Lewis reacted to EccentricM in So depressed today
Sorry to hear that. Some days can be like that, but just try to focus on the things you enjoy, and don't let depression "define" you as a person, or your day. Its a feeling, not a nice one, but acknowledge it whilst being able to try and redivert attention to something better, knowing that the depression will pass. Sometimes it's ok and normal to feel that way too. Don't fall into the trap of being depressed over depression, because it creates a vicious circle.

Some times it's medical, other times it's from a specific event or reason causing the depression. I don't know which one it is for you, but in either case, praying for you.

Lewis reacted to Katty in So hard to stay politically neutral but I must. I like Trump as a person but I'm not
I find it a lot easier to be neutral when I stay away from the news. The news, particularly NBC news is incredibly annoying and preachy, and full of identity politics. I find the news gets me really angry with how they keep trying to tell people how we're supposed to feel about everything.

Lewis reacted to daydream in So, I watched a documentary called "What the Health". Now I can't mentally get myself
'What the health' is on Netflix. Loved that series. Now if only I can go vegetarian. Normally I would behave myself and eat sensibly for a few days and then go back to my old ways. It's hard to eat organic when the food is so expensive.
Also lack of discipline/self control and old age brings declining memory. Everything goes out of the window.
I do eat alone most of the time when I go out and I think that helps me from going along with the crowd. Being economically challenged helps to rein in some of my excesses.
My CBOE likes to follow the recommendations of sisters who are well heeled. As a result the less well off ones are left staring at their meagre portions of food while he and the rest feast on large portions of meat. This was after the field service. I took the middle ground by limiting my budget to USD1.50. One brother and another sister just ordered desserts for lunch.
Painfully obvious the economic divide. I don't want to be so publicly humiliated in the near future. I will just take leave immediately after the FS and get a few buses home. Besides Jehovah rewards me when I find lovely people to chat to at the bus stops. My kind of 'heaven'.

    Hi Sister Charlotte,

Unfortunately, even if we don't eat those things we are still being slowly killed.  Our drinking water, the cooking utensils we use, the clothing we wear, the cell phone we use, the medicine and vaccines we take, etc., all contains chemicals and toxins.  Even if some government organization says it has limited the levels, chemicals are still being used.

We are depending on someone else to produce our food.  If you read the labels of food products it's a lot of stuff you can't pronounce.  Why is wheat in gum?  Why is wheat in emergency water?  Wheat today is made in a lab and is why so many are coming down with digestive issues.  If we don't grow it ourselves we can't tell what is in it.  Almost everyone is suffering from some sort of illness but many don't realize it could be the food.

I've never had digestive issues but back in 2015 I started suffering with my digestion.  Since that time I have tried all types of diets (even vegetarian/vegan) trying to get my digestion together.  I ran into the same video and others like it.  While, I am concerned about such things I have come to realize that we are not able to avoid being slowly poisoned.  We have no control of our food supply.  Even the things that say they are healthy or don't have certain harmful additives always has something else that isn't good for you.

You have to do the best you can.  I try to eat organic foods/grass fed meats (local if possible) but some do not have access to local farmers.  Still I can't be sure what is marked as organic is really that unless I grown it myself or buy it local.

    Do not get caught up into the vegan agenda (that we shouldn't eat meat).  If one doesn't want to eat meat that is fine but they shouldn't make others feel guilty if they want to.  Besides;

Jehovah told "Noah" after the flood that he may eat meat.  Genesis 9: 3
Jesus fed about 5000 fish & Bread - John 6:10-11
Jehovah warns that in later time people will be saying don't eat certain foods - Tim 4:1-3

I think Jehovah as our creator knows better than any human

Unfortunately we are living in the last of the last days.  Nothing is pure or good for you.  Even if you eat the best foods something like the recent virus shows that anything can come along and  take you out unexpectedly.

The problem is not meat itself it's "how the food is handled and what is being put into it".  It's best to eat grass fed meats (local if you can) but it may be hard to find or expensive.  I still worry about such foods but I can't control everything so I do my best.
