My daughter just told me a sister said 45 members of their congregation are missing...😨

Last Sunday I had two talks in Northern Spain, so we stayed in a rural B&B with a farm. The site was wonderful and the owners were extremely nice to us. Then when we were leaving we found out they are JWs.

My friends who live in Panama City are all ok just still shaken. The Kingdom Halls are all good but the churches in that area have all sustained major damage, at least according to those I've spoken to. We live 40 miles north of the beach and there's been quite a bit of damage to homes where we live. Even some of my friends have lost their homes or lots of damage. This is really terrible.

We feel your pain. Last year we went through a Cat 4. The winds hitting at 150mph for 26 hours (yes 26) was nerve wracking. 2nd worst in Australian history (Darwin Dec 1974 #1) With no power and water for over 10 days, the go bag was good advice. But it was the 2 Relief Teams - one from the North and one from the South - that were in the forefront of teams arriving. The were on the road, waiting for it to clear, and were among the first to arrive with supplies and help. You can be sure, help is already on the road! The disaster will leave scars, and some things will never be restored. But the love displayed will be the thing will carry you through. It will also bring a heightened appreciation for the love and concern Jehovah has for you in this time of need. It will be superabundantly displayed in the coming months. We still talk about it. The Good News is that these things will be done away with. But in the mean time we have the support to get through it. The lack of phone service in some of the affected areas is evidently making it difficult to find out where people are and if they are safe. We know the brothers will be doing the best they can to work through their groups and eventually get information to the CO who will report to the branch. But no doubt lack of phone service is a challenge.

Vernalee, I have lived around Florida for about 58 years and have been without power after many hurricanes - I feel you having to run on the generator We were without power for a week last year after Irma. I also helped with the relief work after Andrew and have seen first-hand the devastation a hurricane can do. The devastation I have seen from the news pictures reminds me of what I saw in and around Miami back during Andrew Please take care and keep us updated

I have seen lots of relief efforts here where I live. The damage has been so bad that they will have trouble getting in the bad areas. They can only do so much until they get the debree under control.

Yes Mexico Beach is gone, Panama City pretty much destroyed. Hospitals had to be evacuated, only kept emergency room open. It's gonna be a long time to bring it back, if ever.

Update: Everyone has been accounted for..Panama City is unlivable..totally shut down. It's such a tourist area that many will be out of jobs I would think..

We live in a mobile home so we went to a friend's brick home to stay. We had no damage to our home, but many in our congregation had significant damage. We also have many friends in Panama City that we have only briefly been able to speak to. Only have very spotty cell service, and we don't expect electricity for a couple of weeks. We run the generator for a few hrs morning and night. I don't think they would be a problem.

I'm blown away by this video,I have 2 very young children but I have definitely watched it more than them. What really stands out are the 3 temptations and it's really hit home how Satan and his powers are so interlinked with magic,because being honest there is times when I have watched or read material of a fantasy nature and the way the organisation potrayed his powers,was like something out of a popular fantasy movie... Maybe it's my generation but sometimes unless we see things it dosnt really hit home. So much so that iv deleted some games off my phone which alot of brothers might view as harmless but for me it's now so obvious,I really have no excuse. Now the 2nd temptation really provoked a few questions but it's pointless to speculate and plus the organisation have talked about that recently. And also the way heaven or the spirit world seem so close to our world almost interwoven,especially the last scene,I thought that was pretty awesome

982 Languages is incredible. Without looking at the dropdown list, how many languages can you name? If you could name 50, that would be amazing. I don't think I could name more than say 10-15. Quite a feat. Oh, it always amazes me, to see how Jehovah is directing his organization and the things that are being accomplished. Does it not build your faith in our amazing creator, Loving Heavenly Father and Friend Jehovah?

Our situation is not as bad as most of our friends. The generator is a pain for me because of the noise it makes and the finding gas for it. However I am counting my blessings because I can sleep in my own bed. We were able to have a shortened meeting in our own KH and Grumpy is cooking good meals for me. What more can I ask for? Even the weather has cooled down so we don't have to deal with terrible heat. I only wish I could do more to help my dear friends. Oh yes, and thank you John.😘

Yes. The 2nd stack is not the same as the original stack. They might be all 6's and 7's, but not the same suite. You only remember one, not the others. New update on Shortcut script. It will now build a list and match the WOL and JWB info with jw.org. This was lots of work! The foreign language Unicode characters on WOL created a lot of issues, and had to be stripped out and replaced, so the script could do the job efficiently. There were 2 languages on WOL that have accent marks that don’t match jw.org, so they have to be corrected to match. There are also 15 languages that have non-Latin or non-Unicode numerals in the WOL Publications year ranges, so they have to be translated appropriately so you can read them in the normal Basic Latin digits. These digits were sometimes surrounded by full-width parentheses (Unicode), so they had to be accounted for. We have received some Disaster Relief Surveys to check our availability to help and what skills we have (through the LDC and after our Disaster Relief Safety Training) Will see what comes next. I did hear from a Brother between the strike zone and Tallahassee - they had minimal damage and power restored. They will be able to have their meeting tomorrow

The video conveys very well the idea that Jehovah, Jesus and the angels are looking at what we do, and that we can make them happy or sad depending on our actions, even in little things.

In the mean time, if you need something quick, due to discomfort and can’t wait to get in a good routine, drink a bottle of Magnesium citrate. It is suppose to taste like a carnonated beverage if you drink the fruit punch red one, but it does not. Don’t plan on going anywhere afterwards! Just drink it down fast over ice and in a short time you will hate me!

Currently writing this from a hotel room safe from my city. The storm is now a Category 4 and I'm honestly so happy that our congregation recommended and made arrangements for us to evacuate. I have no news regarding the state of my home but the devastation being shown on the news is insane. The roofs of building are nearly under water and parked cars are being carried away. Many of the homes are destroyed but I honestly feel incredibly blessed right now, more so than I've ever felt. Just having the privilege of knowing Jehovah puts things in such a calm and comforting perspective. Nothing we own is worth more than our lives. Living a simplified life means everything we have is replaceable. As long as we put Jehovah first, he will always provide. His love and holy spirit is drowning, overwhelming! Thank you Jehovah! I am so grateful to even speak His name!!

I just discovered something about my Chrysler 300, if the fob battery dies I can still start the car with the push button start. Apparently there is a RF chip in the fob and you can use the plastic end of the fob to push the Start button. I took the battery out of the fob this morning and was able to still unlock the car with the key and start it with the dead fob. Good to know in case the battery unexpectedly fails...

I have never seen them on the roads here but the one in our pond walks across our yard to go to the pond across our dirt road. Our alligator was about 2 feet when he arrived but now he's about 5 feet. After they get much bigger they move on to bigger bodies of water.

We are so proud of you.... I missed it the first time but figured it out on the second try.

We have one in our pond and if you go into other rivers and ponds, you will probably see one or two, but not like in southern Florida.

That is an interesting article. It mentions the lack of supplies getting to the damaged areas but does no actually address how these supplies are supposed to get with all the rubble covering the roads. Also, even though Michael was capable of destroying the area in "three hours", people cannot expect restoration in that same amount of time - but, those who refused to evacuate, like they were instructed to, think they should get immediate relief because they stayed in a storm path they should have left. As the relief and restoration of the area continues ... we can be fairly sure there will be no mention of OUR (JW's) efforts - even though we will be more organized and efficient than any other group engaging in organized relief.

I especially like this video because it tends to validate when I had already thought in relation to where it says in Psalms that was a band of angels around us it reminded me of the tears of angels seen in that video also the scripture that says oppose the devil and he will flee from you he's not one bit afraid of us so I always thought that the Angels were standing around us waiting to see what decisions we made and once they were like the video in harmony with the scriptures that's when they came to our Aid anyway these are my thoughts on it

NBC News tonight said the death toll was 13 and it is expected to keep rising. The news also said that 95% of the city of Mexico Beach has been wiped out. It was ground zero for the hurricane.
