rocket reacted to trottigy in Museum Of The Bible
I saw that there is a Bible Museum in Washington DC.
https://www.museumofthebible.org/
I would have loved to have visited it when in DC, but I didn't know. Anyway, there is a lot of artifacts on-line as well. Here is a snippet from something I was looking at this morning (note 9:7):

rocket got a reaction from Old in warning to parents who don't vaccinate
Before the Whooping cough vaccine come out we almost lost our oldest son when he was 2 yrs old to that dreaded disease. Our youngest child got every vaccine available and all the boosters and he is a strapping 6'2" lad that hardly even gets a cold now. The sky did not fall as few other's tried to tell us. To every good thing there is always a few risks but for me the risk is worth it. Someone else might think differently and that's O.K.

rocket got a reaction from daydream in Supplements
Has anyone heard anything about a new cancer treatment involving white blood cells altered with a dead HIV virus? I don't remember all the specifics but I questioned if a JW could in good conscience take it. If I remember correctly, in tests it was very successful in killing the cancer cells only.

rocket got a reaction from JW417 in Roses From Cuttings
Of all those cuttings only two Grand Impression cuttings made plants and they are getting their first bloom buds. Hardwood cuttings take a long time to root.

rocket got a reaction from JW417 in Roses From Cuttings
I have a number of Roses growing in the yard from cutting, Hybrid Tea, Floribunda, English and Old Garden Roses. Below is a pic of two Hybrid Tea Varieties I buried in bark dust in November 2018. Early indications are that a few of them might actually make it. I will plant what ever makes it in August.

rocket reacted to Tortuga in Judge orders blood - No AHCD
This shows how important it is to have an AHCD.
High Court allows Irish hospital to give blood transfusion to Jehovah's witness in ICU if required (msn.com)
The High Court has made orders allowing a hospital to give a blood transfusion, if necessary, to a member of the Jehovah Witness faith.
The order was made on Wednesday afternoon by Mr Justice Tony O'Connor who said accepted that the patient's life maybe "on the line" and that he may require a blood transfusion.
While the judge said that he while respected the religious beliefs the man holds the court was satisfied that the man currently lacks the capacity to make an informed decision about the medical care he is being provided with.
The court also noted that no Advance Care Directive, which is a document held by members of the Jehovah's Witness faith stating that they are not to be given any blood or blood products under any circumstances, in relation to the man been provided to the hospital.

rocket reacted to trottigy in Musky - our dear friend has passed
It is with a heavy heart we must announce the loss of our dear friend Chuck / Musky - one of our longtime moderators. He lost his battle with Parkinson's on Thursday March 21st. We are certain, his assistance with all sorts of computer related questions and his quick witt will be missed by all. We look forward to seeing him in the New World full of life and ready to help any who ask. Our prayers go out to his lovely wife and family who will no doubt miss him even more. This is a good reminder for each of us to try, as he did, and make a good name with all of you and especially with our loving God Jehovah.

Does 'Hovah' really mean 'a ruin, disaster'? (or another name for satan)
maybe this blog article quoting from Hebrew Scholar Nehemia Gordon will help.
