Exactly. Do not "miss it's purpose" gives a better understanding of the meaning and intent of the original text. We can have absolute confidence in our translation. I have several commentaries which give alternate options for various verses throughout the bible. I'm always impressed with our translation because every time it gives what most scholars say is the superior meaning or selected wording, even in the smallest detail.
