Nice Science Book to each your kids about Intelligent Design

Recommended Posts

Here is a nice book with workbook, and video that can be used to equip your kids to talk about the evidence supporting a Creator.  You child will have the foundation to talk to anybody about proof for a creator. It will be faith strengthening and help him talk to people in the ministry who do not believe in God. He will be able to think critically about claims of evolution and see why he should reject them. This is the same group of people the Watchtower Society gets its information on Intelligent Design. Its the same information but goes deeper. This is for schools or home schools

See the video below here:

Here is a description: ""Developed for middle-school-age students to adults, Discovering Intelligent Design is the textbook component of a comprehensive curriculum that presents both the biological and cosmological evidence in support of the scientific theory of intelligent design. The curriculum is divided into six modules exploring topics such as the origin and development of the universe, the origin of biological complexity, the fossil record’s evidence (or lack thereof) for universal common descent, and the broader cultural debate over intelligent design.

Here is the link to the complete bundle but you can also buy each piece separately:

Often when I see the words intelligent design it turns out to be a supporter of scientific creationism. That is a group of people who believe the universe was created about 6,000 years ago in days that were 24 hours in length. Not very scientific or very scriptural.

I don't know about that bro. I do know that opponents of Intelligent Design try to conflate the two groups by calling it Intelligent Design Creationism. If ID were Creationism, then I doubt very seriously that the Faithful Slave would be using its publications and terminology. The two are totally different. Creation Science has to do with proving that the Bible is scientifically factual--believing typically, but not always in 6 literal days of creation.  ID is just science and looking for proof of design and causes that cannot be explained by natural law.

Best wishes.

I believe in creation being scientific. I believe in intelligent design. But the group using the term scientific creationism believed in creative days being 24 hours each. Actually there beliefs were neither scientific nor scriptural. This same group has used the term intelligent design also. That is why I always want to check when I here the words intelligent design.

I understand you.  However, the distinction is that Intelligent design is not scriptural based at all. It is just science with no appeal to holy writ of any kind. Being neutral as it is, it could appeal to Judaism, ChristianDumb, or Islam. Intelligent Design is also compatible with Theistic evolution which is not compatible with any form of Creationism that I know of. The Discovery Institute doesn't have a patent on the terminology. anyone can use it.

Religious people too may have preconceptions that distort their attitude toward science. For instance, as mentioned earlier, some creationists cling to the erroneous notion that God formed the world in six literal days a few thousand years ago.

*** g 9/06 p. 3 Whom Should You Believe? ***
ARE JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES CREATIONISTS?
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe the creation account as recorded in the Bible book of Genesis. However, Jehovah’s Witnesses are not what you might think of as creationists. Why not? First, many creationists believe that the universe and the earth and all life on it were created in six 24-hour days some 10,000 years ago. This, however, is not what the Bible teaches. Also, creationists have embraced many doctrines that lack support in the Bible. Jehovah’s Witnesses base their religious teachings solely on God’s Word.

There are quite a few Creationists who do not believe in 6 24-hr days of Creation.  I do agree with you thought that most of them do.  And technically JWs are what is termed "progressive Creationists."  We just avoid the term to avoid confusion.

Progressive creationism is the belief that God created new forms of life gradually over a period of hundreds of millions of years. As a form of old earth creationism, it accepts mainstream geological and cosmologicalestimates for the age of the Earth, some tenets of biology such as microevolution as well as archaeology to make its case. In this view creation occurred in rapid bursts in which all "kinds" of plants and animals appear in stages lasting millions of years.

It seems that you and I are on the same page. The term Intelligent Design just makes me stop and wonder if it is creationists that are using it.

Wish I had that book and video to teach my 3 grandsons.
