My husband, who is a witness (for 10 years) isn't really interested in seeing this movie (because it doesn't involve a comic book character) so I mentioned it to a previous bible study and now she wants to see it!!! I haven't told her anything about the "Witnesses" in this movie so I'm looking forward to seeing her reaction to this movie if we actually get to see it together.

  6. Is anyone is into soap making, essential oils or other items? I'd love to learn from and share with you. Not interested in any of the MLM/network mrktg programs, just like the topic. I make my own laundry & dish detergents and thinking about trying soap making. Look forward to hearing and learning. Agape'

  7. The relief will be something we probably can't imagine based on our imperfect facuties. For instance, there was a blue, hard covered book, something about the incoming king, Jesus of course. Anyway, it said that after or when Jesus throws sick Satan and his demons into the abyss we will actually feel the effects. In other words, we won't merely know it happened because we read it and believe it but we will also know it happened because we will FEEL it. THAT is another thing I can hardly wait for!

I used to have a picture of our entire family at the base of this tree, but somehow I can't find it. Awesome trees. We used to take the kids camping at Sequoia National Park.

    The President

I received this in an email today: It takes a special kind of tree to have a nickname. Not every tree has a nickname, but 'The President' has earned it. This giant sequoia stands at 247 feet tall, and is estimated to be over 3,200 years old. Imagine, this tree was already 1200 years old when Jesus walked the earth. The trunk of the president measures at 27 feet across, with 2 BILLION needles from base to top.

  19. Pope Francis states that free speech has limits with regards to religion. He feels that you should not be able to speak against someone else's religion. PM Cameron speaks out against his statement saying it is dangerous to restrict speech and no one should take offense if someone talks badly about them or makes fun of their religion it is a basic freedom that is important to keep. http://news.yahoo.com/cameron-rebuts-pope-speech-offensive-religion-200406420.html

  20. I just buy what I need from Norma. I was going to try and learn when we had a jersey cow but my husband's arthritic hands couldn't milk anymore so there went the cow. I love goat's milk on my skin and Norma has so many fragrances that are just wonderful. My husband is allergic to scents but we have tried almost every scent Norma makes and he isn't allergic to any of them so she must use really good oils. My favorite is eucalyptus but it was outstock, shame on you Norma. lol

  21. Interesting article Catrina. Hopefully the Pope doesn't get too rattled about our comments we sometimes make. P.M. Cameron mentioned that he is also a Christian...Hmm. Jesus had full freedom of speech in his day...condemning the religious leaders and their hypocrisy...

  22. If this is where it begins, where does it end ? The straw that breaks the camels back leading to the crackdown where the nations enforce and can claim Peace and Security ? The Great Tribulation ? or Armageddon ? We live in awesome and momentous times. GStorrs46

  23. I think no ancient culture would understand abortion. Everybody was crazy with having children. Having many children was the biggest blessing one could hope for. And now people get an abortion just because it's not the proper time or they don't want to be distracted from their professional careers. Scary!

My sister/chick Leesa and I went after the Sunday meeting a couple of weeks ago and had a great time! It was like a real special date except there was no hand holding or kiss goodnight! :>) We went out and ate, then went to the newly renovated theater--plush leather recliner seats which had heaters and massage in the seats, drinks they would deliver to your seat, and you could even order a cocktail if so desired. But we decided to drink our $15.00 soda and share the buttered popcorn and carefully watch the story unfold. I am glad Musky (I think it was Musky) who said Sister Keeane had a cameo role on a park bench, or we would have missed her. We both spotted her at the same time and excitedly WHISPERED at the same time, "there she is" only to be "shhhhsed" by our companions in the theater. Then we composed ourselves and grappled over the last few kernels of corn. We could go get a free refill on the popcorn but neither one of us could talk the other one into going to get it and missing a minute of the movie. Also, when the two sisters were walking up the sidewalk we noticed they were holding the study book outward where you could see what they were carrying. This later gave us more reason to talk about how they use to do things as compared to now. It seems like I remember hearing somewhere along the way that we use to carry literature as such to be identified readily as opposed to now where we discreetly carry it and perhaps may not even use if for the first visit or two. Could someone that has been witnessing many years confirm this? Anyway, it was a lovely day! Began with worship to our creator and ended with warm friendship and a fuzzy feeling knowing that if it were not for Jehovah I would have never met Leesa or had any reason to socialize with her. Jehovah brings so many people together that would never have been friends or associations in real life. What a wonderful God we are privileged to serve! We had such a good time we plan on making this a monthly thing. Only think is we will change it to a week day matinee and carry a snack in our purse.

  29. Bacon is delicious cooked with some greens - turnip, mustard, kale, cabbage or collard, or a combination of your choice - with steaming buttered corn bread on the side to sop up the juice. One of the few things that tastes great and is good for you. The only way I would eat brussels sprouts is with either bacon or ham cooked with it. MMMM. Or, Canadian ham -- tastes like a cross between bacon and ham - yummy, ay?

Because of its unbelievable size, this tree has never been photographed in its entirety. Until now. A team of National Geographic photographers have worked along with scientists to try and create the first photo that shows the president in all its glory. hey had to climb the tree with pulleys and levers, and took thousands of photos. Of those, they selected 126 and stitched them together, to get this incredible portrait of the President. And here it is:

I think a lot of Witnesses are missing this point. A sister I know was disappointed in the movie. She didn't feel it wen't far enough. Basically, she wanted to see a movie version of the '75 Awake article. Well, that's not going to happen and that wasn't the subject of the movie. The subject was how Margaret Keane came forward as the real painter and the subsequent lawsuit. However, I think this sister missed or ignored the fact that, while brief, Witnesses are portrayed as quite normal, very favorable and as the missing piece to Margaret's life puzzle. Walter Keane is in one scene running down Witnesses and he sounds quite laughable. To the best of my knowledge this is the only movie that has ever portrayed us realistically and in a very positive light. The presentation the two sisters give sounds just like a demonstration at the Kingdom Hall. If anyone else knows of a better one, please share. This movie can only serve as a positive witness.
