Name that baby!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!. My daughter is about to give birth to a baby girl. It seems that your perfectly nice names are not unique enough for today's parents. Does anyone have a suggestion that I can pass along to her and her husband??

Don't anyone tell her I posted this here....... Haha!

my last child turned out to be a boy but if he had been a girl I would of called her Denee pronounced like Renee.

My grandchild's name is Caden and that name and all that rhymes with it has been overdone in the last 10yrs.

I see that many people are going back to older names like Violet.

You might want to ask more specifics about what the new parents are looking for.

I always thought "Darla" from the little rascals was cute.  I like Tessa too (I have no children but of often thought of names).  Please do your grandchild a BIG favor and give her a name she won't have to spell to everyone she meets!  I have one of those names and I hate having to spell it all the time and most of the time people still don't get it right.  I long for something simple like Ann, Jane or Sue!  I noticed it's a trend now to name girls "Harper" as well (that's my maiden name, so this surprises me).

Darla Hood! Alfalfa's crush. There's an echo, yoo hoo. I wish I used Alfalfa's "I'll be loving you (double Oh, double OH) for my wedding song, but I did not catch that hubby would never acquiesce to any of my predilections. Spanky and our Gang represented a simpler, but not perfect, time. I have to spell my last name (married name) to everyone.

My sister-in-law's first name is Faith. She actually goes by her middle name, Joy.

I have come across these names that are not too common:

Lettice

Hyacinth

Ambrosia

and we have a daughter named Melodie
