  4. "He warned that their belief was not consistent with biblical teaching, adding that if such teaching is followed it could lead their members to imbibe false doctrine that could lead them to hell." Wow that's some irony right there..... Anyhow, I have no opinions for you bro, you know the facts. This IS Satan's system, and yes, we MUST respect the authorities and laws but we are still citizens of the Jehovah's Kingdom under Christ Jesus. Here's an upbuilding thought, however: The brothers here in Germany, 70 years ago, went to concentration camps because they refused to be part of an earthly Kingdom, despite the bible's command to respect the worldly authorities. Think about that for a minute. And we in Germany have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Many people respect this decision. According to this pastors logic, Jehovah's Witnesses should have served Hitler. And we don't even need to discuss whether that is the case. We can be so proud of our strict, Christian neutrality!!!

  6. Hey Renee, Android update isn't apparently happening now for us Android users. It'll be a matter of time. The only thing we need now is patience. Sidethought : Maybe apple mobile device users get the update first probably because of not having wtlib cdrom files for Apple computers. Maybe FDS have computer program sympathy for Apple Computers because of such. Lol ☺

  10. Your post made water come out of my eyes! I love cats and have all my life and I always had a cat until we moved to Alaska 40 yrs ago. After I began having health problems and was home most of the time, I asked Tom for a cat and he always said "No, no pets in the house" but up here you can't have an outdoor cat --(too cold in winter and too many prey birds and animals in the summer). I gave up, but my kids and the friends in the cong. put the pressure on hubby until one day when we went to town he drove over to the pet shelter and told me to go find a cat. Almost immediately, I spotted her- a little black and grey striped cat like I wanted. I named her Kitten Kaboodle, KK for short. I can't tell you how much I loved that fur baby. She was like no cat I had ever had. Then Tom suggested we get her a companion and right away the new cat attached to Tom. The people at the shelter said it was a male but we said it was a "she". Sure enough, it was a she and my daughter said her name should be "Heeshee" and so it was. A few months later, KK started acting strangely and it got worse and the vet said that maybe she had a brain tumor but by this time we had to make the decision to not it get worse. The cost to care for her was going be more than we could afford. When I read about your son, it brought it all back to me-the loss of my KK. AT TIMES LIKE THIS YOU JUST CAN'T CRY HARD ENOUGH !! It's just a cat but those paw prints on your heart just can't be erased very quickly. We still have Heeshee and she gets all the loving now. She has made great big paw prints on Tom's heart--and mine too. Tell your son I know exactly how he feels and I loved the poem Sharon sent.

  12. The Lost Verses of Genesis 2 Just as Adam finished naming all the animals he got very depressed, he realised he was the only one who didn't have mate, a companion to love and to cherish. Jehovah could see that Adam wasn't very happy so he took him aside about the breezy part of the day and spoke to him. He told Adam that he was going to create a companion for him. She would be everything he had ever dreamed of. She would be beautiful, she would do everything for him. Cook for him, clean for him and do all the things he didn't like doing. She would wait on him hand and foot, pampering to his every need. Adam was ecstatic, his mood changed in an instant and he praised his heavenly Father for his loving compassion. Jehovah then said: "There is a catch though. She will cost you an arm and a leg." Adam thought about it for a moment and said: "What can I get for a rib?". The rest is history.

  13. There is also a feature to update your publications. When a current item is out of date and you try to open it you are given the option to download the new version. There's also a "Pending Updates" section to download all updates at once in the "Downloaded" section if you have at least one update available.

  16. I hadn't noticed this before, is this a new feature in the update? On an iPad, select a word and you will get the usual popup menu with the options "Copy, Define, Topics, Search". I hadn't noticed the "Topics" option before. It doesn't appear with every word, and I'm guessing this is linked to the index. Taping the "Topics" option gives you this menu. I apologise if this is an old feature that everyone, except me, knew of. I like the additional languages, and the enhanced publications section including the option to download videos from JW Broadcasting. Just in time for February's program. I'd love the addition of the Study Watchtower, plus the ability to highlight and attach notes, etc. Plus the ability to display multiple Bible verses in different languages in a similar way that Equipd did. I use that a lot in Field Service. Oh, and the ability to sort publications by name or date.

  19. One video I SOO LOVE (which is available on Jw Broadcast and the app) is TOUR OF THE SOUTH AFRICA MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT. The animation the Brothers done was so cheeky:D actually did anyone notice how the Brothers done the Jw.org logo in older videos? Their sense of humor is refreshingly Human. It reminds me about angels who didn't write the Bible because they wouldn't understand human ideas. This is the same.

  21. Saturday, January 31 Look out.—Col. 2:8. “The philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men,” spoken of at Colossians 2:8, surfaces today in the worldly thinking promoted by many intellectuals. Higher education, with its emphasis on academic study, often produces graduates who have few or no practical skills, leaving them unprepared to deal with the realities of life. By contrast, Jehovah’s servants choose education that helps them to develop the necessary skills so that they can maintain a simple life of service to God. They take to heart the counsel Paul offered Timothy: “To be sure, it is a means of great gain, this godly devotion along with self-sufficiency. So, having sustenance and covering, we shall be content with these things.” (1 Tim. 6:6, 8) Rather than acquiring secular degrees and titles after their names, true Christians focus on obtaining “letters of recommendation” by engaging as fully as possible in the field ministry.—2 Cor. 3:1-3. w13 10/15 2:13

  29. Brigette (shali)... We think alot alike. Some people think that ALL the clean up work will depend on us and the birds. I think Jehovah is much more loving than that. Why would he want us to deal with the filthy, disgusting things of this old system. The dangerous pesticides plants, the chemical filled water filtration places. The chemical laden pharmaceutical labs and testing facilities, with all those poor animals in the process of being tested on. The massive feed lots, most (not all) with cows and chickens and pigs and lamb all in terrible condition. The filthy adult bookstores with all their depraved videos and other things that can be purchased. All the stores that have satanic items in them or drug related items... why would our loving Jehovah have us deal with these things. I don't know what will happen but I hope the ground opens up and we see the filth disappear right in front of our eyes. Yes there will be lots of work.. yes I imagine there will be many things that can be reused... but in my dreams.... it's a fresh start. I could be wrong. I am really looking forward to seeing how it all comes about. all my brothers and sisters out there. I will be so glad to be on the other side of all this mess. I will not grieve for anyone that did not make it. Be it friend, relative, mate or child. I trust that Jehovah will ALWAYS make the right decision and I will not feel bad for the person that he did not choose.

  31. we certainly seem to have entered a new phase. After these latest terrorist attacks in Paris, all the political news is full of rhetoric against extremism and a cry for the world governments to do something about it and It no longer seems such a big leap to destroy false religion! It just reminds us how quick world events can change and be turned completely upside-down. Will this year prove to be the final stretch leading up to the cry of 'Peace and Security'? We can only watch with bated breath as world leaders try desperately to stop the world descending into chaos! Thanks be to Jehovah that we have the hope and know the Truth in these perilous times! 34. He also stressed that 2015 must be a year for global action. “We must change course if we are to avoid even greater damage to ourselves and to our planet,” said Mr. Ban, explaining that like the gathered leaders, he too must emphasize the importance of his mandate, and, as UN Secretary-General, he must spotlight 2015 as “most important and crucial for humanity.” This is because there are three important priorities that must be achieved during the year, which also marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations: making the final push to achieve the landmark UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs); crafting a post-2015 development agenda with a set of sustainable development goals; and agreeing on a universal and meaningful climate change agreement in December in Paris. With all this in mind, the Secretary-General said the world had a very important enabling factor that would help in reaching those objectives: the upcoming UN conference on financing for development, set to be held in July in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. That and other meetings throughout the year would aim at mutually reinforcing goals: to map out a new era of development that strengthens equity and fosters inclusive growth and climate action. On the margins of the Summit, the Secretary-General met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Ban thanked India for its significant contribution to UN peacekeeping operations, as well as to the Organizations conflict prevention and humanitarian efforts. The two also discussed, among others, the need for action on climate change, the post-2015 development agenda, and regional issues. The UN chief also met with United States Secretary of State John Kerry, and the two leaders discussed international peace and security issues, including UN efforts to address the crisis in Libya, the urgency of returning to negotiations to achieve a two state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the need for progress on nuclear disarmament of the Korean Peninsula.

But why Jehovah did you make her so irresistible? Jehovah: So you could fill the earth Adam. Adam: Oh thank you Jehovah! But why did you make her smell so sweet? Jehovah: So you would remember her scent and long for her Adam. Adam: Oh, thank you Jehovah! But why did you make her so dumb? Jehovah: So she would love YOU Adam!

  43. When my wife was very pregnant with one of our children she approached me with a dilemma. She said she was getting annoyed with the fact that the shower floor was unclean but she couldn't bend down to clean it. Being the loving and caring husband that I am I went to the shop and bought her a long handled brush. I thought this would solve her problem and put me in her good books. It didn't. To this day I don't know why. I was just trying to help.

  46. When offering the tract "Wife in a Peaceful New World" we could ask a thought provoking question. What did the first perfect man, the strongest man and the wisest imperfect man have in common? Then we can show them Genesis 3:12, Judges 16:15-17 and 1 Kings 11:4. The conclusion we come to is that all of them had nagging wives and they all caved in which brought God's disfavour. We can then point out God's promise of a New World where our wives will no longer nag us. How sweet that will be! Showing the tract to the householder we can tell them we will call back with another interesting tract in a couple of weeks. What husband in their right mind would not be interested in that. It is going to spark a lot of interest. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
