I have been using JW Podcaster 2 to listen to the magazines on my Android phone while I drive. My wife uses it to stream to her Bluetooth while at home.

Has anyone found a better way to listen to the publications?

We have Android phones but I'm open to any suggestions for the best method, app or equipment.

download mp3 files of mags, books, etc on my computer then transfer them to microsd cards on tablet & phone. No data charges

I prefer jetaudio on all my computers & tablets, phone.  On android you have to Stop the playback before you can exit program.

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!

I have done that too. I have used my wifi to d/l the mp3s to my phone and used the stock music player. I like the UI on JWPodcaster better than the stock music player but sometimes it goofs up.

My favorite Android app I use to listen to podcasts is Pocket Casts.

The best feature of it is the ability to utilize my steering wheel controls to work the audio.  You can customize it so that the forward button will skip ahead and the reverse button will skip backwards.  You can change how much it skips forward / backward.  I have it set up to skip forward :30 seconds and skip backwards :10 seconds.  This is fantastic so that you can work your podcasts like a DVR.  My mind tends to drift and I suddenly realize I'm not paying attention to the Watchtower or Bible reading.  The skip backwards is a truly wonderful ability to catch back up!

Thanks! I'll try it.

Thanks. I have used JWReader to read the PDF's but I uninstalled it when I started to use Moon Reader and JWLibrary to read the magazines. I didn't use JWReader to listen to the magazines, I'll try it.

You can set it up to use moon reader when you click on a a magazine. When you press and hold options are displayed. One of them is "listen". That takes you to a player to play the audio.

I just have found it a nice way to keep things organized. There are screenshots on his site where you would down load it. Check it out.

I just started listening to the magazines, and I had forgotten how much more I retain when I receive information orally, as compared to just reading the material! When I was in school, I made my mom quiz me for tests and exams, as I would remember more from listening to her as she corrected my answers, than I did from reading the material over and over! This will definitely become part of my routine.

Very nice!

I like to listen first and read it later. I found that if I use two senses (sight & sound) at different times that I retain it better.
