  1. I would like to share some good news. I talked to a FEMA rep today and he helped me with the whole process. He was very efficient and kind. He said I will receive property damage, and rental assistance, it should hit the bank in next two days. Next I have to submit a couple of documents and pictures and someone will contact me to assess the damage and they may just do it via Zoom, thankfully I have plenty pictures. I may also be eligible for additional rental assistance, ( Praise Jah) Also I thanked him and was able to tell him about Jehovah and JW.ORG Now I am waiting on my car insurance adjuster.
  2. I'm am so happy to be well and so thankful to Jehovah and the loving support of our worldwide brotherhood. I am truly grateful. Comforting Scriptures sent to me along with texts: 1Cor.4:8, Proverbs 3:5, Jerm.17:7, of course Isaiah 30:15 Isa. 33:6, Nahum 1:7, Ps. 107:29, 30 and so many more. Thank you friends here for listening and caring. Thank you
  3. Hi I have not been able to get internet until now. I wanted to give an update. My friend and sis from Evergreen, LA which is near Marksville picked me up. What a blessing, she drove 5 hours to get me and of course 5 hours we arrived 10:40pm last night. I had no phone service it was in and out. There are many friends throughout that have been affected. So far i have not found out who, I will get on Facebook after this and see what I can find out. I do have friends in Laplace they left pryor, but have lost just about everything. I have been worried and praying for everyone. So as for me, my apartment flooded, the roof came down on top my car, we had to stay until it was safe to leave over Sunday night, praying the ceiling would not fall and it did not. Was able to move out a few things and bring to sons shop. The friends here letting me stay as long as need be. I have food stamps, applied for Fema and was able to contact insurance for my car. I am just grateful to be ok. Have continuously relied on Jehovah. Friends have sent me much encouraging Scriptures. Thank you all for your concern. I just found out some friends are evacuating now they have tarps on their roofs. I pray everyone is safe. New Orleans East just got power. Oh and my son is with a work buddy he 42 not in Truth, and when power is restored they will let him stay at the shop he changes oil and tires. Thank you, much Christian love.
  4. Look Brother it was to late to invoke a mandatory evacuatio they had no time to do a contraband. I live here, you are reading news I am living it. Anyone outside of the levee protection which is low lying areas in Orleans and Jefferson parishes. The source is here not what you are pulling up. To maintain Christian conduct, I will not pay attention or reply to anymore of your posts after this. I live inside the levee protection, most elders are here as well as group overseers. We were not ordered to evacuate only voluntary in our area. I have the news on nonstop as well as alerts on my phone. Thank you.
  5. On the lighter side I was able to give a witness to my neighbors for about an hour. It had a calming affect on me. And of course I am able to speak to my son. I know how to prepare and what to do as I have been going through Hurricanes since the 60's. And like they say every storm is different. We just went through Zeta last year and the eyewall went clear across us, it was very strange outdoors. We have back up supplies and are ready to help friends where needed. I live in an area with a big Coroner's bldg. two stores, the main police station and a big fire house.
  6. If it had been a mandatory order as direction of the Slave all of us would have found a place to go I know Jehovah provides.
  7. I have not posted in a long while. But I am on the Westbank of New Orleans. I am nervous to be honest. We definitely need everyone's prayers. A lot of friends are here and in Houma area where the hurricane will hit. The news said 150 mile winds when it hits, which means Grand Isle and Port Fouchon possibly can be wiped out. As far as know everyone has evacuated that area. We are having strong wind gusts now. We are as prepared as we can be. I live with my 42 year old son, but I am the only in the truth. I have several family members around here. I will try to keep updates. I pray we are not flooded, that is my main concern.
  8. Thanks, I know for sure it wasn't 1978, because both my boys were small my 2nd son was born in 1978
  9. It does not sound familiar, do you have the one for 1980? I know it had to be CA, because there was no district convention in New Orleans, they were in Baton Rouge. Thanks for your help.
  10. I am trying to find the theme for the Circuit Assembly in the fall of 1979, please. I just recently learned the date on my publisher card for my baptism is wrong. I left the truth for many years and have also forgotten the date. I was baptized in New Orleans in 1979 at the Circuit Assembly at the Municipal Auditorium. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You But the way, I have been back since 2011....
  11. Dolly Parton's movie the coat of many colors comes on tonight at 8pm, looks like a good movie.
