  1. Gertrude is scheduled for a Craniotomy in the Bloodless Surgery Program at Swedish Medical Center, Seattle WA Thursday 9:00 AM. The words 'blood tranfusion' did not enter the conversation, which were among the first words uttered by her previous surgeon. Fom here on it is just OLD preaching, pay no attention. (I fail to see why such a small portion of our brothers take advantige of the many Bloodless Medicine facilities, instead accepting their local surgeons word when they say "I won't give you blood," Which promise goes out the window when complications set in. Then your family realizes what the surgeon actually meant was "no blood? OK, I will let you die." This often places a burden on family members not in the Truth, and on the HLC who get a midnite call to fight for you on an issue that could have been resolved by a little more forsight and perhaps traveling just a little further to support these hospitals that serve our brothers.) Thanks again for all the kind thought and prayers you have expressed in our behalf The Lytles

  2. Here is a picture of my daughter riding in a Competitive Trail Ride at Palmer, AK a week ago. They ride 25 to 30 miles a day for two days and the winner is based on the condition of the horse and the horsemanship of the rider. She was one of the top contenders as she always is. She is now 60yo and she has ridden in the ride every year for the last 43 yrs.

  4. From jw-russia.org: https://jw-russia.org/news/18080813-414.html This insidious plot to stamp out Jehovah's people took 9 years, eh? How dastardly Satan truly is; how crafty, lowdown and rotten-to-the-core he really is! (If Jehovah allowed humans to see the destruction of His archenemy soon, I would want a front-row seat!)

  5. I really needed to read this! Thank you! Going through alot with my husband and son. I want to runaway😕 and just live by myself. Yes, I know Jehovah is stronger/powerful than Satan but at times I know I'm on Jehovah's side but some way or the other, I fold and want to just leave because physically it's the two of them. I KNOW my Father is with me, I just have to stop being anxious and continue praying fervently to him. Thanks for letting me vent on this post.

  6. Ro14:3,17 "Let the one eating not look down on the one not eating, and let the one not eating not judge the one eating, for God has welcomed him. For the Kingdom of God does not mean eating and drinking, but means righteousness and peace and joy with holy spirit." 😊

  7. The new format of the study edition will include the “Some Expressions Explained” box, which at the moment only appears in the simplified. There would also be design changes that allow for a larger font to be used. So it appears these changes begin with the January issue of 2019, rather than the issue that contains study articles for January 2019.

  9. I've noticed it a lot lately as I got older and started working espescially. Try and talk about God and life in general, and most of them will either shake their heads or laugh. "Do you still believe in God?". I've tried to understand their view on life, and many agree that the way they live their life, is pointless. One said: "Life doesn't make sense. All we do is work, eat and sleep". I just feel like people are getting more distracted with everything that is going on. If you go to a big city, you will see ads everywhere, not to mention phones, internet etc... This makes people distracted from seeing Gods creation. They have their minds on getting as much money as possible and getting more items, because they actually believe that it will make them happy. And espescially among young people, I've noticed that they don't care. It's all about having fun and getting most out of life. You just see more of what 2. Timothy 3:1-5 is describing. It's very clear how loving Jehovah is, by being so patient until he will get into actions. And that motivates me to spend as much time as possible in the field service and preaching to as many as I can.

  10. I am a meat lover, but I have no problem accepting those who are not. One of my closest friends is vegetarian and that is her choice. I have no problem with watching someone eat rattle snake, although I do not eat it. What I eat is my business. What someone else eats is theirs.

  13. In the New World we may all be vegetarians, if so, I am sure I will be helped to accept it because Jehovah knows the best way to for us to live. *** g97 6/22 p. 11 Choosing a Healthful Diet *** vegetarian diets are becoming increasingly popular. “Data are strong that vegetarians are at lesser risk for obesity, . . . constipation, lung cancer, and alcoholism,” says dietitian Johanna Dwyer in FDA Consumer. The important thing is: "whether you are eating or drinking or doing anything else, do all things for God’s glory." How can we promote unity? *** w04 9/1 p. 9 Glorify God “With One Mouth” *** “Welcome One Another” 5 In his letter to the Romans, Paul speaks of a situation about which opinions varied. He writes: “One man has faith to eat everything, but the man who is weak eats vegetables.” Why was that? Well, under the Mosaic Law, pork was not an acceptable food. (Romans 14:2; Leviticus 11:7) However, that Law was no longer binding after Jesus died. (Ephesians 2:15) Then, three and a half years after Jesus’ death, an angel told the apostle Peter that from God’s standpoint no food should be viewed as defiled. (Acts 11:7-12) With these factors in mind, some Jewish Christians may have felt that they could eat pork—or enjoy some other food that had been prohibited under the Law. 6 However, the very thought of eating those formerly unclean foods would likely have been repulsive to other Jewish Christians. Such sensitive ones might have felt instinctively offended at seeing their Jewish brothers in Christ eating such food. Moreover, certain Gentile Christians, whose religious background likely never included dietary prohibitions, may have been puzzled that anyone would make an issue over food. Of course, it was not wrong for someone to abstain from certain foods, as long as he did not insist that such abstinence was necessary to gain salvation. Still, the different viewpoints could easily have fueled controversy in the congregation. The Christians in Rome would need to be careful that such differences did not prevent them from glorifying God “with one mouth.”

    Newly engaged!!

Hello everyone!! I bear some great news that I got engaged to my lovely man on Tuesday! 😍 We've known each other about 10 years, and have been dating for the last 1.5 years. He's supported and held my hand through lots of ups and downs recently and truly loves Jehovah (and me 😉). We haven't had a chance to do proper wedding talk, and with our convention and a couple of busy weeks ahead of us, we're not planning for the future just yet and enjoying this time. But, does anyone have any advice for engaged couples, the wedding, new married life... Etc! Any advice will be gratefully received. We have such a lovely congregation who are so pleased to get involved, many sisters offered services before we'd even got engaged 😂

  20. Personally I think "organic" and "ecologic" vegetables are the same vegetables only priced triple. The same as "cage-free eggs" doesn't mean that those hens were left to walk around free, it only means that the ratio of hens by cage is smaller. This world is a big lie.

  22. When the border guard asked my daughter's friend from Canada, recently Honduras, how she knew her companion from Australia, recently Myammar, come to visit American friends and camp in the Adirondacks, she, caught unawares, said the first thing that popped into her mind: "We're Jehovah's Witnesses." The guard accepted that as the answer, and he pursued the topic no more. Did he do so because he knew that with Witnesses, national divisions mean nothing, and they routinely hop all over the globe? Or was he a scaredy-cat who feared they might witness to him?

  23. How do I begin...to tell the story of the smoke stack beneath my wings? For years puffy below me has kept her smoking to a minimum. One day, last spring, I wanted to invite her to the memorial. So I went downstairs to her unit and we spoke. She was nice and took the invitation. I gave her some info and offered her a ride if needed (I was going to sacrifice her cigarette smelly clothes in my car) but alas, the day of the memorial she placed a robo call to me, and this weird voice said "thank you for the invitation, but the party that was invited can not come." it was a really weird phone call and message. Since then her smoking has gotten out of hand and within these past months including horrible July and now moving in to August, it is like she is on a rampage! I live above her in a condo, and it seems to me that every where she hears my foot steps or that of my dog, she comes and stands directly where I am sitting or standing and puffs away. The stench is horrible, the usual affects such as choking, gagging, nausea, and migraine headaches and on top of it all the illness that I have prior to her rampage. Now, I was advised by the BOA of my community, that in the by-laws is a section that says that if a person who lives in the community and they smoke, they must keep their stench out of the other person's home. Well, I took advantage of that and had the BOA send her a notice. It just stated that her cigarette smoke was undermining the peace of the other person living in the building. That she was to step outside on her porch and smoke away. Well like today, the selfish apathetic individuals, it went in one ear and came out the other. No do. So the BOA sent her a 2nd letter which threaten fine. Well I understand she called the BOA and "SWORE" she was outside smoking and not in her home. Well Jehovah has eyes and he had her exposed yesterday, where she had parked her suv at another parking lot and played Home But Hiding! You can't believe all the prayers said from the brothers and sisters about this matter. But so far, Jehovah is allowing it to continue. My home is no longer pleasant, I can not longer invite anyone (cause they get sick from the smell themselves), every material thing in my home has been ruined, my clothes stink, my sheets, my winter coats, everything in the home. These condo's were built without installation in the walls and the floor is noise residence but not smoke residence. I know there are many of you who may have a similar problem, how do you cope and does anyone of you have a really good hepa filter you trust and know that really works. I can't have an Ionzier, cause they put out Ozone issues which I can't take the smell of that. I did try talking to her about this for at least 7 years and instead of getting better it just gets worse. I know we are close to the end of this Satanic world, so to me I feel it as persecution and the hating of Jehovah's name. Some friends want me to sell my home, others say I should purchase filters. Well selling is not a option for me cuz I can't afford another single or apartment (where in my state, they passed the "medical marijuana" law last month. Which means big trouble for all who don't want that kind of stench in their homes! Really the safest place for me is the Kingdom Hall but there is no room to stay, and weekend friends that let me stay at their home, and of course there is always my vehicle. With some condo's there is a clause that says no noxious fumes or odors of any sort are to disturb the peace of other units. It even says to take it outside. I don't know of people cooking broccoli without a vent, the veggie stinks too. But no one has ever reported broccoli as 2nd hand smoke! So what are some of your suggestions? FYI/I am disabled and cannot go up and down zillions of steps, my condo's have no elevator, in the buildings. The BOA told me they are "thinking" of fining her. But that was 2 weeks ago and no one has heard beans. Since its Satan doing the attacking against Jehovah through me, cause I am his servant. Hepa? Sell, go to frying pan? Or live homeless? Senior housing is a joke in Maryland! Give me some ideas???? friends.... thank you

  24. sometimes we feel isolated; thinking no one understands 'our' situation. a CO's talk put me right on that; (1 Peter 5:9)  But take YOUR stand against him, solid in the faith, knowing that the same things in the way of sufferings are being accomplished in the entire association of YOUR brothers in the world. He said someone somewhere is praying on your behalf having had a successful outcome for the same thing. If I know Julie right, she will be praying those like you, to be blessed in a similar fashion or in your particular circumstances. Whatever it is, it will be tailored for you. (Psalm 18:25) 25 With someone loyal you will act in loyalty;. . . This is the LAW! Jehovah views it as done.

  25. Lols just a little bit. We watched a guy in Cape Yorke. Somewhere of the Old Telegraph Rd go in and Out of this giant pond. He says everything was going well. Well you could see crap coming out of the exhaust. It didn't seem like a good idea. My hubby thought he have ago. We only just made it out. No snorkel. Hmmm!!! Way too close for comfort. Next you could see water pouring out where the filter is etc. Hubby looked really worried now. We are out in the middle of nowhere. Only thing I had that could soak up water I said to him "ah do you want to try some personal items "? Nah!!! He says. So might as well. I will do it. So between all the ridges in the filter the water was soaked up. And pretty much dry. Our bedding needed a lot of sun. Lols. Lifes pretty straight without a twist. Lol

  30. Bea, do your filters have a name and what kind are they? Are they hepa filters washable or you have to purchase filters? Or do you have or got Ionzier's? I need to know cause I have one I bought years ago and when she started to smoke up a storm in July/August, I ran that Ionzier, and both filters are black. I ordered replacements ASAP. They aren't cheap! Thanks for the heads up on these air purifiers, cause I need to purchase another one quickly, but want to know what kind do you have or what did the daughter bring you? Bea, your taking all precautions with this fire, I heard today on the news another one got started near Los Angeles (outskirts in the mountains). Where I live we have and will be drowning in rain water, and the west is half a dust bowl and flames! You and the friends out there be really careful and thank you for your post!

  31. We did in Kakadu. It was 35 very hot. Did everything by the book regarding oils. Radiators. I live in Wollongong and so had Nrma Premium care. Even bought a CB radio. We were there for 4days. Some people very nice gave me a lift back to our lodge. We are camping. I had to do the calls. There was no reception back where we were. One of the guys at Coodina took his truck out to pick up the kids. Hubby had to wait for tow truck. Some wonderful Brothers came and towed us out. Helped us. Now we have another 4wd. Heading home now But we made some wonderful friends never forget their kindness.

  36. I would hazard a guess that he had come across witnesses prior and knew that they had no barriers. Isn't it amazing? The other thing Brother Tom ... is I remember a very encouraging talk by Dan Sydlik about the Austrian Brothers and sisters travelling to the convention - how the borders were suddenly opened up - so maybe you have a third option - Jehovah moving them to overlook something they may have not otherwise?

  37. Quite the treat seeing how things are done to prepare and record a JWB. Top level professional studio and equipment as well. These JWBs are of the highest quality, and we can see why. The opening talk was really nice. Cooperation is the key to advancement. In-fighting is the poison that leads to disunity, and nothing gets done. I am happy the elders got some recognition for what they do. It was appropriate to recognize that they do a ton for the congregation, while having to care for the needs to themselves and their families. Nice broadcast. Worth another listen through!

  38. Yes indeed, a mature christian would accept the choice that individuals make and keep their conscience in check if they disagree. Brother Clifford, There's another aspect too, that many who may eat meat, whether minimally or more, also love Vegan dishes - I know I do - I enjoy finding alternative ways to cook. So being inclusive of those who eat meat you can still learn much from others. The line is crossed when others are judged because of their choices.
    2 points
  39. I am not a vegan or a vegetarian - I am an omnivore That said, it is sad that some on both sides of the issue try to push their thoughts/choices/tastes/diets on others - often times in a less-than-kind way. Some who are not vegan or vegetarian are like the sister you mentioned - making it seem as though anyone who is a vegan or vegetarian has rocks in their head or is doing something wrong because they choose not to eat meat. On the other hand, I have met far more vegans/vegetarians who try to push their views on those of us who do eat meat. They accuse of us mistreatment of animals, not knowing what we should eat, trying to convince us that, if we just give it a try, we would be a lifelong convert. So, "although it hasn't been easy to accept and forgive the prejudices of other members of Jehovah's people" make sure you are also "accepting and forgiving" those who choose to eat meat. I hope you find others on here that eat as you do and have some very uplifting exchanges - I also hope you will not get critics that feel they just HAVE to post in this thread Happy eating

Because wherever you go, Jehovah’s people are there. And you’ll feel love. You’ll feel love, A brotherly love. So feel the love. Brothers and sisters all over the world Unite with Jehovah and follow his Son To bring you love— A nation of, Of brotherly love. So feel the love. Our Father provides for us all— No one left over. Deep in the jungle or on mountains high, In big, modern cities or on islands afar, You belong. You belong to the people of God. So feel the love. Our Father provides for us all— No, no one left over. But in the world, it can be cold— A scary place, truth to be told. So how wonderful it is to know The one true God and his people! Jesus, he taught his disciples to love. So millions of people, as a nation, they show Jehovah’s love— And you belong among all of them. So feel the love. So feel the love. Newly engaged!!

Congrats! One thing we did that I do recommend, if possible: I don't know how things are done there - but, here, where I live it is fairly common that couples get married on Saturdays - then head for their honeymoon. Often, they do not attend meetings during their honeymoon. What we did - we located a Hall that was near where we were going AND where neither of us was known to anyone in that Hall. We managed to find one with afternoon meetings. We went to the Public Meeting and did not tell anyone we had just gotten married. Instead, we just introduced ourselves as Brother and Sister (Mr & Mrs) so we could see what it was like to be received as a couple/family instead of as "Newlyweds". Personally, I think it was a wise choice because it deepened our desire to truly be Husband and Wife - right from the start.
