  1. Good afternoon, JWL Merge is no longer working for merging JW Library files. Has anyone found another reliable tool to do this? I probably need to buckle down and just use one primary source for adding new notes but it's tough. I like my tablet for personal study at home but I don't drag it around with me to the store/errands. Sometimes I get a few minutes to look things up on my phone and update my notes there. So, I end up with 2 different copies of study notes in JW Library. I hope someone has found another way to merge study notes.
  2. This news article says he's back in Denmark. I'm assuming he can attend meetings now if they aren't under COVID lockdown. What an amazing development! https://www.krqe.com/news/world/released-from-russia-jehovahs-witness-returns-to-denmark/
  3. Illustration the speaker used in our public talk today: "Once saved, always saved" is as accurate as "Once fit, always fit" Wow brother - point taken! 😄
  4. Oops - I forgot to mention that I saw this article on the jw.org homepage either on Tues or Thurs before service. The AP article was posted yesterday (Saturday). So the jw.org article preceeded the AP article by several days. That timing was faith-strengthening for me.
  5. I didn't realize how timely the jw.org home page article was until I checked today's news.
  6. This is an outstanding radio interview with Brother Hendricks from October 6th. It covers how things have changed since COVID, why we don't celebrate the holidays and why we preach. At least those are the highlights that I really appreciated. Here's the link to the show. The interview starts at the 3 hour 4 minute mark. WICH Radio 1310 AM - Norwich, CT: (Please scrub to the 3:04 mark - 3 hour, 4 minute) https://www.mixcloud.com/wich1310/wednesday-10-06-2021-stu-bryer-show/ The interview is 28 minutes long.
  7. I believe that is true about the Russian Orthodox church initiating & fanning the flames of persecution. It's no wonder Jehovah executes judgement on false religion first. How fitting that Jehovah turns one part of Satan's kingdom against another part of his kingdom --> wild beast DEVASTATES the harlot. It's no wonder Satan is being such a vicious persecutor. He knows we are in "the last of the last days" and he's about to see his rulership implode and then suffer loss of his power & freedom. Our dear brothers & sisters (and us) when facing vicious persecution are assured of Jehovah's tender affection and the complete reversal of any physical or emotional scars: James 5:11 - "Look! We consider happy those who have endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome Jehovah gave, that Jehovah is very tender in affection and merciful." 8. Hello! A local brother has collected some iPads that friends have donated for bible students in our local Apache territory. I have one that I'm helping to setup but the screen is cracked. The cost to replace the screen is too high. I saw information on the internet about a product called Liquid Glass and it's in stock locally. I have no experience with this product. Have any of you? Is it a good product? I don't want to pass along an iPad with a crack in it for fear pieces will chip off and it will become sharp to the touch.
  9. I heard this illustration at service arrangements this morning. The Apache Pregroup in our area is having a supplemental visit from a Navajo circuit overseer. The illustration used was targeted for a matriarchal culture but it applies to other cultures also! The topic is: The Importance of Meeting Attendance God wants his children to come together and worship him together. At the meeting, our Bibles are opened. Whose thoughts are we hearing? God's thoughts. So, how important do you think it is to come to the meeting? Illustration: If you were sick, would your mom maybe bring you food in bed until you felt better enough to eat with the family? But once you get better, once you get strong enough, where does mom expect you to eat? In bed, or at the table with the rest of the family? So, when we are first learning about God, it takes us a while to get the strength to do what God wants. But after we get strong enough, where does God expect us to learn? Just here at our home, or at the table with the rest of the family? <--- And that would be at the Kingdom Hall. So coming to meetings is something that Jehovah expects us to do.
  10. Has anyone been having issues with JW library when listening to audio? I'm running it on my phone - galaxy. I listen to Media --> audio --> and then original songs or the audio for the convention. It plays for a while and then the app resets & goes back to main screen. It happens when playing audio inside of a WT article also. I'm playing downloaded audio - not playing from the cloud. I'm hoping there's a setting I can adjust to keep this from happening. Any ideas? 11. OH WOW! Thank you so much for sharing!
  12. Thank you @Br. Ice & @WilliamChew - that makes sense. It's a powerful statement to say it is a 'protection'. Thank you for sharing that article too @WilliamChew I pulled out the questions Br Hyatt mentioned & how he introduced them: When offering assistance, instead of showing up with all the appropriate verses, show up with all the appropriate questions. 1) What do you want me to do for you? 2) How may I help? 3) What's been happening in your life? I look forward to using these! Brother Hyatt's part was simple yet amazing. This is especially so when talking to long time RVs or students.
  13. I have a question about the part "What do you want me to do for you?" There's a point I can't quite wrap my brain around - how did the question "What do you want me to do for you?" serve as a protection for Jesus in his dealings with James and John? This point is reiterated when the question is applied to us: Don’t make the mistake of things you know what a person wants or needs. Jesus did know, and he still asked. Questions: 1) They dignify the audience 2) They allow your listener to reveal what is in his or her heart 3) It may protect you 4) It allows you to render meaningful assistance I really want to understand how asking questions can protect us. I'm hoping someone can clarify this point for me 🙏
  14. Oops! It's June I'm looking for and I saw the transcript is available - thank you brother! I was just in JW Library and thought 'What happened to July?' 😆
  15. Brother @WilliamChew - is there a transcript available for JWB July 2021? I've searched for a thread on it but I can't seem to find one. So many good points in the Gilead Graduation talks that are helpful for the ministry.
  16. Oh wow, so sad. You're right - we need God's Kingdom [emoji177] Thank you for sharing this article. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  17. It doesn't show lack of faith at all. I chose to have the vaccine but my husband & aunt chose not to. They are both concerned about adverse reactions. They have medical conditions that they fear could be exasperated by the vaccine. Initially, I was this greatly concerned by their choices. But then I could see the reasons for their concern & could see how upsetting it would be if my personal choice to get the vaccine was not respected. The bottom line is that it's a personal choice and there is so much that can be done to limit exposure - masking up, washing hands, limiting time in public/using grocery pickup services or shopping during non-peak hours, etc. It's a diligent process to avoid the virus whether vaccinated or not. In our area, I've heard of several who've contracted the virus although they were fully vaccinated. It's so true that this pandemic isn't over yet. If not being vaccinated puts limits on being able to meet in person again, I'll stay within those limits with my husband although I'm vaccinated. Satan would love to see this virus & the controversy around it divide our family emotionally and spiritually. This virus could also alienate us from part of our spiritual family if we start to view vaccinated or non-vaccinated in a negative way because of their choice. That belongs in the world - not in our JW family. Allowing a spirit of disunity to enter our heart is the biggest opportunity for an assault on our faith in my opinion. Someday - in the New World - we will be truly free & this will all be a distant memory. Things that are intense and stress-inducing now won't matter. It helps to keep reminding myself of that [emoji177] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  18. And my brother's response when I showed him this UN Mural and description of the art: Haha. How ironic. The U.N., AKA "the image of the beast" in Revelation, has an image of a dragon with a sword in it. They don't even know they depicted the slaying of their own boss.
  19. Wow, no hidden agenda here. Reject God's Kingdom in favor of man's rule! This is sickening. Satan and the demons must relish this artwork. Thank you for sharing @Nirex
  20. This is a new book scheduled for release this spring: No Greater Love: A Family Bears Witness to the Genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda Tharcisse Seminega and his family are mentioned in the 2012 Yearbook with regard to the genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda. This is the first time a book has been published revealing the help and love shown to Tutsi Witnesses by the Hutu brothers and sisters at great risk to their own lives during the Rwandan genocide from April-July 1994. Over 800,000 died in 100 days in the smallest country in Africa, the most populated country in Africa, and the most ‘Christian’ country in Africa, with some 90% claiming to be Christian. Further information is at https://rwanda-nogreaterlove.com.
  21. Hannah & Pe·ninʹnah - did their relationship improve over time? How close or not so close will they be in the new world? I often wonder how people like Pe·ninʹnah will feel in the new world finding out that their negative qualities were read/studied by millions of people for centuries. Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
  22. @hatcheckgirl I remember my grandmother saying the reason priests were required to be celebate is so that the church keeps any property donated in the priests name instead of it going to his wife or children. It helped maintain the wealth of the church. I remember seeing a slight reference to this in a WT article several years back. I just tried to find it 'from the horse's mouth'. Yep, according to www.uscatholic.org, my grandmother was right! I'm not surprised at all: "Throughout the first centuries of Christianity, clergy continued to get married, though marriage was not required. It was not until the turn of the first millennium that the church started to canonically regulate clerical marriage, mainly in response to clerical abuses and corruption. Of particular concern was the transmission at the death of a clergyman of church property to his wife and children. The Council of Pavia (1018), for example, issued regulations on how to deal with children of clergy, declaring them serfs of the church, unable to be ordained and barring them from inheriting their father's benefices (income connected to a church office or parish). In 1075 Pope Gregory VII issued a decree effectively barring married priests from ministry, a discipline formalized by the First Lateran Council in 1123. Since then celibacy has been required of Roman Catholic priests, though the Catholic churches of the East have continued to allow priests to marry before their ordination." https://www.uscatholic.org/glad-you-asked/2009/08/why-are-priests-celibate
  23. Catholics in Australia won't make priests report confessions: https://apnews.com/83a3961a3808451193b7982b411d2774 This is so incredibly wrong. Clearly false religion thinks they have governments wrapped around their little finger. It's no wonder the beast will turn on Babylon the Great. If course, since Jehovah puts it in their heart to do so, there's no need for need reports like this to bring on the attack on religion. However, I do think there will be some in the world who will not be surprised - more like RELIEVED to see this nonsense addressed swiftly and completely. There was a similar article in the BBC News app. A law goes into effect that Priests must report abuse and they have vowed not to adhere to it?!? Satan and the demons must be laughing at these stupid humans they manipulate so easily. They have a tight hold on abusing humans until they are abyssed. How disgusting that they do it in such a grand way under the guise of religion/worship.
  24. There is a video available on Amazon Prime Video called 'The Schoolgirl the Nazi's and the Purple Triangles'. It's really good! It's only 30 minutes but there is quite a bit packed into that 30 minutes. I was so glad to come across this video. A local group of our Witness students is reading 'Facing the Lion' about Simone Arnold-Liebster's childhood. What an inspiring read for both parents and young ones. This video will be a part of an upcoming class.
