  1. We are all eager for news, but maybe it's not necessary to repeat several times the same things others have already posted. Reading before posting is always a good idea. I'm not referring to anyone in particular, there have been a lot of repeated news. Regarding the police buses, don't forget that Russia is in high alarm. A couple days ago there was a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg that killed 10 people and today there was another person killed by an explosion. So it's just normal to have a lot of police wherever there is a crowd. It doesn't necessarily mean that they intend to arrest all the brothers attending the trial.

  2. I remember Br. Vasiliy Kalin'a experience in the April 2015 broadcast, whose main theme was on endurance) and had the music video (still my favorite) "Never Give Up" Some screen shots from the music video:

  3. Our brothers are slowly dismantling the ministry of justices case. MakIng their lawyers acknowledge that they know no literature has been transported into the country in 2 years and there is no evidence that the centre of administration has distributed anything in the past 12 months. Brilliant! Soon there will be no case left. The world can see the evidence is not there, let's just hope the judges do as well.

  4. It's very stressful waiting to see what happens, but Jehovah knows what he does and permits. Surely the world is getting a great witness. Who knows, this could all lead to a huge boost of new ones who come to know Jehovah out of curiosity for what's happening, or because of indignation at the injustice. We just don't know. We have also been praying for Jehovah to forgive those in the Russian government who honestly do not know what they do. Maybe even some of them will have their hearts touched during all of this. I think when everything is said and done, we will look back on this and go "Ah, that's why Jehovah did this or did that!". Expect the unexpected!

  6. Well, I went to my meeting tonight and got three blessings (ok, more than that as in just being there. The "three" is what I actually counted). But before I get to that, nooo, there was nothing mentioned about our Russian family . But I'm certain that as soon as the brothers know something for sure, they'll let the worldwide association know. Now for the blessings counted. First, money saved. Yes, as a sister's son was helping his mother in his car, I asked and he said yes. Second, a sister is Auxiliary pioneering with Regular as her goal, and I was included in her request for assistance. Third, OMG! I'M GOING TO PIONEER SCHOOL THIS COMING JULY 24-29, 2017! It'll be my third time! Yes, all of the three above would have happened coming Sunday it is true, but the fact that I was there tonight makes me more than happy I was there tonight. Yes, Jehovah truly blesses effort!!!!

  7. 16:10 Zhenkov asks whether the Ministry of Justice knows that materials that are considered extremist constitute 0.1% of the entire literature of Jehovah's Witnesses. The Ministry of Justice does not know this. Is it known to the Ministry of Justice that the Rostov Regional Court, which recognized 34 publications of Jehovah's Witnesses as extremist, at the same time refused to recognize the extremist dozens of others. 16:19 Zhenkov clarifies whether it is known to the Ministry of Justice that literature has not been imported to Russia for two years. The Ministry of Justice knows this. Then there is a natural question, why in 2017 the Ministry of Justice raised the issue of liquidation. The Ministry of Justice can not provide facts confirming that during the last 12 months the Management Center distributed "extremist" literature. 16:13 The Ministry of Justice informs that the date of entering materials into this list is not specified in the FEMC. 16:24 The judge asks the representative of the Ministry whether it is possible to file claims of the religious organization, as well as customs, for the fact that materials imported into the country that in the future will be considered extremist? How to know in advance what material will be included in the FEMC. The representative of the Ministry of Justice: no way, just contact the FSEM. 4:30 pm The representative of the defendant Yuri Toporov is trying to find out what the Ministry of Justice puts into the concept of "the structural subdivision of the world organization of Jehovah's Witnesses". What is a "world organization"? Is this some sort of legal entity? The Ministry of Justice believes that no, it is about a certain canonical concept. What is a "structural unit"? Is this a legal concept? No, rather a canonical link. The next question is: in what sense then does the Ministry of Justice use this term in relation to the LRO, saying that they are "structural subdivisions of the Management Center"? In canonical or legal? The representative of the Ministry of Justice believes that this is the same. any questions please ask.

  8. Hmm thinking on this ... 20 million Muslims in Russia and only 175,000 Jehovah's Witnesses, we share airtime with big stories, and not all are negative ... Jehovah is creating a world wide witness with only 175,000 people. WOW. Watching Jehovah is like watching a conductor of an orchestra skillfully bringing the right instruments at precisely the right time.

  10. PART ONE: Simplified for anyone interested... 14"30 Brothers tried to get the court to stop the case since they kept saying no to everything we asked yesterday (and that's clearly not fair) Judge said: Don't care not stopping anything Brothers asked: Will you let us present official documents that prove Jehovah's Witnesses are persecuted all over the world. 14"40 Judge said: ok Their Lawyer presents his arguments: We should declare them ALL illegal because other judges have already said lots of congregations are criminal. Judge: Why do you want to ban the Watchtower organization AND their activity? How can you ban an activity that hasn't happened yet. Do you mean you want to ban their registered congregations? Them: No, because Bethel didn't give us a list of all their congregations so we can't ask you to ban them all. Judge: Why do you want us to Judge the Wathchtower Bethel like a business when they don't do Business. Plus the congregations are not the same as their Bethel. Their Lawyer: Because their Bethel lawyers were at all the cases against the brothers and sisters, We should ban them because they break laws of human rights: They don't let people get medical treatments. Judge: Can you prove that? Their Lawyer: er... no. 1 5"24 Judge : If you just inspected their headquarters you should be able to provide proof of this.

  11. So they will burn the letters, who cares. Hundreds of thousands of prayers burnt as if on an altar, creating a pleasant odor to Jehovah.

  12. Whatever our Heavenly Father wills the final outcome to be, it is this lesson that cannot be disputed: As Jehovah has heard his servants prayers for the Apostle Peter when he was persecuted/arrested; so too He has heard our intense prayers for our Russian brothers and sisters. (And it certainly does help that Brother Sanderson is "in the midst" to provide spiritual encouragement and support. ) Who is like our God Jehovah?

  15. Well this is the Supreme Court of the Russian federation... hence the appeal..they are referring to other courts decisions and passing judgement on their legal opinions .. yesterday was they excepted most of the lower court decisions .. today they are calling into question some of those judgements.. personally I think the longer this goes on the better it is for us .. all the methodology and judgements become internationally known and exposed, and becomes a matter of court record which can be challenged at the European court .. assuming that Russia will respect it's judgement... There is at least two other aspects we have to consider... international embarrassment and Russia's judicial separation of justice and political powers.. that is a huge area for international investment. You never know how it will turn out.. 10 years ago our Kingdom Hall received a tax bill of $47,000.00 .. the city taxed our parking lot.. We went to the Supreme Court of British Columbia and lost.. but the public embarrassment of the case that only one religion was taxed and all the others were not, produced a political backlash.. We got all our money back plus interest ... so there are many dimensions to this case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  20. It is good to remember that the Great Tribulation is not controlled by actions of nations or rulers (or even Satan). Jehovah has picked the exact day long before there even was a Russia. Remember the Brother Vasiliy Kalin said in the video that this all happened before in April 1951. The brothers lost their homes, possessions and freedom. They were sent to Siberia, not just for 10 years, but for life. That penalty did not bring the GT then. Nor did the previous Nazi persecution or Malawi or any of the other trials. God has a time appointed and He will not deviate from His purpose. WE pray for a good outcome and we pray for our brothers strength, faith and loyalty regardless of the outcome. But do not be quickly discouraged if the GT is not here by next week or this year.

  21. I just pray that the brothers may have wisdom in defending themselves the best way and be permitted to do that, thus giving a great witness no matter the outcome. I'm the kind that does not set expectations too high. No matter what, we know we show who we are through trials and hardships. These kind of situations are the ones which made us proud of our history - because we are LOYAL.

  23. 15:54 Lawyer Zhenkov begins to ask questions to the representative of the Ministry of Justice. The first question is: does the Justice Ministry have any information about any violations that were committed under the influence of the literature of Jehovah's Witnesses that was submitted to the FSEM. Answer from the Ministry's representative: "No, we do not have such information." This one's a killing blow. Knockout

  24. Another reason I started this topic is because some brothers and sisters were unaware of certain important facts, such as that individual brothers/sisters in Russia could be criminally prosecuted and imprisoned for 10 years. Also others were not aware that Russia also wants to confiscate "other property of" individual brothers/sisters! Many of our brothers and sisters here on JWtalk appreciate being updated on this situation on Russia. So I hope that these facts are helpful and motivating for all of us, but I definitely hope that I am not offending anyone, if so I am very sorry.

  25. Excellent point! Quite honestly, I have prayed that these make the right decision, but did not think in this way (like Stephen!) Who knows, some may end up like Paul....former persecutors of Jehovah's people, current servants of Jehovah. Very good attitude, Luis!

  29. And as the wait continues, the letters are still pouring in. (Some) worried that the letters wouldn't arrive on time...All we had to do was obey the direction to post them by latest 1 April, and Jehovah would take care of the rest.

  30. I know I don't want to prolong the anguish our dear brothers & sisters must be feeling right now in Russia to get a ruling, one way or another, but wouldn't it be great if the court could actually postpone it till next Wednesday! Then they can enjoy the Memorial, the most important day of the year!...... 8am

  31. The court hearing is still on. Our Lawyer ZHENKOV is very good one. The hearing is much better then yesterday's one. So we wait and see what will be the out come.

  32. We just don't know... even though today is going better the court is still standing by 17 refusals of yesterday ... I reckon that the media attention which maybe they didn't expect, means he at least has to appear to be seeking justice. Only Jehovah can turn this around...

  33. Nice points! When reading the first line of this reply it made me think of the bible reading this week. Jer 17:7 Blessed is the man who puts his trust in Jehovah,Whose confidence is in Jehovah. 8 He will become like a tree planted by the waters,That sends out its roots to the stream. He will not notice when heat comes,But his leaves will always flourish. And in the year of drought he will not be anxious,Nor will he quit producing fruit We do not need to worry about this court case. All we need to do is trust totally in Jehovah and he will help us not be anxious about the outcome. Whatever happens we know that Jehovah has got this one in the bag. He has something up his spiritual sleeve. I know we all know this I just thought it was a nice point from this weeks bible reading.

  34. The seriousness of the ban and its consequences was highlighted by the biggest ever letter writing campaign to the Russian government officials. It would not have been requested of us to do this if it wasn't so important and in acknowledgement of how serious this is for our brothers and sisters in Russia. We know it's a big deal, but can we actually grasp what it will mean for them? We hope and pray for them that they keep on enduring. They've made it this far with Jehovah's full backing - they will not be let down now in their time of need, whatever the verdict.

  40. Don't forget this one... 15:20 The Ministry of Justice in its suit confirms the necessity of liquidation of religious organizations due to the fact that organizations, in their opinion, violate the rights of citizens. The court asks the representative of Borisov the next clarifying question: which rights of citizens are violated? Borisova says that this is the right to receive medical treatment. According to their data, organizations prevent citizens from receiving medical treatment. In response to a rumble in the hall, the judge asks those present to restrain emotions.
    9 points
  41. 15:24 The judge asks if the Ministry of Justice has evidence of their allegations about medical treatment. The Ministry of Justice is not ready to provide them. The judge is again puzzled, because the Ministry of Justice most recently conducted a large-scale inspection of Jehovah's Witnesses and, if such facts were, they should have been identified.

  43. That's okay Svetlana; we MUST use our time to get our viewpoint "just so"; we are on the brink of the great tributlation, Satan and his ministers are preparing to enjoy their golden hour. When the nations turn on God's people there will be a celebration amongst those who hate us, but it will be short lived. Apostates are doing all they can to use this event to support their lies, so be it. Remember truth shines out to those that love truth, sheep will not be put off by lies as long as our fine conduct and clean living are testimonies to Jehovah's standards people WILL become curious about what we believe and they will find jw.org or ask a work colleague or neighbour... they will find the truth. So if the sheeplike people are not put off, if the kingdom rules, if we are faithful... what does what is happening out in the darkness of the outreaches of satan's system where the Apostates live matter?

  44. It would not matter if they burned every letter we send them, the witness has still been given. Jeremiah also made many representations to the King and to the people, they were also rejected. But whatever happens with the court case and the ban Jehovah's name is being made known. Not just in Russia, but around the world.
