Does any of you know how I could find the current number of languages in which a specific JW publication is translated into ?

In practice, I would like to know in how many languages the fg brochure (good news from God) now exists.

You could find that brochure on JW.org, thecount the number of languages that appear in the drop-down list. Rudimentary, but it works. :-)

If you use the download URL without the langwritten parameter, select a few languages in the list on the right of the output and hit View Selection Source in your browser, you get the a long line displaying the HTML code foir the language list. Each language is prefixed with a data-index tag, counting from 0 to the number of languages the publication is available in on the website minus one. For example the brochure Good News From God is available in 375 languages. This is not the most widely translated piece of literature on the website. Listen to God and Live Forever is posted in 567 languages, and the JW.org tract (T-37) is available in 604 languages. The tracts released at the 2013 DC (T-30—T-34) are available in almost 515 languages, T-35 has 541, and the God's Kingdom is at "only" 495. I use a custom application to get these numbers, which parses JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) output, which is more easily processed programatically than the default HTML output.

Thanks, I tried but it doesn't work. The list includes languages that only have a few tracts, but not the brochure. E.g. Reunion créole.

If you use the download URL without the langwritten parameter,

Thanks, I tried but I could not go further, as I do not understand what I have to do next... :(

But anyway, you gave me the important information (Good News From God is available in 375 languages). I may use it in the special talk on A promise of perfect family happiness to show that the instructions from our Father are available in many languages. And maybe not... because the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is translated in 406 languages, so it may be more impressive to say that the texts that we will read out of the letter to the Ephesians are available in more that 1800 languages (complete greek scriptures).

Maybe I'll comme back to you just before I give the talk, to make sure of the number of languages at this particular date...
