downsizing. In years past it referenced a disciplinary action for failure to perform up to the employers standards. A person might be fired for drinking on the job, or continually showing up late, etc.

I guess since downsizing is involved one could say they were fired, but it still has the wrong connotation to me. I preferred to say we were making 'reduction in force.'

Many special pioneers getting a 'reduction in force' letter this week.  :(

I am not sying I am Superman, I am only saying that nobody has ever seen Superman  and me in a room together.
