  1. Wonderful program! I "borrowed" (=copied) some quick notes from Brother Jackson. I hope he doesn't mind. .. • Drought want makes us doubt. Trust is a must. • Don't change the change. Continue to make the right change. • Expect the unexpected gradually. • Shoulder to shoulder. Imperfection... don't rub in, rub out. • "I love the Father". My quick conclusion: I am grateful I was "invited"😉 to the graduation without being invited! ❤️

  8. Me too. Okay, I just got done watching it. I personally enjoyed reflecting on the ins and outs of Jeremiah 17:7, 8 that Brother Ekran reminded us of. Someone who trusts in Jehovah will not even notice the heat or the drought! That was a good analysis of those verses! ...and thank you, William, for the transcript...

  13. I've just been informed by Social Security that I am no longer considered disabled according to their rules and will lose all support in a couple of months. I've never worked in my life, never able to maintain a strict schedule or cope long term with the chronic pain, irritable bowel and insomnia. It always inevitably leads back into chronic depression and mania. I can do a little, but then I have to follow up with resting for a day. They don't have a majority of my physical issues on file from doctor's reports which is a problem, as I was considered disabled for mental issues... but they were caused by the physical issues in the first place, just haven't been able to find a doctor who understands or properly tests for them yet. Of course, one should expect to read such a letter on one's anniversary of baptism, amirite? (Luke 22:31) “Simon, Simon, look! Satan has demanded to have all of you to sift you as wheat. I just wanted to say that I love this forum and am thankful for the time I've been able to spend with everyone I've met here. ❤️Before I inevitably regress into insanity and say and do things which I will surely regret.

    Love or criticism?

That's why I rarely post here anymore. And it often feels like there is kind of a gang mentality, especially if someone has a opinion that's different from the majority. They'll all jump you and try to show how ridiculous your opinion is. I don't need that. In person they probably wouldn't have the guts.

  16. Not Everyone Is Happy To Be Here... (Years 250 - 325) Jesus promised a wonderful future, where all those who had died would be returned to life in Paradise; and the Memorial Tombs of the world would be emptied. A world where the prophecy of eternal Eden would be fulfilled. For thousands of years, millions of people prayed to see that world come to pass. But there have been billions of others, who prayed for entirely different ideas of Paradise.Atxi believed wholeheartedly in her ancient gods, and is horrified to find herself in a Christian Paradise.James was a Pirate, rejecting all authority as cruel and selfish; only to find himself in a world ruled by the most loving Authority of all.Walter believed in nothing at all, and had no respect for the idea that there could be something greater than himself. All three of them will have to face a New Heavens and a New Earth, and make a choice that could grant them Eternal Life... At the cost of something else. *** The first two books were incredibly well received; but there were two main points of contention: First, some believed very strongly that money is not going to have any place in the New World. In my series, it was viewed as a necessity, but not anyone’s priority; for purposes of trade across a global brotherhood. Secondly, there was some debate as to whether or not there would be ‘Undecided’ people. It was a plot point; as there was no specific direction on the subject, the position was based on some deductive reasoning. These two points created some serious discussion among people I knew, and from that came some interesting viewpoints; which was the whole point of writing this series. But while there was some debate; there’s obviously no way to find out. The final word on each debate is: This is a fictional novelization of a place that’s certain to come eventually. So after ‘agreeing to disagree’ with half a dozen people; I then proceeded to write an entire third novel around the most contentious points of discussion. As always, this is just a fictional viewpoint; and I can’t wait to find out the parts I got wrong. Two or three chapters will be added each week, around this time. Four Chapters for Launch Day. Kindle edition will be complete in a few weeks; paperback a bit after that; pending completion. Part One: Resurrection Chapter One: James Chapter Two: Atxi Chapter Three: Walter Chapter Four: In The Beginning

    My DNA

I have been doing genealogy since 1990. I finally got the ancestry DNA test for myself and my wife. I have learned a lot since then. DNA will not show you exactly where all your ancestors come from. You inherit 50% of your DNA from each parent randomly. You don't need to be concerned that you 'can only get [your] maternal line. 50% of you DNA comes from your mother (randomly) and 50% from your mother (randomly). (You may be thinking of the mitochondrial DNA for women, but that is only a small part of the DNA. You still get a random 50% of you DNA from your father. Getting a random 50% means that you may get DNA results different from your siblings even if they are the same sex. My DNA was originally said to be 29% Scandinavian, but further analysis as more people did the tests showed that the Scandinavian was actually not there. (This makes me wonder about all the names I found in my genealogy that have Scandinavian origins.) I have seen the Ancestry DNA recently advertised for as low as $49.00, but that sale may have ended. My most recent results show: Great Britain 69% (Increased by 44%) Ireland/Scotland/Wales 31% (Increased by 11%)

    My DNA

I did actually. My grand aunt was married to someone who was descended from Edward IV and Henry VII. Her mother, my great grandmother, was the first woman to drive in Sussex and her husband, my great grandfather, who was a stock jobber, started the London Stock Exchange London to Brighton Walk. He also raced bicycles and co-wrote a book with a famous cyclist called George Lacey Hillier. His, my great-grandfather's, Penny Farthing is owned by the Amberley Museum and currently on loan to the Worthing Museum. His sister, my great-grand aunt was married to a very wealthy man called William Mosenthal, who, along with my 2x great grandfather, the father of this line, (this is the Jewish line of my OP) had a lot to do with South African diamond mining. They owned a house in Berkshire called Tittenhurst which was once owned by the Cadbury family and later bought by the Beatles and turned into a recording studio. There is heaps more stuff but I don't want to bore you with tales of my ancestry. It is exciting, though, to find ancestors that had a bit more than a run of the mill life.

  33. If your husband likes mechanical things - you will want to make sure you go to Wallkill ... that is were the press is and the binding and shipping. It might make a difference on where you are planning to stay. Warwick and Wallkill are on the same side of the Hudson River. Warwick is pretty much an all day tour if you want to really see the exhibits - Wallkill can be seen in a morning or an afternoon. Patterson can also be seen in a half-day visit. Tuxedo does NOT have tours. All of them have a full helping of Jehovah's spirit and you can feel the love and trust at any of the facilities.

Well, without using those kits I have a pretty idea of my heritage. My mother's mom is Sioux, her dad is Cherokee. My dad's mom's folks are from Barbados, his dad is Caucasian. Sooo I guess that makes me a mutt, lol, lol. But seriously this makes me all the more anxious for the resurrection to start for then, in time, I'll be able to meet the whole clan!

Definitely sounds like me. I’m a people person. I love being together with others. I just don’t like being made to feel like I’m invisible. I know I shouldn’t feel this way, but I do. I like that...Singles ball. What singles ball. Kinda like when a sister saw me and says: “ I’m sure you know there are 3 sisters that had surgery.” Ummm, no, I didn’t know.” All I could do is give the deer caught in the headlights look. O well, yeah, I’ll help you nurse your wounds if you’ll nurse mine. 🤓🤓🤓

  41. I have been on both sides of that particular fence. I had an awful time with my ex-husband till Jehovah opened the door for me to escape. But apart from that, snap @Loopy As I was reading this, it could have been me writing it. The only additonal problem for me is some chronic health issues which curb a lot of what I would like to be able to do. A side not, however, is a few months ago a brother came up to me in my hall and said, so and so asked me to say hi to you. I saw them at the singles ball the other night. Singles ball? What singles ball? There was a singles ball??? I will just get back in my corner, nurse my wounds and wait patiently for the new system. Thank goodness for you guys .. all of you. I appreciate this forum so much.

  42. Yes! Living with an atheist who hates Jehovah (I know, how can he possibly hate a God he doesn't believe exists, right?) and living 60 miles roundtrip away from the hall, JWTalk has truly been a spiritual lifeline for me. Before JWTalk, there was no one to share an appreciation for the beauty of Jehovah's creation with. (Hubby thinks it is all just some random accident.) No one to share the gems of personal Bible study with. Being able to praise Jehovah with my fellow believers PERIOD is such an amazing blessing!!! Psalm 22:25 "I will praise you in the large congregation." Psalm 35:18 "Then I will give thanks to you in the great congregation; I will praise you among the throngs of people." Psalm 40: 10 "...I do not hide your loyal love and your truth in the great congregation." Hebrews 2:12 "as he says: “I will declare your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you with song.” Yup! We're all congregated here in cyberspace...and I think it's pretty GREAT!

    Love or criticism?

John, thank you. But, isn't your post de'facto 'criticism ' ? hahaha But seriously, post #9 said "too scared to post". I know I've had that feeling on occasion. Criticism , imho , is a mental-health issue. Low self esteem, high self esteem, anger, resentment etc will lead to a tendency to be critical of anything and everything. Because it makes the person feel better about THEMSELVES. So, it can simply be a selfish motive. But not exclusively, of course. I find myself guilty of "hasty posting". Even as I type I realize I may not have all the facts. It's like I have a compelling urge to contribute and the check frequently for likes or hearts or googly eyes ! Can I get an Amen ? However, I never criticize, because I know someone smarter than me will take me out at the knees. About this forum; I ask myself "How did I manage to get through life before I joined" ? I NEED this forum ! I shudder to think of it gone for some reason. It's like an international coffee break. We can speak about any subject and get interesting points of view. I literally have thanked Jehovah God for this forum !! Anyone else drone that? I wouldn't be surprised to hear a YES ! I've said it before and I'll say it again - I LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!

  44. I had to withdraw from commenting on many scriptural topics for that very reason, that's WHY, you often see only "humor" in my comments. If I have to "defend" details and giving "Insight Volume" additional supporting comments because someone has a critical eye, then I simply do not have time for it. To busy in real life with heavy business and congregational responsibilities (especially with the spiritual ones) Still enjoying the forum, and some of the comments are just "groundbreaking" and extremely up-building. On the other hand, if I ever made anyone feeling bit "green" by my comments then I apologize YES, we need to keep ourselves from "keyboard bravery" as Tortuga pointed out. Great reminder - THANK YOU

Thank you John, great reminder. Any of us can fall into this trap - we are human, and sinful after all. Paul also wished to do the right thing, but admitted he failed. We all want to do the right thing by our brothers, and sometimes we just don't think things out before we speak (or write). So, it's good we hear the 'straight' truth, from time to time. We all need the readjustment. And Nina, I hope you get to see the lovely nature of this forum. Overall it is a great place, with positive and upbuilding comments. We can have a laugh and deep spiritual discussions with friends from all over the world. But, we can do with a bit of a polish sometimes too.

Thank you for being brave, I am new to social media and struggle with praise and constructive advice especially when I can’t see the person, as such I run like a scared bunny when I got “construction advice” for my first few posts. As such I just read mostly now. Too scared to post. So thank you, it needed to be said. [emoji3059][emoji847] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  48. There wasn't a great knowledge of Egypt and dating of the pyramids back then, so whenever anything was found there, then many people would automatically look for Biblical evidence, and some would get a bit carried away. There were many in Christendom who had the theory that Seth lived long enough to travel to Egypt and help with the building of the Pyramids and had had them built with clues to special knowledge that might match Biblical prophecies. Many Victorians had sponsored explorations to find more evidence from other pyramids - as if they were all from the same eras in history - to discover clues to Bible prophecy. Later Archaeology has of course shown that the Pyramids are purely the result of pagan beliefs of afterlife and no Truth can be found there. But all those people were faithfully seeking the Truth and we know some of them got closer than others in their faithful quest and were humble enough to discard those theories they once spent time and money looking into to no avail. This left them open for new and better quests for Truth in just the Bible itself. We are still at it today as the light gets brighter when it needs to and Jehovah sees fit to use humble men to guide us and we all check and reason for ourselves on what is put before us. We are all on the quest together to survive together with faith based on reasoned study, so we can continue receiving instructions we have come to know are right to follow.
