The brother that gave our PT today had a beautiful illustration that converted a thousand years into a 24 hour day and then talked about how many hours or minutes there were between events. Has anyone seen anything like that?

It says...

1 DAY TO JEHOVAH IS 1000 YEARS TO US

6 DAYS AGO: Adam and Eve appeared on the scene and sinned...and Jehovah made immediate plans to fix the situation.

39 HOURS AND 45 MINUTES LATER: Jehovah prevented the demons from returning to their original position and the flood took place, cleansing the earth...fresh start for humans.

10 HOURS LATER: The covenant was made with Abraham promising the ransom. The next day, the law covenant outlined the details of the ransom and plans were made for the ransom to be paid.

ONE DAY, ONE HOUR AND 48 MINUTES LATER: The ransom was paid.

TWO HOURS AND 15 MINUTES AGO: Jesus was enthroned and cleansed the heavens and finalized the Kingdom arrangement....

SO, IT WILL ALL BE OVER IN JUST A FEW MINUTES!!

Found the following information for you Brother Richard.   I've used it several times in my answers at meeting.

1 second in Jehovahs time is 4 days, 5 hours and 25 minutes in our time.

1 minute equals 8 months, 9 days and 20 hours in our time.

So, if Jehovah can answer our prayers in an instant (which he often does), it is obviously in a micro nano second of time to him.   And if he does tell us  'give me a minute to manouver things', we can see now why we can think he's not answering.

I know of a sister who was so down and despondent at having no friends in her congregation (yes, it does happen) and she prayed so long and hard for Jehovah to find her a friend in the congregation and five or six months later, a mother and daughter missionary couple returned home from overseas, moved into her congregation and they became very close friends.   They all moved to different congregations a few years later, but are still close friends.   Amazing isnt it?

Interestingly Psalm 90:4 states:

4 For a thousand years are in your eyes just as yesterday when it is past, Just as a watch during the night.

So perhaps the thousand years equalling one day, to Jehovah, at 2Pe 3:8 is figurative? It just meaning that Jehovah views time differently than we do?

The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole obligation of man. Ec 12:13

Absolutely. It's just to illustrate there is a different perspective of time between human creatures and spirit beings.

Don't take the chart and math in this topic as being literal, it's just to help us puny human understand something we can't understand. :)
