Wow!!! The set of covers for 2017 is being such amazing! Is it only me who miss both magazines (Watchtower and Awake) with 32 pages each month? Anyway, I feel I'm being fed in an appropriate time.

Here is the first look at the 2017 convention invitation. Nice, professional-looking front page but interestingly doesn't mention the theme. I apologise for the image being so small, but there are no higher resolution photos available on jw.org at this time.

We had the letter read tonight. It said that the simplified edition of the Watchtower in languages other than English is being discontinued, with the final issue being May 2017. In the future, the study edition of The Watchtower in those languages will feature simpler language.

And of course each and everyone of you brothers and sisters, for being such an inexhaustible reservoir of godly knowledge and insights: Through this forum, I've handled some rather challenging assignments , gave the most beautiful comments during meetings in my congregation. Off course....I always look forward to sister Astrid's Watchtower posts. Being a creature of habit that I am, I would always prepare the Watchtower the morning before it is discussed ( in the past). But this post has changed all that as I now find occasion of preparing it before she posts it in the forum, usually the Monday ( just so that I would be the 1st to comment ( of course most of you brothers and sisters would beat me to it). This enriches my spirituality and my comments during the Watchtower study are a bit more robust. Thank you sister Astrid.

We are assigned to Green Bay, Wisconsin the Resch Center, right nextdoor to Lambeau Field, May 26, 27 and 28. The announcement of Convention assignments and dates is sort a' like getting a seed catalog in the mail, a ray of hope and warmth in an otherwise bleak and bitter winter.

Brother "Old"____He brings a priceless element of distilled wisdom that only comes with age. I've been following his comments, pointed questions that trigger still smiles of admiration. When I grow old, I want to be just like "Old".

Love the design of the invitation. Can't wait to see the program and see the talk titles, scriptures for each talk, and the songs that'll be used. I'm hoping that the revised NWT is released in Spanish at this convention.

Brother Tim, Just like other parents who have children who no longer serve Jehovah, I can feel your pain and discouragement. Obviously, I don't know your circumstances or what you did or didn't do in raising your daughters. I can only assume you did your best. That having been said, even if you didn't do all you could have done, your daughters still were exposed to the truth and had the opportunity to make it their own. Think of the experiences of young teenagers who find the truth and their parents violently oppose them, even destroying their books and kicking them out of the house. The difference is in the heart condition. Not always what we as parents do or don't do. Our experience as parents bears this out somewhat. Our son and his wife are BSCC graduates and regular pioneers and he is an elder. Our oldest daughter and her husband are pioneers. One of our daughters is regular at meetings but a low hour publisher. Our youngest daughter has been disfellowshipped for 4 years. Through 45 years of parenting, I've learned that parents can get too much of the blame and too much of the credit for how their children turn out. Finally, please don't be too hard on yourself and keep hoping and praying for your daughters.

Not sure why I would want a cover for the Songbook, especially since it already matches the New Bible. Most of the time the new Songbook will stay home since I use the tablet at the meetings. We only got 1 (large print) for the family - don't plan on getting a "personal" copy for "daily" use.

My daughter just informed me that their convention is July 28-30 in Toledo Ohio (they have a Tuesday meeting).

We're getting close to January 2! Any other SPOILER news on this program, such as pictures of what else is coming? I'm getting anxious.

We got our assignment tonight. Theme in Spanish is "iNo Se Rinda!", which translates to "Don't Give Up!" as has been reported by others.

Like Sister Fae, I prefer doing research on WTLibrary. Much greater range than online tools. WTs from 60 years ago show how we have come to the current understanding thru the years. I find that very few know how take advantage of it's features (there are many I haven't put into practice.) One feature I use a lot is it's ability to extract scriptures from any documeent from any source, even Time Magazine should they every cite any scriptures. If I am preparing a talk I copy the outline to the clipboard, then CTRL+ALT+C and all the citations appear in the document area. Same can be done with the study WT. I have brought this up to many and their response has been "I didn't know that." Really helpful if you get a phone call early in the morning saying "We need some one to give talk #190 today, can you do it?" That is just one example of the capabilities of WTLibrary. (See Exercise 14 in the help section.)

I would assume that if someone needs a copy, if not available for public download that an overseer could burn a copy. Although I like all the online resources we have, the offline library is still my favorite for deep research. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
