This is very bad for France, and those terrorists know it will upset the political scene there, as they are due to start the voting process for a new president.  There are two outlier candidates that seem possible to make an impact in the polls, because they are advocating stringent immigration policies, along with stronger tariffs and a "Frexit".  Very similar to the Trump dialogue, very different candidates to the usual rich French immaculately suited politicians of the past.  Current president Francois Hollande has a rating of just 4% in the polls, very unpopular with his countrymen.

The result will have major ramifications for the country, continent and potentially the globe.

The head of state in France has enormous power, particularly over foreign affairs.

Also, if anyone but Mr Fillon wins, the country will have an "outsider" as a president — and who probably won't have much parliamentary support.

Those who advocate terrorism as their voice will have a field day.  It will scare so many already jittery people and certainly influence the voting outcome.

Keep safe my brothers and sisters!
