  1. Again, Jehovah's organization has left Hollywood in the dust! The people who are part of the Hollywood scene don't get along nearly well enough to pull off what Jehovah's people accomplish. But we are united in our service of the Happy God and we know how to get things done. Of course, we have his spirit to direct us, so all of our activities are successful. I really appreciated that the singers are talented enough to make the song appear to have been made with all the participants in the same place. And the skill with which the friends recorded Brother Shaffer speaking Oromo was incredible! This production was, as usual, exactly what we needed right now! Jehovah truly provides for our needs at just the right time.
  2. My Adventist relatives believed that they would stop and pet the animals on their way to the 'first sabbath' in heaven. It has been said that man is the only flesh and blood creature who has a conscience. He is also the only creature that needs one. Obviously, the animals died in Eden. Adam certainly knew what death was. I do kill flies, spiders, and such in my house. I also kill grasshoppers in my garden and aphids on my roses. Jehovah created a need to worship in humans, but obviously not in animals.
  3. What a blessing it is now to have the wonderful sound systems that we have in all our Kingdom Halls. Back when, we really had to talk loudly!
  4. The whole concept of taking down statues, etc. is useless. Nothing anyone can do can change history. These atrocities happened, the wars happened, the plagues happened. You can burn the history books, but none of these acts change what happened. You can't change the past. Neither can any peoples change the future. That is in Jehovah's hands and is already writtenin stone. The only thing we can do is learn what Jehovah has purposed for the future and work with this knowledge to make our future secure.
  5. I want to talk to Judah and his brothers and find out why Reuben, Simeon and Levi did not behave in a manner that qualified them for Jehovah's approval. Judah was the fourth son, but he was granted the privilege of being in the lineage of Jesus.
  6. I was amused, but still offended when I heard my ex'es son in law (a Methodist) pray in Old King James language. He was an educated business man who spoke normally except while praying. I guess those who cling to the 1611 KJ are affected by it.
  7. Our group overseer has assigned us to study the 37th Psalm this week. We have had 3 positive Corona patients here in Greeley. One was a nurse at the local hospital. We are under lockdown, go out in pairs as absolutely necessary. Our meetings are streamed. our overseer checks with us by phone, text, or email at least twice every day. We cannot write letters because of the contact. We can't do any studies or rv's. Those in our group have access to each other's posts, but no physical contact. We will follow instructions from him and the GB. Hopefully, we will all stay healthy.
  8. Of course, Satan's system has dinked with that and BTG has approved it. Many people today don't seem to know if they are male, female, both, or neither.
  9. Brother Morris gave an excellent talk! There should be no questions concerning the facts. There cannot be more partakers than anointed. Only the anointed are legitimate partakers. I know many partake who are not anointed, but they are partaking unworthily. 1 Cor. 11:27-29 is very explicit. Br. Morris repeated the fact that, if you question whether you are anointed, you are not. We should never question whether one is anointed. That is private, between each individual and Jehovah. I do know that some who partake are not counted because some are obviously not anointed. Many of our visitors at our Memorial observance have been taught that all good people go to heaven. Christendom has misled the masses to expect that. However, false religion has always been misleading people since she began. It doesn't matter which lie one believes. They all are bringing forth death. The Governing Body is our lifeline to Jehovah. We must depend on them to direct us. If we don't understand a reason for our direction, follow it until we do understand. Loyalty will protect us.
  10. My favorite experience is at 1 Samuel chapter 17:31- 51. Verse 45 tells us David's mind set in defending Jehovah's name. The Philistine has taunted the name of David's God and he, through holy spirit, defends Jehovah's name. "You are coming against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I am coming against you in the name pf Jehovah of armies, the God of the battle line of Israel, whom you have taunted." Then he hurls a stone with his sling and kills Goliath. Jehovah's name is honored before all the Israelite and Philistine armies. If we honor Jehovah's name and position, he will help us to make such a bold statement about him, just as David did through his life.
  11. We were discussing this at our meeting for service last Saturday. I mentioned it to one of my calls. She said (I hope not to brush me off) that she might study after the first of the year. How often we have heard that!
  12. A WT article several months ago informed us that if we think God doesn't love us, then we believe that Jesus' ransom is not good enough for us. We are dust. The very fact that we live is proof that God loves us. Satan wants us to doubt everything that Jehovah has told us. We are too close to the end of this system to be duped now.
  13. My philosophy is 'Age is mind over matter. If you don't mind, it don't matter. I am 76, but, when I am 876, it still won't matter.
  14. We are experiencing extreme winter weather! Our CO was with us this week, but midweek meeting was cancelled because of this storm. One of our elders said that this is the first time this has happened, in his experience. Saturday morning service was cancelled and Sunday meeting may be, also. We have a foot of snow on the ground, but such strong winds that it almost appears to be snowing even when it is not. We are praying that our flight may not occur in this storm! Of course, our flight is not physical, but the ancient flight of the Israelites does come to mind.
  15. I have a copy of the blue book, but I will not part with it. I was baptized while I was studying in it.
  16. Of course we are the happiest people on earth. Isa. 46:10 tells us," From the beginning I foretell the outcome, and from long ago the things that have not yet been done." Then Jehovah tells us what the future holds. Those who don't serve Jehovah have no idea what the future holds. All they have is present conditions with no hope for anything different.
  17. Beautiful! We all see the need to work hard to be prepared for the end. We know it is coming soon. Still, we do not serve Jehovah with a date or year in mind. The beginning of the new service year only encourages us to be sure we keep moving with the Celestial Chariot.
  18. My brother is severely depressed and has been since we lost everything we owned in the Platte River, Cache La Pudre , Big Thompson Rivers in 2013. I have come to understand his depression to a degree. I hope to help him by being more understanding of his mental frustration, but I lost a lot of things, too. They were only things. We have too much to do to prepare for the immediate future. We don't have time to dwell on what was. We have gotten a lot of help to deal with emotional issues and I hope Frank will derive some comfort from these study articles. I pray for him more than I used to. I hope that helps also. WE have a lot to do, but we all hope that we have a short time to do it.
  19. I like www.madzay.com. I get lots of paper products from them. They are JW's also. They have nice greeting cards and I get my day planner from them every year. They offer various service supplies and service bags. They are in Ohio,USA.
  20. Richard, what happened to your cats? Did they all escape?

I heard there's a new cat herder in town. I wonder if perchance anybody saw a feline transatlantic migration lately. Meanwhile, Tortuga may have decided an upgrade is long overdue. Herding saber tooth tigers, perhaps?

And don't forget the milk bottles.

  21. My friend played the piano. One time she forgot to change her shoes and played wearing her fuzzy pink slippers! After that, she carried a pair of shoes in her car for 'just in case.'
  22. My brother has a rifle. He used to go elk hunting. When he was younger and had small children (6) to feed, he went every year. He also has a large hunting knife, used to field dress the animal. Now he is unable to walk well enough to go hunting. He still has the rifle. It is stored in a bag in his closet. The ammunition is locked in a separate location. A pencil does not make a mistake, the hand holding it does. There is another statement floating around. "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns." Only Jehovah's Kingdom will eliminate the problem. If it is a person's choice to possess a weapon, that person is responsible for however that weapon is used.
  23. Natasha mentioned the protection that the Israelites had when they crossed the Red Sea. We were discussing at our mid-week meeting that many of us take medications that are necessary for us to live. We must rely on Jehovah to either provide the meds, or keep us going without them. And then, the other alternative is the resurrection if we should die. Either way, Jehovah knows how to protect his people. We don't need to fret about suppositions. In fact needless worry distracts us from concentrating on the things we can control. Our WT this week surely encouraged, no ordered, us to study more effectively so we can serve Jehovah more fully. It also stressed how the Faithful Slave has condensed our material that we need to take in. There was even mention to be selective about how much we concentrate on. Not all of us are capable of taking everything in. The comment was made that we need to study deeper, knowing that we can't do it all.
  24. I read a very brief note in the news, that the massive bee hives in the building were salvaged. I haven't found any lengthy articles about this.
