  1. My first ever international convention (this year) in Oslo. What an experience 😂 I have never seen so many Jehovas witnesses before and I met so many! I will never forget that + I had the privilege to help organize it. The assembly was split in half, mainly Norwigean, the other side was in English.

  7. Harry and Meghan!! They are in Oz at the moment and there's a constant barrage form the media about how cutesy and wonderful they are. While I'm sure they are very 'sweet' people as they hug teenagers and getting beards tickled, we don't really need to hear about every nuance of their life.

    A good joke

Did King Solomon really need to tell them to cut the baby in half? It sounds to me like he was just splitting heirs..

  9. Why are there great earthquakes in one place after another? What is causing the increase in the last days? Is it the human factor, (everything he meddles with turns out bad)? Not every earthquake or natural disaster is due to man, of course. But fracking, for example, does seem to increase the earthquakes, and in areas not usually prone. Perhaps humans have created the "perfect storm" of out of control physical elements - more than just earthquakes but affecting the other earth cycles as well. Earth tectonics does cause weather too. We won't know for sure now, but after Armageddon.

  10. Things do not translate across all areas, cultures, and technologies, as someone here said, and I apologize again for any confusion. I think a few of the most recent comments are good-natured teasing. It does remind me of one brother I knew years ago who had this particular 'shtick.' Whenever anyone would crack a truly hilarious joke that had everyone in stitches, he would wait till the laughter had almost faded out before saying, in mock perplexity: "Um.....I don't get it," and that would crank up the laughter all over again. Good will to all. Just having fun here. There is nothing like chumming around with the friends. As long as I am at it, I will spill another: Last week's Watchtower featured a brother named Tom who almost jumped to the wrong conclusions upon finding a brother holding hands with a woman not his wife. Thankfully, he did some investigating before mouthing off, and discovered that she was his fleshly sister. After a few comments, I raised my hand and said: "In hindsight, I was rather embarrassed over the whole thing, and I am glad I did not blow the brother in." I am still working on this week's meeting, which features an elder named Tom. I am unsure which way it will go, but it may be something like: "Brothers, sister Cloudnine just laid a little dilemma on us. Maybe we can take time to discuss it now. It shouldn't take more than two or three hours. Oh, and that life that you think you have? Forget about it."

  12. I didn't see a size mentioned in the article. How big are they figuring on? Will these proposed satellites be large enough to induce any gravitational anomalies? What about concealed weapons systems on them? That would not be something I would want over my head at all times.. Have they figured out why their other satellites fall to Earth?(yeah, I know, gravity) How do they plan on avoiding space tag with all the rest of the junk up there?

    Car talk...

I just discovered something about my Chrysler 300, if the fob battery dies I can still start the car with the push button start. Apparently there is a RF chip in the fob and you can use the plastic end of the fob to push the Start button. I took the battery out of the fob this morning and was able to still unlock the car with the key and start it with the dead fob. Good to know in case the battery unexpectedly fails...

They want to save on electricity but launching three artificial moons to light up the night sky and complement moon light. 😕 I don't think this is part of the "signs in the sun and moon and stars", but who knows? This wacky idea may even work! Or not.... The Russians gave up on a similar idea back in 1999, and the French artist who imagined it wanted to use the idea to light up Paris.... https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-10-18/chinese-city-plans-to-launch-artificial-moon-by-2020/10392862

    Kingdom Hall wedding

I have been to several recently and there have been floral arrangements on the stage between the speaker and the couple against the wall and a floral arrangements near the guest book. Inhavebalsonseen a simple arrangement on the table that the couple's Bible is placed in. I have also seen the use of the TV monitors. The attached pictures are before the ceremony and then the screen changed when they were pronounced man and wife. I also have seen bows on chairs to indicate family seats and sometimes the bride's have used runners before they come down the aisle.

Our '04 Ford Escape is that way. To get a second chipped key it's $140.00 bux... I leave the chip key in the car, it's tethered to one of those coil spring leashes, I stick it on the steering wheel height adjuster. None of this is visible from outside the car. Wife and I both carry the dumb key, hers is on her keyring that has the fob, I don't have a fob, I like small key rings, I have 4 keys on mine. I also have a dumb key hiding underneath the car.... Our dumb keys do everything but start the engine, I almost scared myself when I was out of town and my car wouldn't start, it took me a minute or so to realize I was using the wrong key😧

    Car talk...

I used to work at autozone, and when I did, I worked really hard in learning as much as I could about car parts and troubleshooing; it served me well. I'm looking at different cars by now, but, because I'm poor, it won't be for something close to new, so I have to be resourceful and looking at less popular models, looking at mileage vs year, and asking for a report on the car's history. I might be able to purchase a Maxima from a friend if the other buyer ends up backing out, which is nice, because it was a pretty nice car. Otherwise, I'm going to search carefully, because when your budget is low, lemons about. Something rich people will never have to deal with.

  26. I always thought man's "ruining the earth" would be part of man's not being able to rule himself and we would experience proof of that. Which to me seems manifest in many of the disasters occurring around the world that could be linked to humans, not all, but many. How far will the ruining of the earth go I wonder?

    Fermenting

I've just began to make my own red wine. Giving it a go! Tried the simpilist way. -Took a couple of bunches of red grapes, pour boiling water to wash them (the best to use are said to be actual wine grapes, but table grapes work too, it will just be weaker) -Put in a blender for a quick spin, but trying to keep the skins entact as much as possible (makes for better wine if you do this). -Pour it into a sterile glass container -Mix in lots of honey -Add the yeast, activated in water -Shake up the container, swish it around -Seal the top with a balloon, with some holes in made from pins to let out the C02 whilst not letting outside air get to it -Leave for at least a month, the balloon will defalte when it's done, but age as wanted. Stir it around every day as it's fermenting -Near the end, sieve out the contents to seperate the wine from the skins into a new glass container -Add in some eggwhite and put it in the fridge for a while to remove the cloudiness and acidity quicker -Bottle it

  30. The part of Ukraine we are discussing in this topic is being occupied by Russia. Officially there is no war and the territory belongs to Ukraine. The truth is that they lost control over that part of their country. The east is heavily penetrated by Russian intelligence and activists and effectively the Russians want to cause a rebellion in Donetsk. This is the same scenario that has been played by Russians over and over in history. In 1939 they joined Hitler in the attack against Poland, waited 17 days (to Hitler's surprise) and then took their share, claiming they are protecting Russian speaking people like Belorussians (being within the Polish borders at that time). The same happened in other countries joined to the Soviet Union. The play the same scenario over and over. Do you remember what happened to Crimea? They took over the peninsula by sending unmarked forces, denying they were involved at all. Then they claimed they had been protecting Russian majority living in Crimea. They take over Ukraine piece by piece. actions. I wrote that because there are consequences of their Sadly, opposite the Russian bothers, our Ukrainian bothers cannot seek asylum in other countries, like the UK. Formally there is no war nor persecutions (so the government claims). Happily, brothers from Russia are getting asylum seeker status in the UK and other EU countries. To summarise - Eastern Ukraine remains uncontrolled by Ukrainian government. The government claims that the situation is better than in reality and Russia keeps calm denying any engagement in that. At the moment it is like living in the Wild West where there was no law and order.

    Car talk...

I drive a 2007 Nissan Titan. If I leave the key in the ignition and am not sitting in the driver's seat - the door won't lock My key is chipped but not a FOB. I have a hidden key that will unlock the door but it will not start the motor. Now, if I do try to use that door-only key to start the truck, as far as I understand, not only will it not work - but, it will make it so my truck will not start, even with the right key, for about 45 minutes but it is not supposed to need factory reprogramming like some cars of course, I have never tried that Now, as for that hidden key - well, it is not in one of those magnetic boxes you stick somewhere - that holds a different key I put a key to my truck toolbox in the magnetic box and hid the truck key in the toolbox except that I didn't. I never got around to hiding the toolbox key so I keep that in my wallet BTW - my daughter's 2018 Hyundai does the same thing as Richard's Chrysler

I'm sure we've all seen that video by now where they forced their way into a KH and placed literature around to "find" and make an issue of. They have no idea whose eye they are poking at right now.
