  1. I was using MyTime, but noticed that it was not being updated by the developer. (I just double checked, and there haven't been any updates in 3 years.) So, I use Service Planner. I used to have an android phone, and used Ministry Assistant. That has been my all time favorite to this day! Unfortunately, not available on iPhone. 🙁
  2. https://www.jw.org/en/library/videos/#en/mediaitems/LatestVideos/pub-jwb-086_10_VIDEO I didn't see this one posted. If it was, sorry! I was searching for the transcript.
  3. Woke up to ice🥶covered everything...car, driveway, stairs, etc. My husband still had to go to work, in a place where people DO NOT know how to drive 🚗in this weather and DOT doesn't have the equipment to take care of the roads/bridges. It's 27F now and expected to rise to 37F. Enough to have the ice melt a bit before it refreezes again tonight. I am trying to tell myself that it's better than a foot of snow❄️...but it's not. At least snow you get to play in.⛄ Ice is just dangerous with no fun to be found. At least it's not raining anymore. 🤪
  4. I tried to sign up for Meekspace about a year ago...finally gave up when I couldn't figure out how to register.
  5. Pandemic keeps Jehovah’s Witnesses from door-to-door ministry Saw this news report from Las Vegas & wanted to share!
  6. We have a whole day of activity planned to include ministry, morning worship, making the bread, singing songs...this whole day is devoted to spiritual activity and showing our kids how much we appreciate the sacrifice of both Jesus and Jehovah.
  7. It’s in the book Jehovah’s Witnesses Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom, page 665. It was taken in Wewelsburg concentration camp during the Nazi regime.
  8. She was shot by Capitol police after climbing through a window to gain access. https://abc7.com/ashli-babbitt-capitol-hill-riot-fatal-shooting/9426071/
  9. This one always gets me and the kids going... https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&docid=1014316&srcid=share
  10. School districts in Eastern NC are doing a mixed approach. Students in person 2 days and online 3. So, if you’re in group A, you attend in person Mon/Tues. Group B attends Thurs/Fri and schools get “deep cleaned” on Weds...no students. Some counties may differ slightly, but that’s the broad aspect of it. Needless to say, they are already having issues getting the materials kids need (internet included)! I am so very grateful we homeschool!
  11. So excited to see this!! You have to choose the pdf in order to see it, as it suggests. https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&pub=nwtsty&srcid=share
  12. We’re in coastal NC, and our tourists love 💕 our beaches! This past weekend was insane with the traffic to go over a 2 lane bridge to get to them. Took approximately 30 min to go 2 miles! Unfortunately, we have to go down this road in order to get to work/grocery store/doctor. It takes some planning. And...the beaches are opened, but not the restrooms...makes ya wonder! 🤭
  13. My family and I gave cards to our elder body last year, and that’s what the tie card reminded me of. We used this printout from JW printables: https://jwprintables.com/en/3d-jw-elder-appreciation-card/
  14. Our FSG overseers gather it from the families and then they send it to secretary for a total. Our FSG Overseer has a group text going and we just text the totals per family.
  15. We will be doing Zoom starting on Sunday. I got the link today and tested it on both my laptop and iPhone. It worked great 👍🏻. Took awhile to figure out where the “raise hand” option was on the computer! 🤔 If you are interested in knowing who is on, you can click on “participants” and it will bring up a list on the side of the computer screen. We have our CO visit next week, so it will be interesting to see if all goes well!
  16. My school system is behind and so I printed material I found online for math, ela, etc. Plus, we are incorporating meeting prep and daily text. We head outside for some exercise too. Next week he will be doing the instruction from the school. We are both enjoying the time together & the relaxed atmosphere!
  17. This is the same one I use. It was the only one that was comparable to Ministry Assistant (Android only). Getting used to it now, but still not a huge fan.
  18. This looks really good. I too used Ministry Assistant when I had my android phone, and I miss it greatly! There are no apps on iOS that compare to it, so I am excited to use yours when it becomes available. 👍
  19. My husband and I researched using one of the “fixer” companies. These companies offer to help you pay off your creditors quickly and easily. What we found was you had to NOT make any payments so as to force the creditors to accept the “offer” from the “fixer” company. This would have been horrible for our credit because non payments show up on your report & cause your score to go down. In addition, we didn’t feel comfortable forcing a creditor into a corner when we had made the purchases to begin with. So, instead we chose one card at a time and paid extra toward it until it was paid off, and then moved on to the next card. (All this while keeping up with regular payments on the others). It’s taken 2 years, but it’s done, and our credit scores have increased as well.
  20. I am new to the iOS world, and so attempted to do what you have spelled out above. However, while in the Readdle app, I noticed it has a browser button under the My Files button. When I use the browser to go to jw.org, I am able to download from the website directly to the Readdle app without having to go through the file converter app. To download, I clicked on the downward pointing arrow that is next to the address bar. I tested it to make sure, and I was able to write and highlight on it. Hope this helps! Edit: You are not able to click on the scriptures, as the file is purely pdf.
  21. This is a fact. It has been on all news outlets all morning. Mike Pompeo had an interview and said the General was an “imminent threat” to the USA, and they bombed him at the airport. The government is now telling all Americans to leave the region. Here is more info: https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2020/jan/03/baghdad-airport-iraq-attack-deaths-iran-us-tensions
  22. If you are on the lessons & change the language it will update to the new language if it is one that’s supported. It worked for Arabic and Chinese, but not for Portuguese. Unfortunately, when you click the languages, it brings them all up and not just the ones it’s available in.
  23. Nicely done Time article: https://time.com/5751224/jehovahs-witness-russia-persecution/
  24. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7666959/Demonstrators-loot-churches-Chile-burn-statues-Jesus-streets.html?ito=facebook_share_article-top Apparently this started over a proposed increase in metro fares. News reports 20 people have died and 2500 injured so far in the last 3-4 weeks of protests.
