  1. That is an interesting viewpoint. But, it is not something that I worry or am frightened of. I know that I have Jehovah on my side, and what more could any person have? No matter what the outcome is Jehovah's original purpose for the earth and mankind will come to fruition. So don't be afraid of what man can do to you or the earth, because in the end there is nothing they can do that Jehovah cannot undo.

Did I miss something here? I never noticed anyone poking fun at Bro. Ray - or maybe it's just I didn't notice. I assume that the original cartoon was from a cartoon strip named "Ray" and the comment by the character was by the wife, who I doubt is Ray. This thread started out as a bit of fun But has gotten off track. Everybody needs to take stock and step back. Was Ray insulted- he certainly feels so. Was it intended to insult Ray. Probably not, but could be a tease. In light of what has happened, everybody involved should apologize - in public- since this is where it has ended up. Matt 6:14

Interesting. The program was actually uploaded to tv.jw.org Sunday night at 11:29 PM. (Eastern Time in the US and Canada) I really enjoyed the Malagasy children singing at the 1 hour 24 minute mark. Kids know how to touch our hearts more than anyone else does! Just so cute.

Wow, I NEVER saw it as anyone making fun of Ray. I realize that we all have different personalities and at times we can joke around with each other in fun, but when you are among brothers and sisters who have no evil intentions toward you (and I feel there is not one person in here who has bad or evil motives to intentionally hurt another) then perhaps it was all just a HUGE misunderstanding and it would be better to forgive and hopefully forget. There have been times when I have felt "ganged up on" but when I truly examined the situation I realized that for one reason or another I wasn't letting things roll off my back as they should - the problem was mine and I needed to step back, disengage for a bit and then re-engage when my mental facilities where up to par and ready to handle anything that came my way again. We have to be able to do that if we are to be "Jehovah's Witnesses" - we can't go out in service and "light" into strangers at their own doors and be demanding about how we think they should treat us. We have to treat each other the same way. Ray, so many in here have such great respect for you and for all the wonderful posts you've put into this forum, I'm dead sure no one ever meant to cause you deliberate hurt or to bully you in anyway. I don't know if it means anything to you but I want to say "I'm sorry" for anything that may of caused you hurt or distress, I truly mean that.

Back in the 19609's and into the 70's mankind developed and possesed the ability to erradicate all life from the earth with nuclear weapons - many grew afraid. But, we are still here and, even though man can still obliterate everything, we know Jehovah will not allow it so we do not live in dredd of it. Same holds true of this technology. Jehovah will never let man destroy the planet.

Sutherland's meeting held at Sylvania were I used to go also for Cronulla was postponed. Our C'O had said it.. A tree had fallen cause of the storms... wollongong didn't far much either... But this picture is today taken at Sawtell. Looks like a great area when the sun would be out.

  23. When the Large Hadron Collider was being built, some were convinced that it would create a supermassive black hole that would swallow the solar system. Seven years later, we're still here. Although creating microscopic black holes is an entirely theoretical possibility (and in the case of the LHC, a goal), they would expel energy faster than they can draw it in, and evaporate nearly instantly causing zero damage. Creating a stable black hole of any size, let alone massive enough to have a visible effect on its surroundings, would take more energy and matter than is available in the entire solar system.

I just realized something about myself. A couple of weeks age the Service Overseer had a Q and A part. I put up my hand and he said, "Sister W, again" Since that was my first comment of the night, I was a little taken aback, especially since his wife and daughter had been called on more than once, already. I was looking for some territory that night and asked him and some others, since I had finished my time and was taking out some disabled Sisters that Saturday. I did not want to take out a new territory, yet, because I have a number of medical appts this month, May. I wanted a street near one of the sister's home, because she is recovering from surgery, chemo, and cancer. So if need be, she would have to make it home quickly. Well, come Sat morning, I had one of the sisters (using a cane) with me, at the meeting, and mentioned whom I was picking up. I also mentioned I was still looking for a piece of territory. The Service Overseer told me, "That is exactly what you are NOT supposed to do. That is what the article told us about delaying getting our time started!" Well, I was a little taken aback again, but the morning worked well for my sisters and they were able to stay "regular" and serve Jehovah, which is what it is really about. So, keep trying to help whomever you can. Jehovah sees it and that is what's important. For me, I have to remember that this elder is very busy, and I should not take it personally. Anybody is welcome to correct my spelling anytime. I have a broken keyboard with missing letters. So maybe I am keeping that lady in the cartoon awake. If the picture was in any way a reference to you, I guess you would be the man who is sleeping peacefully. IMHO

Dear Brother Ray, I think it just means you are a good speller or writer. I get similar jibes, and I have never corrected anyone. When I first moved here, one Sister said," well, we can always tell a school teacher because of the way you all talk." Ironically, this sister has beautifully researched comments, which sometimes go on at length. The brothers have told me privately, "sometimes I call your hand last because I know you do extra research." Also, the brother's have thanked me. privately, b/c when they are looking around, and there is no hand up, I will put mine up to get the replies started. I was told when coming in to the truth, "As long as you are able, do not leave a brother standing there without support. It's okay to be wrong." Recently, in a Memorial Q and A, I erroneously said the wine was unfermented, and I was quickly corrected by the brother, "I'm sure you meant uncontaminated." But at least it got the comments coming. Anyway, I think the cartoon was silly but not offensive. It could be about me b/c I like to sleep with my little dog, who is part Chihuahua and part Jack Russell Terror (yes, terror, not terrier), but she looks like a Rat Terrier. When I have a part, I sometimes use deliberate "grammar mistakes" because our formal written English is stilted compared to the spoken English. And a preposition is a word one should never end a sentence with.

Why is there division? I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness. We see this happening.. Some people like to try to test our peace. I suppose for me it has to do with nerves & trying to feel comfortable around people. I often go to say something & realize, What I meant to say didn't come out the right way. & hope that the person knew what i meant. I'd rather listen than to a conversation than talk.

  39. Our spring is off to a real good start. Things came up in the garden in February- odd, really odd. Here's my first harvest of green onion. Fragrant beyond belief. And this is a spanish sister who made dinner for us last night, using my garden goodies. She made mexican rice, chicken fajita, and pork verde (?), oh my goodness was it ever wonderful. That rice is amazing and now I have a new way to make it, sweet! This is the last official weekend of our Kingdom Hall build so she goes home tomorrow. She went clam digging this morning before going to the site, she was able to get a whole limit of clams, and on her first time digging!! Good girl!

  42. I'm glad you agree, Cheryl, and that you've got a budget to cover the film you'll use... And from the response from others, I think this might become a popular thread. I hope so. Doesn't Rosanne's place look attractive! I'm guessing it's a dairy farm as is seen in so much of the adjoining Wisconsin. Your dairy farms are totally unlike ours, we graze our cattle outdoor all year round, they only come into sheds for milking. They get very little in the way of silage, usually just a little when at the milking shed, perhaps with supplements, otherwise it's just nice green grass. Thanks for those great pics, Rosanne... And Gordon, I suspect your pics were taken with a phone? A camera is always superior, but a nice place. My time in that little corner of BC last year was brilliant, mostly taken up with a drive around the southern end of Vancouver Island. Hasina, could you e.mail slightly larger versions of your first to pics to me and I'll see if I can enhance them to be more like what you could see at the time? raybell@ramojan.com And to think I drove right past you without knowing it last year! Jerry, how could the Google car come up your street and you keep your back turned? I'm guessing you have nice view out the other side of your house, but will it be restricted by what appears to be a new development between you and the sea? Please, folks, keep the pictures coming!

  44. I live here: In the very heart of Michigan's BEAUTIFUL Upper Peninsula, surrounded by two of the Great Lakes This is our farm, from the North: from the East: and from the South West: This is my house: My Hall is in Munising, Michigan, which is over sixty miles away, roundtrip. We are scheduled for a remodel this summer. I think we're getting a new carport, some parking lot repairs done and a new KH sign. Our current sign is bolted to the building. It will be neat to have one closer to the road. It will also be neat to not have to travel so far to the RBC project. Our RBC is WI #2 and it will still be functioning through 2015. Ross

  46. We've had a bit of rain here the last couple of days... The creek through the middle of Stanthorpe has been over most of the bridges, it's very full: This bridge was barely wet, others had a few inches over them: We don't usually get this much rain at this time of year, but it was only about 3" so it wasn't too extraordinary. The winds were ferocious through Friday night, some places had a lot of trees down.

  47. The concept of parallel or alternate universes is also disproved scripturally the same way sapient alien life is disproved. Jehovah our God is one Jehovah. There is not a Jehovah in this universe, and one in that universe, and one in still a third and so on. Christ died once for all time. Jesus didn't die in every universe for all those parallel sinners. You can also turn this around and use it against them. Generally, people like Stephen Hawking and those others who promote and accept the idea of multiple universes with infinite possibilities and variations are atheists who accept evolution over creation. If their view of multiple and parallel universes is correct, then there should be one universe where God does exist and he created all life instead of evolution. If that's the case, then why can't this be that universe?

  49. I was able to get a pic of the sign and the way it looks outside on Wednesday morning. Still construction site but it's coming together. Tomorrow is tear down day. Everything but the odd bits and pieces is done inside. Like I've mentioned before we don't get chairs till the 24th and the paving is done then too. Landscaping is soon though. I'll get a pic of that when it's done. Going to be so beautiful. The community is already impressed with us.
