Emma gently cleared her throat so I said, ‘The government advice is that you don’t speak for 14 days.’
 
(Rightly, she ignored me. And I got an earful when I later started coughing when I disturbed some dust.)

First day of memorial invitation work. haven't had notice from the BOE that it's cancelled in our area yet.
wake up this morning to my usual bad weather coughing fits and it's snowing outside.
 
not about to go out today coughing in the snow even thought the cough will clear up around 10am like it usually does.

Trying to get my dad's affairs in order is a pain. 

My nephew and his wife have been stellar in all this. However my mother hasn't been cooperative in the least bit.

the latest thing is to have a memorial in a hall central to where he and mom lived in southern California so that all their long time friends could come by.. However since he never went to a hall after he was moved to california and nobody from Idaho transferred his card. upon contacting the CBOE there they didn't have a clue as to who he was with all the mergers. so his local BOE can't confirm that he was ever a witness. flip side in this is my mother isn't cooperating with anyone. 

so instead of a memorial at the hall where my only sister in the truth and her only son in the truth we have to do something else. 

fortunately a brother handed me the outline for that particular talk and I or my brother will do it once we can all arrange to meet some place in the spring.
 

My father is dead. Had to kick my mother out of the house to go see him and her grandchildren that cared for him before it was too late.
 
Long story to why this was but suffice to say its not been an easy 53 years (my age).
 
They've had a turbulent history.  Result is an extremely fragmented family that barely talks to each other.
 
My nephew is my only reaffirmation of hat the resurrection promise provides a hope.
 
Haven't talked to my dad in 20 years except for the time he threatened to kill me for taking my mother in when no one else would. 
 
He who is making all things new will fix this.

I should add that he was opposed most of my life but was baptized several years after i left home.
He then succumbed to effects of his ptsd from the Vietnam war and dementia.
