  3. Their names are in the Book. Imagine the joy of relatives at the resurrection of these dear brothers and their joy too, having realised their faith right up to it's ultimate expression - dying for one's faith and love for Jehovah and his precious Son.
  4. After watching I had to send this email (with individual edits) to several members of my congregation who I thought would particularly benefit from it : Dear ***********, I know you won't have listened to this talk yet because if you had you would have sent it straight to me. If I could have an audio chip with this talk on it implanted in my brain so that it would play by just thinking about it - I would have the operation today. Jehovah, through his faithful and discreet slave never fails to amaze me, He like His Son, our precious Saviour, truly is a Good Shepherd, nursing mother in tenderness and affection, a rock and a fortress to run into and a spiritual physician for our any of our grave heart conditions and situations.

How I Found the Truth

  • How I found the Truth
Contacted by special pioneer married couple in March 1970, sent request for further contact to the society as they didn't come back as promised (they had just moved into the area and it was a difficult time for them), started studying in the 'Truth' book. Went from one to three studies a week and got baptised in 1971 in Doncaster.

My Hobbies & Interests

  • My Interests

Lorna Doone, Pride and Prejudice, Ivanhoe, all James Herriot's books, all Gervase Phinn books, Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories, 'Animals Can Do Anything' by Jean Craighead-George, all works by David Attenborough and all books by Gerald Durrel including my all-time favourite book not published by the WTB&TS, Durrel's - 'My Family and other Animals' . . . a literary 'pearl of great value'
  • My favorite music
Beatles, and other 60's pop music in general plus music of the 40's and 50's. Eva Cassidy, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton,Vangelis, the Gothard Sisters, Jeff Beck, Mark Knopfler, Hank Marvin, Pink Floyd, Smashing Pumpkins, Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice. Elgar, Vaughn Williams, Beethoven and most classical music plus Irish folk.
  • My favorite movies
Adventure movies and documentaries, horse operas, sci-fi, e.g - 'The Martian', romantic films, (if not too sloppy and not if immoral, e.g - 'Sleepless in Seattle'.
  • My favorite quotes
Because it is similar to the way Jesus' answers defused and stopped the mouths of those trying to trip him up, my favourite quote is from Ringo Starr in the movie - 'A Hard Day's Night'. Because of the violence between 'Mods' and 'Rockers' in England back then, when the Beatles arrive in America a reporter asks Ringo, "What are you, A mod or a rocker?" Ringo replies "I'm a mocker".
