  1. It just hit our website: BREAKING NEWS | Russian Supreme Court Rejects Appeal by Jehovah’s Witnesses Today, the Appellate Chamber of Russia’s Supreme Court ruled against Jehovah’s Witnesses, upholding the April 20 decision to liquidate their Administrative Center and effectively ban their worship. Despite this outcome, we are confident that Jehovah will continue to support our brothers in Russia. (Hebrews 13:6) Please continue to “carry on prayer” for them.—2 Thessalonians 3:1

  2. If Jehovah doesn't intervene, there is a good reason that involves the doing of his will further in that country - he will do what is best to save the most lives. We may not understand now, but like history has shown (exiled to Siberia), he has always gave his people what they needed to endure, in any circumstance for the salvation of the greater number of people.

  3. Now is the time for us to act, to put our priorities in place. We are too close to the end! Soon we will experiencing the same as our Russian family. We must pray for them and build our faith, they don't know who they're fooling with, only the sovereign Lord Jehovah! We are witnessing the first in a chain of events, history being made. Pray for our brothers everywhere, we are all in this together!

  7. 19:10 On July 17, 2017, the Supreme Court of Russia missed the last chance to restore law and justice to 175,000 Russian citizens who profess the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses. Only 20 minutes of the meeting required a board of three Supreme Court justices to leave unchanged the decision taken earlier by Judge Yuriy Ivanenko to eliminate and ban all registered organizations of this religion without exception. As there are no effective domestic remedies, believers will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights and other international organizations.

  9. Just finished raking and about to start baling. While raking, I found myself praying for Jehovah to help our Russian brothers and sisters to endure. I also found myself praying for Jehovah to help me endure what our Russian family members will be forced to endure. My heart hurts every time one of our family members suffers. Whether from natural or mandmade (unjust persecution) disasters, I have that 'fellow feeling' we are all encouraged to develop and maintain. I came to the realization that all of Jehovah's people are empaths...our hearts are tender and open to more than just Jehovah's teachings. We hate what He hates. We love what he loves. We feel what he feels. I also prayed that my soul would be concealed in Sheol, so that my heart wouldn't have to be hurt anymore. Really need to redirect my prayers to begging Jehovah to carry my heart's heavy load for me...I cannot take much more of this septic system of things. Yesterday, I even found myself crying because the trees in our yard are dying from diseases, because pollution has weakened their natural ability to fight off attacks. Too much death, too much killing...too much injustice!!!! Relief simply cannot be too far off.

  10. Doesn't this remind you of how many times Moses went before Pharaoh and he ignored them each time, doing just what he wanted? Until it was Jehovah's time to finally destroy them all at the Red Sea when they were trying to destroy His people? Maybe after this all plays out we will see a parallel..

  12. In the interview of our brother after the decision was read, he said that this will affect all religions eventually, not just us. He also said many came from other nations to see with their own eyes the injustice.

  13. We recently had a good reminder about how long these thing may take.. *** kr chap. 15 pp. 158-159 pars. 7-8 Fighting for Freedom to Worship *** Russia. Jehovah’s Witnesses spent decades under Communist ban but were finally registered in 1991. After the breakup of the former Soviet Union, we were granted legal recognition in the Russian Federation in 1992. Before long, however, some opposers—particularly those associated with the Russian Orthodox Church—were unnerved by the rapid growth in our numbers. Opposers filed a series of five criminal complaints against Jehovah’s Witnesses between 1995 and 1998. Each time, the prosecutor found no evidence of wrongdoing. The determined opposers then filed a civil complaint in 1998. The Witnesses prevailed at first, but the opposers rejected the verdict and the Witnesses lost on the appeal in May 2001. A retrial began in October of that year, leading to a decision in 2004 to liquidate the registered legal entity that the Witnesses use in Moscow and ban its activities. 8 A wave of persecution followed. (Read 2 Timothy 3:12.) Witnesses faced harassment and assault. Religious literature was confiscated; renting or building houses of worship was severely restricted. Imagine how our brothers and sisters felt as they faced those hardships! The Witnesses had applied to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in 2001, and they submitted additional information to the Court in 2004. In 2010, the ECHR reached its decision. The Court saw clearly that religious intolerance was behind Russia’s ban on the Witnesses and ruled that there was no reason to uphold the decisions of the lower courts, since there had been no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of any Witnesses. The Court further noted that the ban was designed to strip the Witnesses of their legal rights. The Court’s decision upheld the Witnesses’ right of freedom of religion. Although various Russian authorities have failed to comply with the ECHR ruling, God’s people in that land have drawn great courage from such victories.

  14. (11:55am Layman's Chart) Great logic by our lawyers, I put this into a logic chart in my own words Our Lawyers "An Appeal must be granted because there is a law that states that quotations of the Bible will not be considered extremist" I I "And all of our literature is based on the Bible, full of quotations from the Bible" I I "So all of the literature that the Ministry of Justice(MOJ) claimed was "extremist" literature was bad evidence, the MOJ has completely misapplied the law" I I "Therefore we must be granted an appeal based on this serious error!"

  16. This is VERY telling. How can 79 percent of the country support the ban but most know NOTHING about the case? http://www.newsweek.com/jehovahs-witnesses-russia-ban-appeal-637816 Clearly, the Church is controlling that Wild Beast as indicated here.

  18. Wow! What an amazing legal and logical set of closing arguments! All of the months and months of effort our lawyers have put into these unlawful proceedings...and the tremendous strain this must have put upon them. I applaud Jehovah for backing our brothers who are backing our brothers!!!

  19. Borisova's buttress is ludicrous! If that were the case, then the scathing books by the Russian Orthodox church about JW's should have been confiscated and the church itself liquidated long ago...Hypocrites!

  21. (11:45am Layman's Report) I think what is happening is that our lawyers have given a large petition to this court asking to provide each of the various evidence that the Russian Ministry of Justice in the original hearings stated were the reasons that JWs were "extremists" under the law. We were never allowed to review all of the supposed "evidence" back then and to be able to give a defense for each accusation or so called evidence. So now our lawyers are asking the Court of Appeals again to see this evidence! And this is another valid reason for granting an appeal since this was a judicial error in the original hearings.

  22. I've been praying for Jehovah to support our dear friends in Russia, no matter the result. (Down deep, I don't feel we lost. How can we loose with Jehovah on our side) "Expect the unexpected", and, "Jehovah does things with class". I know, down the road, all will be okay. What hurts is the suffering the friends are going through. They can't just ban us, take our property, and go their way. They have to be mean and ugly, on a personal level. Burn houses, take jobs, be nasty and vulgar. I know the demons don't have more insight then we do, but they have to know they are about to be put in a state of inactivity, and are being as cruel and vicious as possible, before this happens. So, they will have their last hurrah, and then pay the price. What is way too bad is the humans that join them. They will have a price to pay. We can just pray that honest hearted ones will get out of this, and turn to Jehovah. As we well know, "The nations will have to know I am Jehovah". Are we seeing this process culminate into the Geeat Tribulation? Time will tell.

  24. Really sad to see this happen, not only for Russian brothers and sisters, but sad for all those other countries too who are under ban. But if we are soon entering into GT, my sadness changes into excitement and joy, because we know what is after that!

  25. The brothers gave a tremendous witness today, just before the live feed was cut, Bro Sivulsky was giving an interview to lots of reporters. Their reasoning was sound and logical which makes the decision look an absolute nonsense.

  26. It's in Jehovah's hands now. We have to remember that even if the decision is not in our favor, things are being maneuvered from heaven. Although he never gives us more than we can bear, this persecution, that even we will soon face, is a part of our training. Difficult times may seem endless, as it probably felt with Job. But the fruitage of patience builds faith, tribulation builds courage. I pray for our Russian brothers, that they find the power beyond what is normal to be brave during this difficult time. This is one of my favorite scriptures for this reason: 1 Peter 5:9, 10 - But take your stand against him,+ firm in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by the entire association of your brothers* in the world.+ 10 But after you have suffered a little while, the God of all undeserved kindness, who called you to his everlasting glory+ in union with Christ, will himself finish your training. He will make you firm,+ he will make you strong,+ he will firmly ground you.

  30. One of these events, either tonight, or another to come will be the threshold of a new dawning. Whether we must condtinue in prayer and endurance, or there is a vindication for Jehovah's people makes no difference to the eventual outcome of Jehovah's victory, in his time. In the meantime it is my prayer to our God and Father, that our brothers and sisters not only remain faithful, but joyful in their service, and through them doing may we also draw strength from their examples to endure things to come for us. x

  40. 13:52 "But, dear Court, let's turn to the facts and see who threatens and who harms whom," says Zhenkov. "The court of first instance established that in 26 years of official activity of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, no damage was done either to the state , Nor morality in society. There are no acts of vandalism on the part of Jehovah's Witnesses, there is no violence. Yes there is violence, there are not even acts of protest! It turns out that the threat, which the court writes in its decision, is imaginary, far-fetched. If it was real, then for 26 years of official existence in Russia and for 100 years of unofficial, it would have come true. But the court's decision does not contain any facts of harm from their activities. What kind of threat to society and the state can there be, if only recently, on May 31, 2017, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin presented the Order of Parental Glory to the family of Jehovah's Witnesses? Yesssss!

  43. I hope I am misunderstanding what has been happening, but in just 1 quick hour the Court got our lawyers to read off each of our petitions and each were rejected almost immediately without hardly any review or without questions to our lawyers or without questioning the Ministry of Justice. There was only 3-4 minutes between many of the petitions, so this seems to indicate that there was little to no time taken by the Court to review most of these petitions and ask any pertinent questions. I don't think this is how most Court of Appeals handle cases in the rest of the world. Very saddening if this is what is happening.

  44. The only justice system we can truly rely on is Jehovah's ... if his hand is in this today, HIS Justice will come through, if it's not ... then the gap between man's justice and divine justice will remain glarelingly obvious to us. This is going to be the hardest test on all of us, whether it be a global stage scenario like this or on a more personal level, and that is, being patient and waiting on Jehovah's timetable. We want this to happen yesterday - one day it will be. So when the Great Tribulation happens is not important, just that Jehovah's will be accomplished is. I want it to happen tonight soooo much, but realistically it probably won't.

  45. July 17, 2017 9:30a On Moscow's Arbat District, where the Supreme Court of Russia, go dark clouds. At the entrance to the courthouse gathered a large group of citizens, their number is closer to 150. Those who stand in the queue, came to the entrance at 4am. Noticeable journalists armed with shooting equipment. Moscow police to ensure public order. 10:00a To hear once again provided the largest meeting room. On the faces of the court employees solemn expression, everyone is trying to flawlessly perform their duties. In the hall I heard a discreet hum. 10:05a In the courtroom, sounds foreign speech: there is quite a lot of foreign observers, the majority are Jehovah's Witnesses in different countries. Also have observers who arrived at the courthouse with diplomatic plates on cars. (If there is a better Russian/English translation than Google, please utilize, thanks).
