  2. Mandi 'Stormswift' is my big sister - not a blood relation but since I have lost both my siblings to the world, I tend to choose my siblings from my spiritual brothers and sisters. She introduced me to this site!

  6. I think you can keep your avatar, morning doves are good neighbors. They are native to North America. Mourning doves pair up for life. We always see them in pairs both summer and winter. There cooing can be heard throughout the day. It is kind of mournful, thus their name. A pleasant bird to have around. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mourning_dove

  7. Met PinkPopcorn a few years ago. Phone friends with some others on here and discovered I'm related by marriage to another member. Also one of my sons served in Bethel with another member. Small world. I met Carlos & Finny a couple of weeks ago. We had a nice visit. Grumpy cooked for them.

  9. Yuppers! Bagwell1987 is one of my best buds, flew out to see her last year! Other sisters I have talked to on the phone. Pink Popcorn who retired from here several years ago, I have know for over 30 years and got to see her again last December when I went to Florida. It had been many years since I'd seen her and it was just like old times. For some reason I can't think of the member name of the others I have come to be "real" friends with.

    The next release of watchOS for the Apple Watch will feature a walkie-talkie function. I’m thinking of getting a second watch, so I have one for each wrist. But I would have to take them off at certain times. Mt 6:3 But you, when making gifts of mercy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, #reallyAwfulPun I would of course have to swap them over if I nipped over to France. #reallySorry

  14. We have been asked not to upload recordings of talks onto the internet, whether that is public talks or from assemblies, conventions or another special occasion. Recordings should be for our personal use only. I know there are sites and youtube channels that host these, and some find the talks encouraging, but it seems ironic to look for a talk on obedience to God's organisation from a website that is being disobedient to directions. As pointed out, we have the drama and talks from Gilead on jw.org to listen and watch, plus plenty of written articles on the subject.

  15. Dalbyj is my dallyballybee ... my lil sis (spiritual sis) ... we get together whenever we can - which should be more ... dearly love her she has been faithful through many trials. Being in NZ we a bit isolated -Hatcheckgirl is on my list to meet before the NS, next time I'm hoping to be more successful!! Reckon we would make good neighbours for Gregexplore and Mrs Greg one day. Lots on my list to meet. And, perhpas there's one or two from NZ I could end up meeting at our Convention - who knows? Yeah she saw them, but they were poorly made and the G had dropped off, and she didnt know any Reg's so she went on by.

  22. Good News! jw-russia.org: Anatoly Vilitkevich released from jail On June 21 Anatoly Vilitkevich , who was detained in the remand centre for more than two months, was transferred to house arrest. Perhaps the letters demanding to stop repression against believers has done some good. I hope and pray that the same will happen with some or all of the other brothers in detention.

  24. I'm thinking early Gilead graduation talk on JW TV. The reason I say that is that I remember something about the tribes location in their camping pattern around the tabernacle, and how Korah would have met ones he led away. I just cannot think where else I would 'see' that connection... Older {still waiting for the 'Wiser'}

  26. Hi Brother William I'm wondering really, as a kindness towards our brothers and sisters, if we should not assume to conclude they are 'ignoring' facts. I'm in agreement with you about the deplorable and urgent condition of the earth. Obviously your mind veers towards the plight of the earth in a different way than perhaps another person might direct their concerns. IE: someone might be more concerned about the change in animal behaviour - or someone might be more concerned, if they live in cities about the increase of violence or treatment of innocents. So because someone either doesn't agree with you or treats what you say flippantly on your favoured topic, doesn't mean they are ignoring it or think what you say is rubbish. It means we are all different with concerns on a wide range of issues. If we were to be concerned about everything that is going wrong on the planet it would do our heads in. It's at the stage, of not needing to convince people there is something wrong, but focusing on the fact that now it's not reversible, and the ONLY one who can help is Jehovah and his kingdom. I think many come across as 'ignoring' because the evidence is so overwhelming. Many don't know how to process it. I've noticed that the FDS is more and more directing our attention to the POSITIVES of creation ... with all the videos they are releasing, and even in this months broadcast, they are encouraging us to build on our faith in Jehovah by studying the positive side of creation. Leaving the mess firmly in Jehovah's hands to sort. I felt I had to say something, because when we impute wrong motives (and unless we have this amazing ability to read people hearts - sometimes even uttered words don't show whats really in their hearts) then we could be wronging our brothers and sisters. If you have an interest in an area, which obviously you do, then by all means share it, but don't force it. Those whose hearts are inclined towards the information you convey will read it and come to their own conclusions. None of us can just believe because you say so. It takes time to sit down, meditate, compare it with spiritual/scriptural evidence and then prayerfully come to a conclusion. Give your brothers and sisters both the opportunity and the dignity to do so on their own. Kind regards Mandi x Just wanted to add William - I personally enjoy much of the information you put up and thank you for that.

  28. Ha! Scott Adams tweeted for ideas for his strip and added he would use a submitted one in an upcoming comic. I tweeted: "Maybe play with the idea of the mission statement being written by someone who was binge-watching Mission Impossible. Hmm. Like: ‘If you are caught or killed by this product, our company will disavow any knowledge of your actions’" He gave it a like. Let's see if it appears as a cartoon. Who doesn't love Dilbert? To another tweet suggesting a play on "our employees are our most valuable asset," I added a quote from 'Tom Irregardless and Me': "He knows it is all hogwash. He knows one can go from 'most valuable asset' to 'person non-grata' in a heartbeat. But the newbie from the hills drinks it all in and thinks his new boss is his best friend in the whole wide world." https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/686882 (for a few days, the code LF95H makes it free) The line as written refers to Phillip Brumley, Bethel attorney who was plucked from regular Bethel work and put through law school. He said it altered his personality to the extent that his wife said he was like a different person. I sympathized with the remark, but then speculated that maybe it was just him. Maybe he was like the new employee that must sit through interminable drivel about how "our employees are our greatest assets" and then I continued with the bit that I tweeted to Scott's contributor. Because that is just what Jehovah does. He starts with people who are low and he places them on high. The ones who are already high are too high to have responded to the good news to begin with.

  36. My, that has not been my experience with them...my doves coo all the time..and I've never seen them fight any other birds..rather, they seem to be loners, only come around when none other birds are around. And very skittish...hmm, I'm thinking there must be different species of them..they are related to the pigeon I think...

  41. I got all Heirloom seeds this year, boy do the seeds come up quick- except for the giant leeks- they're kinda slow. I love radishes, I'm German so why not a Giant German Radish? Oh wow, these are a joy to watch grow. Picked my first one tonight. Goodness, it took 6 big bites and 3 little finish-it-up bites to eat it! This is the next one I'll pick. I only need one for a meal! Lew doesn't like radishes, oh so sad To bad big boy! They're all mine! The 3 rows are short but where some seed didn't come up I planted more and they're coming along fine. In the first pic you can see I have seed germinating, I'll be able to plant them in about 5 days, there's about 25, they'll be ahead of the game. there's a brother in my hall who prides himself on his radishes.......wait till he gets a look at the one I'll bring him Sunday

  42. Yes it's disgusting ,but in a sense, these things must take place just as Jesus suffered and told of the things that he must go through for the fulfillment of the Kingdom. Regardless of what man does, Jehovah will undo it all. Regarding the KOTN, Daniel 11:44 says - But reports out of the east and out of the north will disturb him, and he will go out in a great rage to annihilate and to devote many to destruction. If Russia is the KOTN, then it's time to poke the bear, lol. Does this mean many of our brothers will face death at the hands of the KOTN ? How will we feel then for our brothers? No doubt great sadness. Will it look like Jehovah is abandoning his people when this happens? Real tests of our faith await us no doubt. Stay strong friends.

  44. Once again, there is a song included for us in "The Inside Story." We were treated to Song 129: "We Will Keep Enduring." It was beautifully rendered, in my opinion. WOWW, what marvels Jehovah has created, to make voices that are able to sing so beauteously! I have converted the song to mp3 format for those who would enjoy listening to it on their iPhones or other electronic device. It's in my collection of songs.
