How Do you Picture the Day AFTER Armageddon
A fellow servant and 4 others reacted to PhilipNZSL for a topic
It is reasonable to expect physical healing immediately after the great tribulation, but not perfection. For myself, I am an insulin dependant diabetic, I cant imagine surviving through the great tribulation and then dying. It doesn't seem to fit with the bible, although I don't think there is a firm promise on this. I imagine similar to others comments gathering together and praising Jehovah will be a major part of the days after the great tribulation. Then there will be a lot of work to accomplish, cleaning up the earth, constructing houses and places of worship, bible study work on a scale never before seen, new scrolls to be opened. It will be interesting times, and times that it can be good to keep an open mind on, patiently awaiting the outworking of Jehovahs purpose.5 points -

It is a little tricky. You have to make sure you copy the link from the version of the video that does not say "embedded". It should just show the YouTube website and the number of the video (v=nnBmyudRWgs) Copy that link into a text editor, like "Notepad", etc. And then copy and paste it into the forum from that. This will remove the hyperlink that takes you to the YouTube website and allows our embedded player to play the video.2 points

I can just see you. You so happy (and possibly shocked that you made it) that you go into a few days of thanksgiving and absolute amazement. After about days you suddenly remember you supposed to take insulin, but somehow you don't need it. THEN you go into another few days of frenzied joy. Just imagine...2 points

The consent laws are ridiculous And I've ranted about them before. If he is 15 and she us 15, it os is ok legally for them to have sex. However, if one of them is 19, then it's a crime. Depending on where you live, 16 is age of consent. That 1 year makes a difference. Satan's world does not view sex before marriage as wrong or unnatural. Therefore they have to make consent laws. Biblically, there is no age of consent. Sex is for married people and toy should get married after bloom of youth. That eliminates the need for consent laws. Prostitution laws are another example of Satan's stupidity. Sex is legal but paying for sex is illegal. However, paying people to have sex in porn movies is legal. Likewise, having sex with multiple people, not being monogamous and having babies with different daddies or mommies is legal, but polygamy is illegal. It's all crazy and contradictory. All because humans ignore Jehovah's clear guidelines about sex and marriage. Stop the insanity.2 points

I have a brother-in-law who is an elder and he went to see the documentary on global warming when it came out and unfortunately it was rated "R" because some of the once they interviewed in the documentary used unsavory language. My brother-in-law felt it was worth wading through to get the information this documentary presented. I'm afraid bad language is all around in every form of life (if you don't believe me, just count how many swear words you hear the next time you go to Wal-Mart!) just like homosexuality is, sometimes we can't foresee when we will run into it, other times WE CAN, those are the times we all need to make a decision based on our conscience and on the consciences of others when necessary. Funny, growing up as a kid, the words we were taught that were "bad" and not to say are now nothing! (We were taught not to say crud, fart, cop (disrespectful to police) and several other words that no one has a problem with now. It's the same principle as when the dance "the twist" came out in the 50's - the organization warned against doing it but would anyone really have a problem with it now? We live in an ever changing world as we strive to stick to Jehovah's standards (not his rules) so that gives us freedom to use our free will and bible trained conscience in certain matters like this one.2 points

It's a unique situation Simon. If the children's heart is with Jehovah, there are many things they can do in support of Kingdom Interests. Jehovah’s organization have given the believing mother and children the best tools. They can have an audio /video link for the meetings ;They can informal witness;and if so, they can take the or stand on not hiring involved with false worship. Families like that need to be in our prayers. The better judge Jehovah, got their back. ☺2 points

I always consider someone with a prosthetic leg, who is able to get around quite well, considering. If the actual leg grows back slowly, over a period of time, the prosthetic leg won't fit properly, it will make the growing leg too long with, and too short without it. The person is actually worse off for the time being. Or, if you wear dentures and your teeth come back gradually - now your dentures won't fit, but you're also not able to eat (let alone the embarrasment of walking around without teeth...). Now as for getting a perfectly toned body... that will take time1 point

How Do you Picture the Day AFTER Armageddon
A fellow servant reacted to Jako for a topic
Thank you Br. Jerry As soon as I read it I rmembered that piece. I looked around some more and found the exact same in the RS book op p 340 The it-2 792 uses the same figures but there it states that it is by way of illustration. The exact number of humans who have ever lived is unknown to humans. However, by way of illustration, if Jehovah resurrects 20 billion (20,000,000,000) people, there would be no problem as to living space and food for them. The land surface of the earth at present is about 148,000,000 sq km (57,000,000 sq mi), or about 14,800,000,000 ha (36,500,000,000 acres). Even allowing half of that to be set aside for other uses, there would be more than a third of a hectare (almost 1 acre) for each person. Anyway. Jehovah knows what he is doing, so no question really about how it will be done, but these thoughts just makes me wonder how busy we will be during the 1000 years. I hope very. I can imagine internet infrastructure still be around. How about assemblies and conventions where talks are delivered direct fro HO. It is already in the making. All in All. I can't wait...1 point -

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/04/110410130831.htm Some organic foods shown to be surrounded by a "health halo" that is not based on science. Psychologists have long recognized that how we perceive a particular trait of a person can be influenced by how we perceive other traits of the same individual. An example of this would be judging an attractive person as intelligent, just because he or she is good-looking. A growing literature base suggests that the halo effect may also apply to foods, and ultimately influence what and how much we eat. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/04/130401121506.htm In a new study, researchers show that an organic label can influence much more than health views: perceptions of taste, calories and value can be significantly altered when a food is labeled "organic". Certain people also appear to be more susceptible to this 'health halo' effect than others. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/08/140827111944.htm A growing number of consumers are willing to pay a premium for fruits, vegetables and other foods labelled 'organic,' but whether they're getting what the label claims is another matter. Now scientists studying conventional and organic tomatoes are devising a new way to make sure farms are labeling their produce appropriately. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/06/140613130717.htm Health-related buzzwords, such as 'antioxidant,' 'gluten-free' and 'whole grain,' lull consumers into thinking packaged food products labeled with those words are healthier than they actually are, according to a new research study. That "false sense of health," as well as a failure to understand the information presented in nutrition facts panels on packaged food, may be contributing to the obesity epidemic in the United States, researchers say. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/09/100907071239.htm Food manufacturers advertise a variety of foods on grocery store shelves by using nutrient claims on the front of packaging. New research evaluates how consumers are interpreting certain carbohydrate-related content claims and the effects of claims on consumer perceptions of food products. Findings from the study reveal that consumers misinterpret low carbohydrate claims to have health benefits and weight loss qualities beyond their nutrition facts. Some interesting reads.1 point -

Lloyd I agree with you. The big Pharma has had a hand in food production for many reasons, they have altered the main food supply available to most in the world. A sis here went to Portugal for 6 months, she said she could eat almost everything and had no problems. The people grew their food and ate what was from the farm. As soon as she came back she was getting a gut ache from lots of foods, especially the ones you mentioned. A big culprit, we must all agree, is the overconsumption of sugar. It's like a pervasive weed in everything we eat, even vitamins and toothpaste. Added to that is the way commercialism has manipulated people into believing they need to eat, boxed this or the 'super fast' that. In the 1950's the TV dinner came out in mass production and the population hasn't looked back. Another one I've been keeping an eye on is liquid oils. Avocado and olive oil are natural liquid oils. But the studies on others, at least as far as today, are scary. http://www.realfoodwholehealth.com/2011/01/why-vegetable-oils-are-dangerous-to-your-health/. And even though some balk or look horrified at lard or bacon grease they are actually better for you. People didn't have issues until all the processed oils were introduced. I'm not a flag waving nature nut, but I do believe in education about what we eat. I'm firmly convinced we have only relative control over our food. It may be labeled 'Organic" but the growing process is still in a polluted environment and who's to say the seed they use isn't secreted in GMO? We literally are held captive by this system, we can modify what we do, work at doing our personal best but we still are in satan's system.1 point -

I was thinking about what we'd be allowed to "take". Thinking of Akan who took what was devoted to destruction. My daughter was joking in the car the other day, asking me if I've seen the beautiful house two blocks away from ours. She said she was eyeing that one to move into after Armageddon. Now, if Jehovah says that we shouldn't do that, or not to go to the local store and take anything, or maybe take what you need but not an ounce more, and someone does.1 point -

The relief will be something we probably can't imagine based on our imperfect facuties. For instance, there was a blue, hard covered book, something about the incoming king, Jesus of course. Anyway, it said that after or when Jesus throws sick Satan and his demons into the abyss we will actually feel the effects. In other words, we won't merely know it happened because we read it and believe it but we will also know it happened because we will FEEL it. THAT is another thing I can hardly wait for!1 point -

Well, we had Br. Morris visit our branch here in South Africa with the climax being Sunday's program. The program was streamed to all area under the SA Branch's supervision. That's most of Africa. Interesting developments. 1. A warehouse and AV Studio being built at the moment. The warehouse is big enough to house three Boeing 747s. All warehousing for the SA Branch areas will be done here. The AV Studio to be one of the most advanced to date with classrooms to train Audio Visual & broadcasting specialists. 2. SA branch now cares for 10% of publisher worldwide I cnnot recall the amount of translations and languages printed here. But it was mind boggling. 3. RTO's (Regional Translation Offices) is in the process of being established. (I'm sure this is a worldwide initiative though). In SA alone we have 9 official languages. So the translators now live and work in the area where the language is spoken. Makes for more accurate and easier reading & study material. 4. And a few more statistics that I cannot recall. (I'm not a keen note taker) Br. Morris talk was direct as usual. And I loved it. The normal "No recordings" etc. announcement was made, so I'll just say what he spoke about and maybe not the details. (OK. Not too much). He mentioned that this was not a public talk but a service talk and therefore aimed at baptised persons. (I think that explains why not spread it on media & internet) Brs. or Srs moving from one Congregation to another if they cannot get along with someone. The point is, face your trials and grow through them. Don't run from it. His words was, "Just stop, stop, stop doing that" Bearing SA's racially divided background in mind, he spoke about how we in Jehovah's Organisation should guard against getting caught up in this worldly trend. Last year, the GB introduced an initiative where congregations from different backgrounds would join another congregation from a different background for a week. During that week, some of us would attend the meetings and join the field arrangements (working in that territory of course) and then enjoy some social activity together. (I personally have made some great friends this way). Br. Morris announced that that initiative was such a great success in breaking down these racial barriers, that it is to be continued this year. His words about this racially divided worldly trend was, No, not in this organisation you don't. Not here. He spoke to inactive publishers. We often read Mt 24:14 but hardly consider verse 13 together with that. Those who endure to the end will be saved, then verse 14 says this good news will be preached, clearly tying the enduring in the preaching work in with, those who will be saved. He said, those who are inactive should not expect any favors from Jehovah when the time comes. Mmmmm..... I'm possibly overstepping the info boundaries so I'll stop now. We did have a good laugh at his jokes also. He is as funny as he is straight. And you can just feel the humbleness radiate even via stream.1 point -

What I appreciate about this is the conviction expressed by the children, although young. And it's highlighted more than once in the article. And the obvious uncomfortable position of the judge, who has the responsibility of dispensing judgement through a flawed legal system. Ashley, I feel the same way. We must not underestimate Jehovah's power to help and support these children. If they keep feeling the way they supposedly do now they will find ways to serve Jehovah. Look how many have been in adverse situations and succeeded.1 point

I have lost 30 pounds since March. No secret and no special diet. I got rid of junk food and fast food, eating lots of veggies and fruits and walking 5 days a a week and drinking lots and lots of water. Eating less red meet and more fish and chicken. I am not counting calories or anything else. That is it. Back to the basics.1 point -
My wife and I have found the low carb diet to be very effective. At first it is easy, steaks, bacon, eggs cheese and a reasonable of vegetables and fruit. Loved it. Now an interesting thing, when we are adhering to our low carb diet, even with eggs every day, butter as needed, lots of cheese, salt everything to taste and all the other seemingly wrong things we consume, our cholesterol levels get very low and same for our blood pressure. Go figure. The only problem with a low carb diet is after a year or so it gets boring . Then we slowly revert to potatoes and pasta, hamburger buns. Oh yes curry gravy with rice and beautiful wonderful bread ! I went on a low card diet for six months to get my weight down to go on a cruise (See my avatar). By the time our cruise* was over I no longer fit that tux and haven't since. *Those of you that have been on a cruise know the problem. Those that haven't been on a cruise, the problem is food, food, food.1 point
