  1. I’ve been thinking more about that lately myself. It’s so disgusting out there.
  2. We just all need to stop thinking and/or asking how much worse could it get! We don’t want to know!!!
  3. I get what you are saying. Back then we had three elders and one ministerial servant so those poor brothers were already doing a lot. Having us wo’man’ the counters gave them a slight break. (I should add that most of the other brothers were illegal immigrants and could not be used to even pass mics) It would be interesting to know how it gets decided according to numbers in current years. Could be that if the congregation elders express being overworked their CO will make recommendations. For many years missionary sisters were trained on how to handle preaching and teaching in remote areas with few if any brothers so it’s not something really new. And nowadays bethel is using sisters for all types of things and LDC expects brothers to be prepared to take instructions from sisters if those sisters have been given the task to instruct. Im sure certain areas of the world are slower to adapt in that mentality though.
  4. Years ago myself and some other sisters helped run the sound box and were assigned to do the literature and magazine counters before and after meetings. Technically the elders could have done it but then they would not have been able to do other tasks and shepherding. Similarly I know the Spanish congregation that meets in the same hall is using sisters for AV. They have brothers but nowadays a lot more brothers are needed per meeting to take care of all the tasks.
  5. Several things. -I just want to start walking and not worry about where I end up. Walk from one side of a land to another. Up and down the continents without worrying if I will have a place to sleep or food and water to drink. -My idea for save travel across the oceans is to island hop because Jehovah will cause new islands to rise up all along a route we can easily navigate with a simple sailing ship. -One day when I am ready I would like big Mediterranean style house with extra rooms for guests, a big courtyard full of plants and a huge kitchen similar to the one in the move A Walk In the Clouds. A kitchen where many women have room to gather and talk and work on food and projects together. I will leave that for now. I have lots of other plans but this is just for a start.
  6. Myself and another elders wife almost chased down a df’d brother to be able to say a quick hello. We were in the hall looking for him but couldn’t find him. So we went together out the side door to see if he was in the parking lot. Still nothing. Headed back to the front door and there he was coming out. We said hello and so good to see you. He said thank you with a big smile and complimented my friend on her slacks!!! It was the best experience!!!! 🤗
  7. Sister slacks started in service yesterday. I wore slacks for SMPW. I did look for an email indicating otherwise before I did that but no letter was emailed so I wore my wide legged linen slacks. Got there and the key man had no tie. lol Today many sisters in slacks and brothers without ties. Move with the chariot or get run over! 😜
  8. If they are not on the platform, why worry so much? I think the whole point of recent changes is less judgement and rules, not finding new rules to make.
  9. I visited France in the early 90’s. We went to an English meeting in Nice. There was a brother passing mikes who had a beard. We, as americans, were blown away. So there were beards 30 years ago. And yes, it opened our minds to the possibility of it coming eventually to America.
  10. Yeah I had to look this up. We do not go by the modern Jewish calendar but by the biblical lunar calendar. So the new moon in Jerusalem is March 10th and April 8th. Northern spring equinox is March 20th. The closest new moon is the March 10th one which starts the month of Nisan. March 24th would be the biblical Nisan 14. I think I got all that right. lol
  11. Work on the tush scratching. The other things are tolerable. 😂
  12. Do you speak Japanese? What made you choose Japan? Sounds like an awesome adventure in store for you!
  13. I bet it was tasty! I find most vegan restaurant food to be very full of fat and unless it’s Asian to be without color. it’s like they just try to recreate something that looks like a meat dish instead of creating a beautiful vegetable heavy dish. I hope that changes with time. Since I’m still working on weight loss I tend to go Asian. I know I can get a higher number of veggies and it isn’t just lettuce and tomatoes.
  14. I started making sourdough. Managed a couple of nice loaves. Problem is I want to eat them and I’m trying to lose weight. Ugh!!! Havent tried doing a pizza yet. If and when I do, it will be a vegan one.
  15. So sorry about your roof!!! Did you guys put tarps over the roof in the meantime? Does insurance not cover a hotel or something while it’s being repaired? Yikes!!
  16. I see your point. I’m guessing Jesus knows how to figure that out. And while we have educated guesses even from the slave, that type of detail falls under the now famous category of “We don’t know” lol
  17. Nothing wrong with goatees but I’ve yet to see one I personally like. They are just ew to me. One of our elders sported one last night and it came in all gray. Looks like he ate a powdered donut. 🍩
  18. I think you might be confused. It will be a third of satan’s system destroyed. The religious part destroyed first. The second third would be financial and the last third is government. Although I could have missed it but I don’t remember them saying a third of the people will die.
