  1. You have to love a presentation by Br. Lett. I would enjoy looking at his face even if was just reading the Phone Book out loud....❤️ And if he threw in the word "immorality" instead of "immortality" again, I would laugh just as hard the 2nd time. The look on his face... I had him for a CO for several visits.

    California Fires

I just want to share a few things i have heard recently about the Disaster Relief in Paradise California. Two elders from our congregation have been asked to help the brothers and sisters in Paradise even though we are over 100 miles away, I don't if any other brothers in this area were asked to help. One brother is working with the Safety department. He said that bags of safety equipment (PPE) were provided for each of the friends, each bag had disposable coveralls (Tyvek), masks and gloves. He was assigned to ensure the friends knew how to use the PPE before they went to their property to sift through the ashes. There are also brothers assigned to ensure the property was safe to enter. He told me that in some areas the fire was so hot that it not only burned the trees but it also consumed the tree root ball, which left a cavity in the ground, some residents have apparently fallen into the holes so the brother search the friends property for weak areas in the ground and mark them with flags. He also told me that brothers and sisters are set up to assist the friends with housing, transportation, insurance, everything they need. Friends that are experienced in those areas are on hand to help. He said that sometimes a small group of friends may show up to get help and there are 40-50 experienced friends waiting to help them. Just the opposite of what the other fire victims are finding in the shelters... The other brother from our hall is there to spiritually encourage the friends. I heard from someone else that the brothers are assigned a group of families and their assignment is to ensure they get everything they need, everything. There was one older sister that they had a hard time locating, they finally found her living with relatives several hours away. The direction from the branch was to ensure the brothers did not add to the friends burden, so the brothers had to drive all the way in the opposite direction to meet her just to make sure she was being cared for...🧡 I heard last night there is a new arrangement for donating goods, clothing or services to the fire victims. There is a website set up where all of the goods or services that are being donated or loaned will be listed along with the donaters contact information. If the fire victim sees something on the site they need, they contact the donator and make arrangements to get it. This prevents large warehouses of unused donated goods from going to waste. It sounds like only one brother in each congregation will be entering the information on the site... LDC and Disaster Relief really have this well organized...

    "Never Alone"

Past Sunday while waiting for the brother to lead the service group after the meeting a video was playing on the monitor, and one I especially liked was about Joseph and his trial from being sold into Egypt. While it played a song although quietly, at that time I didn't know the name of it. So after we got our assignment I asked a brother the name of the video, and he said "Never Alone." It's absolutely soo beautiful! A little tear jerking I will admit, probably because of the way the brother sung it accompanied with the video, but then I'm nothing but a heave of emotions for things like that anyway. Enjoy it.

  5. I like how the new Ezekiel book actually ties in with that video. How it breaks down the events during the Great Tribulation and shows us no matter where we find ourself (in the woods, in hiding, at a meeting, etc.) Jehovah will always be with us if we follow His direction. ❤️

  6. I loved that video! Don't worry, Jenny, the Governing Body will teach us what we need to know. Just stay close to Jehovah's organization and follow it's lead. There may be times we don't understand fully, but don't be disheartened, we can trust that Jesus Christ will lead his people.

  7. Im just wondering what was your initial reaction after attending the regional convention of 2018 wherein it shows the give me courage music video. The video shows the attack of gog and magog in the forest then Jesus appeared from the sky. Some actually were excited. Some felt that "this is it" .. Some were just "we just need to be prepared." Some were moved to pioneer. I had mixed emotions. Then I keep on watching the videos. Trying to understand what does this all mean.. (I think im becoming a slow learner) Anyway, I've been into auxilliary pioneering since 2011 and a full time pioneer for almost 2 years. and Im praying that I could go back again in that privilege. We all have ups and down... Im glad that Im always present in the meetings and in the ministry... I know, we should not be concern of the time and date but Jesus that pay attention to how you listen. The morning worship by christopher mavor says that these signs should be deduce.. We need to use our power of discernment in order to understand. Then we can understand them like lightning from the east and west.

    My ancestry DNA results!

Dear Brother Jack; My husband's grandmother was one of Jehovah's Witnesses (she passed away before I married into the family) and I wanted to learn more about her.I thought that if nobody was going to be there for her in the new system, I wanted to be there. Although light-skinned, she had Arfican ancestry. Her great- great grandfather (my sons are generation 7) was the first African born black slave who settled in Prince Edward Island, Canada, (by way of Rhode Island MA.) He was originally from Western Africa (My guess Benin-Togo) as his name was Dengbo, the Mandinka based name with the common 'ngbo' letter combination. I met a student from Republic of Benin who told me his name Dengbo was common in her home land. I have 9 generations traced from him and 7 generations traced from my sons other African line. Two of our nieces have had ancestry tests done and Togo-Benin/ Nigeria showed up. This person, the first African born slave on Prince Edward Island, was unique in that he was born free (father was wealthy chief,) was captured into slavery, signed a manumission, bought his prospective wife out of slavery to marry him, and died free. It is unusual for this to happen in one life time. I have made a spread -sheet chart for my sons and their relatives to trace a straight shot to this ancestor( and their other African line up to 7 generations.). As I trace this family line, I have learned more and more about the history of the times. Dengbo Sickles was a very Bible based, spiritual man. I have his own words quoted from his anticipated demise. It's a small world and I am always astonished that Jehovah knew these people first. Thanks for the info. I have just discovered this thread. I am also impressed with snakes and all of Jehovah's creations.

  14. Yes, it appears fire is indiscriminate. The Sister whose house burnt to the ground in the 1983 fires in Victoria had a modern brick house. The house next door was made and clad with timber. We call them Weatherboard houses. It survived! As we drove around, there didn't seem to be a way to tell which would stand, and which would burn. It didn't seem to depend on construction material, although you would think it must have some bearing. But fire is very destructive as it reduces things to ash. It was called Ash Wednesday. 15. Yes it does make me question the whole point of the popup, and thus made me seek help. No offense Sis. I was concerned about what was confusing to you. I don't know what to do, more help the merrier, right! Don't feel that way please. I apologize for making you feel like that Sis.

  16. So the original premise was to discredit the spit test, but newer info points to dna changes before, or even after birth (say some geneticists). If you are researching this concept, try for the newer articles. p.s. so far, I have enjoyed this dna and auto-biography thread. When I retired from teaching, there were more social studies reports of indigenous persons on this continent having been from Europe (through that strait) as well as other sources. Perhaps I will do a personal DNA test this year. Some relatives on my husband's side have light eyes - hazel, light brown, green, blue. One of my grandmother's Sicilian brothers 'disowned' me for marrying a black man. I also got beat and spit on by my older brother. Incidentally, my great uncles were of darker complexion than my husb. I have read some serious accounts of there having been Moors in Sicily. Wonder if that would show up or if it has shown up. Research indicates that Moors were in fact in Italy, but the conclusions are controversial. Yes, of course, we perceive for a fact that God is not partial, but geography is fascinating. I have met but have little info on my now deceased bio Dad.

    "Never Alone"

I just finished listening to it seems like a 1,000 times over. I got sick in service today though was able to sit outside, a sister very lovingly sat with me. Then we go back in and I couldn't find nothing better to do but start crying for crying out loud. I'm soooo tired of being sick! So tired. I know the future is just around the corner, maybe right down the street it's that close. But you get tired. Past Sunday's WA I thought of once I was home, and then I really cried like a baby. Just so tired of this, my sick body.

  20. It summed up the convention. All those there needed courage. But it was because they were able to show courage during previous tests of faith that they were able to be courageous during that final attack of Gog. Some brothers did take the video too literally, not realising it was depicting the prophecy from Ezekiel. They thought that we will literally be gathered together in the woods, and surround by armed soldiers.

    My ancestry DNA results!

Dr. Phil's son is married to one of three identical triplets. Their DNA came back mostly similar, but not 100 per cent identical. Previously, in a crime committed by one of a set of twins, the DNA evidence could not separate them out and some avoided convictions. Now, it has been found that after the initial separation in utero, there are minor changes influenced in the early embryonic, but separate environment.

  43. This year is no exception. Included in The Inside Story is a beautiful rendition of our song 58, Searching for Friends of Peace. I like the song in the first place, and enjoy singing it at our meetings. But they have done a marvelous job at it, especially the effort they put forth in singing it in multiple languages! I didn't know they learned so many languages in the Gilead School! For all you music fans who like to listen to our songs on your phones, I have converted it to mp3 format and uploaded it to my song collection. California Fires

Update: SACRAMENTO, Calif. — PG&E has acknowledged to regulators that it found bullet holes, a broken transmission-tower hook and other flaws with equipment at sites where the catastrophic Camp Fire is believed to have started last month. In its most detailed accounting yet of the problems that might have led to the Nov. 8 wildfire that consumed most of Paradise, the beleaguered utility told state officials that its inspectors have found a "broken C-hook" on a high-voltage tower near the community of Pulga, northeast of Paradise. Lawyers for Camp Fire survivors suing PG&E have suggested the broken hook might have allowed a live "jumper" cable to make contact with the tower itself, showering the dry ground below with sparks. Separately, at a power pole in the Big Bend area of Concow several miles away, PG&E employees found that "the pole and other equipment was on the ground with bullets and bullet holes at the break point of the pole and on the equipment," PG&E senior director of regulatory relations Meredith Allen wrote in a letter to the Public Utilities Commission.

He told us if they had 4 doors it wouldn't be a coupe it would be a sedan....🙄 I will try to share your names and location with them Friday...thanks for letting me know.
