MEMORIAL 2018 - Anticipation and Greetings

Our 2018 Memorial is now a history.. 151 in attendance and couple of invisible angels.18 points -
Imagine how those who are resurrected will feel when one moment they were dying and the next they are restored to perfect bodies in a paradise earth - like this one hanging on a stake next to Jesus (Luke 23:43) . Amazing! My last memory of my dad is that awful breathing sound he made while lying in a hospital bed with morphine dripping into him and then the breathing stopped. The next time I see him he will be fully restored and better. For him it will seem instantaneous. What an awesome day today is as we remember the sacrifices that made all that possible. Enjoy this day and may it be our last memorial. If not, may we have the strength to endure to the last one and see all of these things come about.12 points

We are are about to leave for our memorial in half an hour. One of the first, if not the first memorial for this season will begin at 6:45 pm ... in one hour 20 mins from this post. (The ONLY country that may pip us at the post is Kiribati) ... they turned their clocks forward one hour in the year 2000 but being single congregation/s they will likely begin later than ours anyway) I send Greetings from New Zealand (A part of Russia is also in our timezone) and I wish all a lovely memorial evening in all seriousness and in all joy for what Jesus has done for us. I also wish that many interested ones will be in attendance. And so, it begins ... With much love - Mandi (I hopefully will post a photo or six hundred nahh kidding in Rocket's thread). 6 pm means there will be a wait for the emblems to be passed around as the sun has to set - 6.45 pm is the earliest we can do to make sure the emblems are passed after sunset.11 points -

There is NOTHING more unifying than the memorial: every WITNESS on earth contemplating the same things at the same time, it is a great privilege to be part of Jehovah's beautiful organization. My heart is do full of appreciation to Jehovah and Jesus - I keep thinking of the saying "Not because we are worthy but because we are loved"! 8 hours for me I'm going to eat then relax send some text to friends around the world and then spend the afternoon study and meditation before getting ready. 11h30 Paris France10 points -

Regardless of what condition the planet is in after armageddon and who does the actual work of any clearing up, the credit will go to Jehovah because he has made it possible for us to be there in an earth cleansed of satanic influences and in that way it will be a paradise from day one regardless of the physical surroundings. As far as I am concerned, Jehovah will have 're-set' the planet with armageddon.7 points -

That would be more of a backup and then reformatting, then restoring. Just following on with the computer lingo. I see we are all talking about a reset being more like a reset to factory settings, the default settings the designer intended for the product. In this case Jehovah restoring the earth to paradise as it was in the beginning. As he intended. Nothing here about a rapture or burning earth.7 points -

Indian lowest-caste Dalit man killed 'for owning horse
Saffron and 4 others reacted to New World Explorer for a topic
Just another reflection how "miserable" world satan created. A young farmer from the lowest rung of India's caste hierarchy - the Dalit community - has been beaten to death, apparently for owning and riding a horse. Police in Gujarat state said three upper-caste men had been detained for questioning. The victim's father said his son had been warned not to ride the horse as this was an upper-caste privilege. Owning a horse is seen as a symbol of power and wealth in parts of India. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-43605550 BTW - I love horse riding5 points -
The “Twin Cities” (Minneapolis and Saint Paul) are bursting at the seams. Many, now have four congregations. My congregation has English, Hmong, Spanish and Nepali. The Memorial will began in less than three hours, the 9:00 meeting. In Minnesota, the ground is usually wet and thawing during the time of the Memorial, not so this year. We had snow last night and temps have again dropped to below freezing. Our hearts are overflowing with such a vast array of emotions, surfacing during this most sacred time of the year. Even more so, contemplating that one of these Memorial’s will eventually be our last. May all of you have a safe trip. Love and greetings from Minnesota, USA.5 points

Wish I could send the same love and greetings to our brothers in the countries where they are banned. And I pray that they can have the memorial in secret without interference of the authorities. May Jehovah bless all of his people worldwide for putting in all their effort in mailing, and hand delivery of our King Christ Jesus, memorial.5 points -
Why can't both viewpoints be correct? Let's try to avoid becoming "obsessed with arguments and debates about words. These things give rise to envy, strife, slander, wicked suspicions, 5 constant disputes about minor matters" (1 Timothy 6:4, 5) Some miracles like the Flood left 'scars' on the earth (perhaps the Grand Canyon), or maybe the ground opening up and covering over those who supported Korah with their belongings. On the other hand, angelic warfare was usually only targeted towards wicked individuals. The passover. Fire coming out from the tabernacle and consuming those offering incense against Jehovah's law. The one angel who killed 185,000 of the Assyrian army. "w89 8/15 14 - Any and all scars left on the face of the earth from the globe-encircling conflict between Jehovah’s heavenly armies and the marshaled forces of evil will be removed. No trace will be left. 20 But what of all the war equipment that the nations will leave behind? In view of the symbolic indication of the length of time it will take to dispose of the combustible parts of them, the quantity will be enormous. (Ezekiel 39:8-10) Armageddon survivors may be able to adapt the materials of any remaining war relics of the nations to useful purposes.—Isaiah 2:2-4." (Ezekiel 39:6-15) “‘And I will send fire against Maʹgog and against those who are inhabiting the islands in security, and they will have to know that I am Jehovah. 7 I will make my holy name known among my people Israel, and I will not allow my holy name to be profaned any longer; and the nations will have to know that I am Jehovah, the Holy One in Israel.’ 8 “‘Yes, this is coming, and it will be done,’ declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. ‘This is the day I have spoken about. 9 The inhabitants of the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons—the bucklers and shields, the bows and arrows, the war clubs and lances. And they will use them to light fires for seven years. 10 They will not need to take wood from the field or gather firewood from the forests because they will use the weapons to light fires.’ “‘They will take spoil from those who despoiled them and plunder from those who had been plundering them,’ declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. 11 “‘On that day I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, in the valley of those who travel east of the sea, and it will block the path of those passing through. That is where they will bury Gog and all his hordes, and they will call it the Valley of Hamon-Gog. 12 The house of Israel will spend seven months burying them in order to cleanse the land. 13 All the people of the land will work at burying them, and this will bring them fame in the day that I glorify myself,’ declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. 14 “‘Men will be assigned to pass through the land constantly and bury the bodies left remaining on the surface of the earth, in order to cleanse it. They will continue the search for seven months. 15 When those who pass through the land see a human bone, they will set up a marker beside it. Then those assigned to do the burying will bury it in the Valley of Hamon-Gog. Whatever the case, we know a few facts: We'll no longer be worried about having enough resources, there will be enough left for millions to live off of for a symbolic '7 years', perhaps even decades or hundreds of years. Also, this process of cleansing the land is going to take time, but only a mere symbolic '7 months' in comparison. I hate economics... the beauty of Jehovah's creation is that it's never a Zero Sum Game... it's always a Win-Win, always giving back more than the effort put into it, ever expanding and growing! That is quintessentially the miracle of life.5 points

A reset doesn't have to be instantaneous. And maybe this is where you are having difficulty understanding. Anyway, there is no reason to argue over words - 2 Tim 2:14. We can just agree to disagree - especially when there doesn't seem to be a desire to understand. We certainly can agree that it will be wonderful to be in the "New world" where the bad things of this system are wiped away and the good things Jehovah originally purposed are restored.5 points

I can't see a greeting thread for this year so I thought I'd start one just to wish you all well and send my love to the brothers all over the world especially in Russia and the brothers in prison, Brother Christensen and his family, the brothers in Eritrea and South Korea (and I'm sure the faithful that have survived in NORTH Korea) that will be looking at the full moon and wishing the could meet with the brotherhood. One day we will all be free to worship together, until then MEMORIAL greetings from Paris, France: 24 hours and I will be in my way!4 points

I know of a sister who, with her daughter, went to see Panthers (Lol. I'm probably leaving out a word but y'all know what it is). Now I couldn't see that because for one, the violent aspect of it. Two, during the 1960s I have history, with especially my mother, of being involved in the civil rights movement. She marched, we did also, I even wore Afros, etc even after baptism until a brother spoke with me (more like kept giving me that look, lol) watching something like Panthers I feel might bring back those feelings and attitude. I mean, I'm not saying that I'm totally free of such, more like laden in the shadows. It's something like, to me, an alcoholic having to stay away from alcohol. Yet he/she is still an alcoholic and will be until this system ends. We all have things to work on, some continuously such as myself. I apologize if I've stepped on some toes here with Acrimony. It wasn't my intention. Please forgive me.4 points

I just checked it out the trailer. It sounds like a chick-flick, so I am not surprised, lol. This is a good question. On the one hand, what we choose to watch is a conscience matter. There is no "rule" that rated R movies are off limits. On the other hand, I would be very, VERY cautious when recommending a rated R movie to someone else. I personally don't depend on the MPAA rating system. Sometimes a movie can be rated R here in the USA and no witnesses will watch it, and the same movie can be rated 14 by another countries rating system and almost every witness over there will have seen it. Instead, I prefer to check out https://www.commonsensemedia.org when making entertainment choices. It gives a good breakdown of what one can expect to find in a movie they are considering watching. The Common Sense Media rating for Acrimony is 16+ and the full review is here: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/acrimony And with that, we leave it up to the conscience decision of others whether they will choose to watch it, while at the same time not passing judgment on those who have chosen to do so.3 points -
